  1. He was a decent keeper when he played for Celtic. I saw them play a lot in the Champions league when he was their keeper. When he was inform for Celtic against Barcelona (and against other opponents for them) he looked unbeatable from outside the box. He had a spring, could actually move side to side, could actually dive. Was actually alert and determined to protect his goal. He has always had no confidence to come off his line in any situation however. Which bewilders me. A keeper of his size should be looking to get off his line at every possible opportunity. A small keeper is desperate to get off the line early to close down the angle. If a big keeper does it he is very difficult to beat. He looks completely immobile right now and forgotten all the basics of keeping. When he played for Celtic he might have kept all three shots out against Man United. He's declined at a ridiculously rapid rate. I can't believe how bad he's been this season. He's potentially riddled with injuries and/or forgotten completely how to play goalkeeper.
  2. Boruc is showing Forster up right now. Bournemouth has done well as a unit to be fair. Forster has been absolute ****e this season. Quite clearly the worst keeper in the Prem. He isn't good enough for the Championship right now, let alone the Prem. He's been an embarrassment between the sticks all season long.
  3. They all left for the money. It wasn't anything to do with the club they were joining.
  4. Sports like Rugby and Cricket have been much better and fairer because of technology. Anyone that follows cricket closely will agree that it is infuriating to see a game with no DRS and have a player given not out when plumb lbw..and then got on to make a big score or match winning contribution… I find it ridiculous that the sport with the most money in it, and the most on the line, refuses to use technology. We got robbed in the final and still some of you don't want technology. In my view those that don't want technology have never played a sport at a high level, or never been a die hard fan. Having been both I want technology for offsides and something like 2 video challenges per team per game. It is important the better team wins. The officials shouldn't be able to influence the game so hugely. Cricket (with DRS) and rugby have it right.
  5. That should be saved 100% of the time by a 6 foot 7 goalkeeper at the highest level. Regulation save in my view.
  6. I'd play myself over Forster at the minute. Saints are welcome to sign me
  7. 2017 for me was the better atmosphere
  8. Nope. Not my problem you don't understand the basics of keeping. Positioning in relation to the goal, starting body position, ability to actually move side to side, reactions. Forster is trash.
  9. Man Utd had no fans from what I saw. From what I saw, and heard, it was just glory supporters waiting to see who won the game. Because I didn't hear any Man u fans until it went 3-2. If we went 3-2 up would the whole stadium may well have been supporting the Saints.
  10. Agree Long could be kept as an impact player. But will he be happy with that? Or will he create unrest? I'm not sure.
  11. I was behind the goal. Didn't hear Man United's fans once all game until it went 3-2. Our fans made the only noise for the first 87 minutes of the match. By the way, this was a special occasion. It was a cup final. Don't expect people to be that loud every game. I'm a die hard fan, but not many are and I can accept that. If you think our support is ever going to be that loud, and good, for a normal league game then you need to wake up and smell the coffee.
  12. As far as I'm concerned Davis is a better defender, and reader of the game, than Hojbjerg. He's better on the ball. Better than everything but aerials. Literally the only thing Hojbjerg has on Davis is height, and Hojbjerg has been prone to not staying with his man on set pieces. No way would I be picking Hojberg over Davis.
  13. Caceres in for Stephens. Hassen in for Forster. Other than that the same team and shape as Wembley.
  14. Not only does he have no footwork, no ability to get down, his confidence is shot. It looks like he knows he's going to concede and expected to concede all shots. And he's panicking. Instead the attitude to take is for him to think in his own head - I've got nothing to lose, I'm expected to concede, every save is a bonus. But he seems to just be panicking and having a brain freeze. At Wembley a top keeper might have kept out all three Man Utd goals..
  15. Forster is hopeless. Everyone knows it now, even opposition fans. We need to get rid of him. He needs to be dropped now.
  16. The big name player we need to get rid of is Forster. He is trash. Long and Rodriguez could also potentially be sold.
  17. Hard worker that likes to get in behind the defence, score goals and a cracking finisher. Focused on being the main goal scorer . This is purely based on him in a saints shirt and just what we need
  18. His skill set is best suited to wide right in a 4231 and I've been saying it for years. He played very well in the final.
  19. Here's the Road to the Premier League video for anyone that missed it at the time.
  20. Remembering the cracking video the club did when we returned to the Premier League I wondered if they had done one for Wembley (if not I was going to do one myself). The club's official channel hasn't. But upon searching I found this video by EdSaints1803 on youtube. Very well made video and a must watch for anyone going to the game. Thought I'd share it here.
  21. Clattenburg is a good ref. I don't find him a knob on the pitch either. He is sure of himself. He backs himself, and his own opinion. He has the balls to give it as he sees it (rightly or wrongly) and I can respect that. He makes mistakes, but they all do. You could say he's the best of a bad bunch, but people don't really appreciate how difficult it is reffing in the premier league. The tempo is fast, the crowd are pretty hostile. It shouldn't be forgotten that the ref can't see everything, he's human. He might have an impaired view from another player. He might get something in his eye at a vital moment. He might even lose track of the ball (they are human after all). They rely on their assistants and the same thing could happen to them too. In reality football needs to use technology more to help the officials out. An example of a big call that comes to mind that Clattenburg made against us was the 0-0 away at Norwich a few seasons back . Penalised Shaw for a soft penalty. But it was ballsy to give such a big call so late in the game. Shaw was naive to challenge the man (man was edge of box and going away from danger) like he did. I had no hard feelings about that one for example.
  22. Really bad that they aren't for sale. That's poor from the club.
  23. Obviously you need to bear in mind it's not often a centre back gets the opportunity to reach top speed. Look like Yoshida did it. Maybe it was tracking back after a set piece, or joining a counter attack (can't remember him ever joining a counter attack though to be honest). I'm not surprised by Long. When he's sharp, and looks fast, he looks really sharp and really fast. He must play with knocks, or niggles, quite often. As when he looks at peak fitness he is lightning fast. We shouldn't forget Long is a work-horse striker that chases lost causes and burns energy too. He'd be ridiculously quick if he hung forward like Ronaldo and didn't defend (As would Rodriguez).
  24. Yes I'd say so.
  25. Some players are never the same after serious injury. I'd be looking to sell him for a huge fee. We can bring in two top players, possibly 3, with the fee we would get for him. Would be sad to see him go, but it would make sense to improve the team and squad in the long run.
