  1. With Mane it was his all round threat. The amount of corners and free kicks he would win, goals from half chance situations. We can not replace Pelle and get away with it but if we want to be pushing top 8 again then we need to replace Mane. There is nobody at the club with attributes anywhere like his, and that includes Redmond.
  2. Think released as had been injured so presumably wasn't offered a pro deal. Their Academy is also crazily strong.
  3. O'Driscoll had a bad injury last season apparently but was highly rated before joining City. Had a trial at Bournemouth a couple of months back.
  4. With European games and Jay Rod's ability to play wide there would be plenty of chances even with another striker. Especially with a new Manager with no historical tie to any of them. We are a 6th place PL team, in Europe, if theyare available and show they are good enough then they would play with Pelle here or not.
  5. He is injured long term.
  6. Hopefully not. Mane scored more goals last year than Redmond probably has in 4 years at Norwich and Birmingham. With the added Europa games we could use an additional wide player too if playing 4-3-3. Unless Isgrove is seen as being able to step up from League One? He has a habit of being great in pre season and then disappearing. I am all for the Academy being the first port of call but the players have to be good enough otherwise its to the detriment of the Club.
  7. Mane replacement is an absolute must. Wouldn't say any of the current U21s beyond Reed, Targett and maybe Jones are ever going to be PL quality. Many were average out on loan much lower down. Admirable policy but would also bring valid questions of just where the money goes if we don't spend the money we have got through player sales. We must be making a fortune.
  8. Gallagher would have to have improved immeasurably in the last 2 months to be a PL quality player IMO.
  9. Plus we will likely bring in a decent bit over £50m so if we spent £70m it would only be £20m net which would be one of the lower net spends in the league you would imagine. Its definitely possible without being reckless, due to the massive TV money and player sales cash, plus inflated prices.
  10. Sounds like Agent talk smoking out an improved offer from a club/league he will actually be interested in. Will be very suprised if he actually goes to China.
  11. Needs an elusive Mane type player to be added otherwise looks a little short of quality if not effort.
  12. A China move would be miles better for us than losing him to another PL side. £13m a decent fee but slight concern at losing his and Mane's goals in one summer. Vital to keep Tadic now. Caveat: The Mirror usually just recycle foreign reports.
  13. Add Davis, Long, Bertrand, Forster and Pelle and I think thats the list.
  14. That day we were taken over was such a good feeling, as good as you can have off the pitch as a football fan I think. The Liebherr family have ultimately done as well out of it as Saints have, a shrewd financial decision to buy, from a shrewd man.
  15. Would any of those be starters though? Stanciu according to Romanian experts would struggle physically and would certainly need time (judging by Cedric and Clasie maybe a whole season). Nagy and Kaputska would be great signings but I wouldn't expect either to set the world alight from the start, they would need plenty of time to adjust to the pace of the league, the step up in class from their domestic league and to fulfil their potential. We have lost our best attacking player (Mane), our first pick defensive midfielder (VW) and likely our most reliable goalscorer over the last two years. In addition to potential we need proven quality if we have any ambition to even match what we did last year. I think we need 3 x players who will come straight in to the starting XI.
  16. Its probably a glitch but would be a nice gesture given how much money is raked in by PL clubs and the fact there are extra European games to pay for this season. Would get a proper crowd in too.
  17. Cagliari interested in Kapustka who is valued at about €5m. http://www.gazzamercato.it/serie-a/cagliari-occhi-puntati-su-kapustka-del-cracovia/?refresh_ce-cp
  18. Shame we didn't have another couple of players signed in time for the tour to the US - great opportunity to get to know people etc. Obviously still very early stages of the window, but on balance ours so far has been one of the weakest windows in the PL in that the squad is worse now than at the end of last season whereas most other teams are stronger. Ideally need 4 players before the start of the PL, and at least 3 of them to be first XI starters.
  19. He is about their 27th choice as well.
  20. I expect Chamberlain would view a move here as an admission of failure at Arsenal. Easier to save face and move to West Ham or somewhere else.
  21. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/07/wales-heroes-joe-allen-and-hal-robson-kanu-attracting-interest-f/ This says we are interested. Personally think we are massively lacking strength and mobility in our midfield options and Allen wouldn't help there.
  22. @JPercyTelegraph: Bournemouth are set to sign Leeds midfielder Lewis Cook in a deal worth around £6million. Medical scheduled for Friday #afcb #lufc Very good young player. Bournemouth having a tidy window thus far.
  23. Nobody "wouldn"t accept" Dost. Just saying that IMO he isn't a better player than Pelle and losing your two top scorers you would want to replace with proven quality which Dost (again IMO) isn't. For a bit more than £6m there are better players to sign.
  24. Nagy sounds Marseille bound.
  25. http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2016/bournemouth-lodge-e13m-bid-for-georges-kevin-nkoudou/ Probably as a backup incase Ibe doesn't sign, or maybe not.
