This is huge I think. Also for keeping the odd player
-
Looked like bednarek to me
-
No prizes for guessing who let go of their man for their goal
-
Actually most people were saying 8 and plenty said worse
-
Genuine question but why do we need Grimes when we have Charles, Smallbone, Downes, Armstrong and Alcaraz covering the midfield slots? We might be better off with a young kid who'll be happy with max 10 games
-
I'm wondering who misses out when Alcaraz, Smallbone, Downes and Charles are all available. We have really good depth in midfield at the moment
-
Our model is to invest for the future. It's not about paying down last season's investments, they're paying for themselves, now and in the future. Now we find more young players we can flip for a profit

Why does the world have to change 😢

I came here to say this. That parry was utterly awful, he should be putting it behind
-
It did occur to me that a Premier League keeper would have saved that first one
-
At least he's club captain rather than team captain, he doesn't have to play

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
Ex Lion Tamer replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
He's only 33. Bit strange how his career has nosedived. Perhaps he's just not passionate about football anymore -
The only thing we might be able to offer is guaranteed first team football. His aim will be to rebuild his reputation to play for West Ham next season
-
I appreciate these sorts of update and take it at face value. What I don't understand is why we would want such huge turnover of the playing squad. It's highly destabilising and surely risky/challenging to get the right replacements in. I accept that it's not worth keeping players who don't want to be here but there must be a core that we could keep
-
The way I see it, the owners consider it desirable to balance the books as we have lost so much revenue, but if we don't get the right offers by the end of window then ultimately we could cover it and the banks won't be knocking at our door
-
I really don't understand why Liverpool have quibbled over a few million. They're being outspent in this era and dithering doesn't help them
-
I reckon he still sees England as a possibility (though not a likelihood). It makes total sense to have one last tilt at it at a club with better players who he might be able flourish alongside. Playing in a major tournament for England is such an amazing thing that you've got to try rather than spend your life wondering - I know I'd be putting that above one-club legend status. And even if we think he's not good enough, he'll believe in himself
-
Yes I think they will leave but they are the ones who will be replaced with new players, not the other three
-
Realistically, Tino doesn't need to be replaced because we have KWP (for now at least), Lavia's replacement is Charles and JWP's replacement is Smallbone. It's other areas we desperately need to bolster. Separately, wasn't the quote that we have other players waiting to join? Slightly hard to believe but does suggest deals are advanced for when we decide to pull the trigger
-
I know there haven't been many links in the media but I don't know why people think KWP will stay. He's way too good for this league and will surely be snapped up by someone
-
I think Che would score 20+ goals in this league but won't because he'll be leaving. I think Armstrong would struggle to replicate his one great season because teams will sit back against us, which won't suit his game. I do think he would get 15+ if he played the whole season up front but I don't think he'll get that chance
-
Everyone is so keen to point out that possession doesn't win games but I don't think even Russell Martin is saying that. He just believes it's a way of enhancing your chances. Everyone knows you still have to create chances and put the ball in the net
-
I do agree about Romeu in the sense that it left us badly short when Lavia got injured. My point really was despite have some excellent players in the squad, we were badly short in key positions. Any average manager would struggle to keep that team up, we needed someone who could get them playing well above their ability to have any hope, as Ralph had in the past (at times).

We went down because we didn't sign a quality goalkeeper and striker. The rest is window dressing

Is there ever a situation where an option to buy is helpful to the selling club? I can't see it
