Exactly this .... VVW made as many f**k ups on saturday as Maya has made all season and no ones on his case. Everyone, no matter how good they are, will make a mistake and with centre halves it's always glaringly obvious like Yoshida's back pass against United last season. tbf I think 'adequate cover' is doing him down a little bit. If he played as regular as Jose, I don't think it would be long before he become as reliable. This season, with more game time, he's sharper mentally and is proving himself to be a very good defender who wins headers, can tackle cleanly and is quick enough to catch your Vardy's etc. when they burst forward. He does get caught out of position sometimes but so does VVD.

I think you need to understand the definition of a defector ie. a player under contract who forces the clubs hand into a transfer move irregardless of the clubs wishes or best interests. Osvaldo and Taidir (loanee?) were sacked. Boruc saw out his contract (albeit the last year out on loan) so was a free agent and left with our blessing.

Returnees from long term injury usually get 60 odd mins with the under 23's to assess them, followed by a couple of first team appearances off the bench. I think think the £16 mil becomes £21-22 million after hefty add ons and performance bonuses ..... still a bargain for the next Ronaldo
