Only 1 of ours according to the prediction league!

Ok - sorry - I should have said 'the majority' not 'everyone'. For those who work in the vital services etc we are very grateful and I hope you all enjoy your lieu day when you get it. (Is that better?)

So it's Friday 29th April - 2 long weekends in a row for everyone as it's Easter the weekend before and Bank Holiday Monday on the 2nd May!!

Last Saturday I went to St. Marys and really enjoyed the afternoon. A great performance and a good time had by one and all. Or so I thought. What I didn't realise was that among the crowd there were the 'noise and chant police' and 'fashion police'. I can't imagine I will enjoy the Oldham game as I will be looking around to see who is making notes on my behaviour! I am now concerned about eating anything - will my choice of food be considered wrong in the eyes of the 'food police'.
-
Yeah - pleased to help.

Yes, I can. It was April 1974 and I think we were playing Cardiff Reserves, though I can't be sure. I couldn't afford to go to away games then but the first team were away at Everton and won 3-0. Sadly, it was also the day we got relegated.

Good to have a 'memories' thread at this time. For me it's: 76 Cup win - At Wembley - sideways on to the goal as the ball went in! RIP Bobby and thanks. KK signed - my Mum phoned me at work (and she NEVER phoned at work as she thought it wasn't right!) The 6-3 - At the Dell, West Stand laughing hysterically as the 6th went in! Last Goal at the Dell - Same place as the 6-3 and remember shouting NO! as Chris Marsden nearly got in the way! Markus passing - My son phoned me while we were on the way to see him to take him and his GF out to dinner and I thought he was being impatient. Was shocked and stunned - we raised a glass to Markus later. RIP.
-
Such sad news. Sincere condolences to his family. Thank you Markus for giving us our club back and hope that you enjoyed your time with us. We will never forget you - your legacy will live on. RIP.

Tragic news - RIP

I really believe this is what will happen. Assuming HMRC win the case or even if it goes to appeal, UHY or Chanrai will not risk losing further money by continuing. As Hutch (I think) pointed out, the costs are huge and the previous injection of cash to fund administration must have run out by now and I can't see Chanrai risking anymore without the CVA. I really believe if HMRC win that will be the end of them. I also believe that the FL may have pushed for an early court date so they can start the season knowing P****y's position. They won't want to get into a situation the PL nearly found themselves in whereby they may have had to delete their record midway though the season.

If you are flying, please check your insurance. We bought holiday insurance recently and there are very few policies which allow for ash cloud disruption. It's worth paying a bit more for peace of mind. Some will include it but with an excess. -
Is that a promise AA??

Well, what a year it's been! While we have been enjoying the rise of SFC, it's been fun to come over here and see how the other half are living. It seems that every week, sometimes daily we have had another twist to this thread. As has been said many times - you couldn't make it up! I'm sure there is at least another year in it. Their demise is nowhere near complete, in some ways its hardly started. We have HMRC to (hopefully) throw a spanner in the works, trying to survive with no players and very little income, court cases and who knows what else! Thanks to all the informative posters on here who have made the effort to find the gossip, unearth dodgy dealings and educate us all in financial and legal matters. And of course thanks to FF who started the whole thing!

Thank you NC & ML for giving us our club back. I know some people have had short memories but I never lose sight of the fact that my club nearly died. Not only have we got this club back but it is moving forward in a way we have really never known before. I have supported Saints for 40 years and never felt as disinterested and saddened as I did 1 year and a day ago. Since then I have started loving football again and even enjoying a bonus day out at Wembley. For the first time in several years I can't wait until August. Thanks again.

Just a thought - many people have been questioning the percenatges owed and quite rightly, but who actually counted the votes? It was stated that very few creditors attended the meeting so presumably the majority of votes were sent by post. I do hope none were lost.... Simple adding up doesn't seem to be one of AA's skills so I hope there was someone overseeing this process.

Great day, great fans, great result. Not the most convincing display but we still won 4-1! So proud to be a saint and it's great to have our club back and win a trophy. Grateful thanks to ML, NC and AP for making it happen. :smt038
