  1. Assuming they have sold 1000 to kids and 1500 to seniors/young people and the remainder to adults that comes to just under £3.3m of guaranteed income. Remind me again what their approx outgoings are each month? Don't think that will last long...
  2. Usain Bolt?? Seriously????
  3. Oh yes, it's incredible. And running back down without falling over
  4. Not sleeping!! No seriously, I know what it is but there's not many on this particular forum that can help!
  5. Dell Days - I remember a few weeks ago you were on here as you were concerned about your future career. I don't know if you have resolved this but an over active mind can is one of the main causes of insomnia. If you still have concerns then once they have been resolved then hopefully your sleep pattern will return to normal. I wake up every 2 hours (approx.) every night and I know just how bad it feels to go without sleep so I do sympathise.
  6. Excellent summary
  7. In the Echo yesterday they gave 'atmosphere' 9/10 - how the hell do we get 10/10? Even the away fans were happy. Nearly 32000 people all celebrating. Does it get better? Or maybe they are saving the 10 until this time next year!
  8. Congratulations to Shaun for winning the prediction league. I was very pleased to finish 2nd - and we all know that's the best position to finish in (and 3 points behind!!)
  9. Yes, I remember 78 - I went to Orient when the wall fell down. Was sitting opposite where it happened with my uncle who was an Orient fan and he starting moaning about us being vandals! Also saw the dreadful Spurs game which was just played out in the middle - if we had won Spurs may not have got promoted and the worry was that trouble would start (it was the 70's after all!). As it was both sets of fans were happy and the police and stewards were relieved. Fixed? Certainly appeared that way!
  10. Just checked on the travel insurance we use at work and the rate to us (trade) for 2 going to New York for 5 days in May is £51.00 in total. Unfortunately I can't book it as it can only be used for our clients but this may give you an indication of the commission!!
  11. Thanks - that was great to see. Can't believe it's been nearly 10 years.
  12. Lots of contenders this year but its Lallana for me. You only have to look at how we struggled without him at times during the season. Someone worked out the points we got with him in the team and then without (before Orient). It was quite staggering. He really makes a difference. Credit to so many others though - Fonte, Jaidi, Barnard and Ricky for working through his difficult start - can't have been easy.
  13. Great win but hope Lallana and Stephens are OK. The games against Orient and Rochdale will be very difficult as they are both breathing down Bompey's neck to get in the play offs.
  14. Just back from France. Will probably be going to France later in the year too.
  15. Question about parachute payments. Teams that get relegated get four years of payments to 'soften the blow', so what happens when a team goes up again during that 4 years? Do they forefit the subsequent payments? And then what if they then get relegated for a second time also within that four years? Will they get another four years of payments? Perhaps they should have left it at 2 years.
  16. Terribly sad. RIP and condolences to his family.
  17. Good article - I'd forgotten or not heard of some of them! When you list them all it doesn't seem so bad but it would be nice for youngsters to get better opportunities here. The line about Jamie Lawrence made me laugh - I don't think we can claim him as an Islander!!
  18. Agree - if he'd signed for us we'd have won.
  19. It's our anniversary tomorrow and we'll go out for a meal to a reasonably peaceful and normally priced venue. We will enjoy reading the menu for the event in nine days when the place will be packed with people trying to being romantic with 20 or so other couples all paying for an overpriced set menu. We won't be joining them.
  20. Nothing in my road In our village : 3 Anti Social behaviour (and thats from the road near the beach/pub leading back towards neaerest town) 1 'other'
  21. Yes, of course we are!!! I think the idea must be that they will now have to keep the librarians in a job for the next 12 months or so to try and get the people to return all those books!!
  22. Unusual situation this. The bigger club in all but league position are Saints. We do not need a cup run this season unlike Blackpool who could really do with it and given the luck of the draw could go a fair way in the competition. We now miss a league fixture for every round we are in, whereas Premier lge clubs don't and this would give us further fixture congestion if we were to proceed. This, together with the postponed games due to the weather would make the next couple of months a real struggle especially if we were to get a few key injuries (please, no!). The absolute worst case senario would be a draw. Most league 1 clubs would relish a go at a Premier lge team on their own ground. We do not need it or want it (IMO of course).
  23. Shouldn't 'We won a trophy' make the list too?
  24. If that train of thought is correct then surely tomorrow will be Christmas Day. I look forward to presents and Christmas dinner then! IMHO Monday and Tuesday and merely Bank Holidays in lieu of Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
