  1. Tell you what David, I've always thought exactly the same. Arsenal style of play would have suited him perfectly. I thought Wenger was crazy not to sign him, at a time when Arsenal were crying out for a midfield general to add some steel. They were a perfect match and I really think they could have won the prem by now if they'd signed him. Was a bit disappointed to see him sign for United instead .......... but not as disappointed as he must be now. Reckon he'll go to Everton in Jan if Mourhino doesn't give him some game time and then I'd be fecking gutted !!
  2. You've answered your own question. If he wasn't asked the same question repeatly he wouldn't have to keep justifying it. As for the Inter game, it was obvious to everyone that we were the better side so we have got the squad for it. Obviously we we're not getting the goals we deserve but the form of the strikers is a different issue from the squad rotation policy. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

  4. Hehe ....... not just me then..... you had to google it as well
  5.
  6. Spectrum ZX ?
  7. It says a lot that Arsenal had a hell of a time breaking down their defence last time out, yet we were ripping through it easily, time and time again. If it wasn't for Heaton we'd have scored a hatful. Now I'm not saying we're better than Arsenal. I wonder tho' if defenders aren't struggling to get their heads around Puels fluid attacking set up, which is why we're creating so many opportunities. Now our finishing seems to be improving a bit, we could be in for a very entertaining season.
  8. The thing is, with the whole England set up as it is, it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference who was playing. All of the starting 11 against Slovenia are top performers at their clubs .... put them in an England shirt and your lucky if 1 or 2 of them play anywhere near that level. It's weak leadership's the problem. Until we appoint a headstrong manager with the courage and guile to take on the media in the battle for hearts and minds, nothing will change. Someone like Ronald Koeman would turn it around but I can't imagine why he'd want the job .......... a big fat pay cheque might tempt him
  9. ..... but he's made Man Utd a force to be reckoned with
  10. Neither will Fraser Forster
  11. Now I'm really stretching my memory but I remember Ian Baird who was a year below me at St Marys (we used to throw him down the banks). Not sure if he played first team for us but he certainly did for Leeds. Don't really remember Nick Holmes as having 'skill to spare' but more a hard working, solid Milner type. What he lacked in natural talent he more than made up for by being versatile and always up for it. Good player tho' and with a mentally hard shot on him which was where a lot of his goals came from.
  12.
  13. Very impressive. He seems to have stepped it up a gear. He's been a lot more consistent for us.
  14. Good goal as well .... typical Schlong http://www.skysports.com/iframe/widget/video/MxeDVoNjE6xQU4w3HhwR-EHfEwLdO86t#ooid=MxeDVoNjE6xQU4w3HhwR-EHfEwLdO86t
  15. ahh, optimism ..... that's what I like to see
  16. ... but he did say that he was biased
  17. Everyones entitled to an opinion. I disagree but looking back through your posting history, it's probably not worth my time arguing the point with you
  18. Although the thread was inspired by the NI game yesterday, I think you'll find the subsequent 'rhapsodising' is for his consistently excellent performances with us.
  19. A bold claim but I wouldn't disagree. He might not be captain but he's a leader on the pitch and his workrate is phenomenal
  20. I assure you Professor, I really didn't trawl through pages and pages of posts the with the purpose of finding a stick to beat Alpine with. The page was offered up by chance, as a result of an unrelated search and curiosity prompted me to scroll through it. What struck me about this post was not particularly it's content, more it's familiar theme ie. press the panic button far too early, only to be proved wrong. . Now Alpine seems like an intelligent man to me but I find it amusing that a year on, despite the benefit of hindsight, he would make the ill considered decision to do exactly the same thing ..... and here we are again, a couple of months in and still no crisis. This was the sentiment I was trying to express in my post. Did it seem at the time, a good idea to be posting at 12.30am after the pub ? ... yes. Was calling Alpine a prize plum a bit flippant ? .... probably. Did the subject need to be brought up at all ? ... probably not. Why did I post it on the Jose Fonte thread ? .... I have no idea whatsoever. I'll go and take a long hard look at myself.
  21. Priceless. Just come across this post from Alpine from summer 2015 from the questions to put to Les Reed thread. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?54595-Les-Reed-interview-today&p=2213257#post2213257 Prize Plum
