  1. Also known as the Norwich/Watford/Fulham/WestBrom model.
  2. Most shocking thing about that video is that according to the advertising boards, they have a university. From what I was able to find out, this is their science department:
  3. Difference this year is many of the dud contracts are entering their final year, easier to move them on since the overall value of their oversized contracts aren't what they used to be and they no longer have long term security of a long contract. Of the deadwood, only Gunn and Elyounoussi have more than a year left, two years in their case.
  4. I'd take that. Just getting all 3 wages off the books is a win. This. Not many. We have got to get the goalkeeping situation sorted out once and for all, and the fact that we are rotating them shows that Ralph doesn't really rate any of them. The fact that all of them have been here longer than Ralph is absurd, hopefully the fact that Forster and McCarthy are entering the final year of their contracts means we will finally be able to do something about it.
  5. He won't cost anywhere close to that, a second choice keeper with 1 year left on his contract FFS. Whoever suggested £25m is smoking some very strong stuff.
  6. Since coming back, Redmond who had a year left on his contract and Austin who had 6 months when we signed him in January. Not really a market we go for.
  7. I'm convinced we are, no team with a clear first choice rotates goalkeepers the way we have been doing, probably done to put them in the shop window and hope there in interest in at least one of them. They are also both out of contract in 2022. Keeper may not be our highest priority, but it should be quite high, third or fourth after left back, an attacker and another full back.
  8. Let me be more precise... parachute payments combined with the massive tv contracts of the last 6+/- 2 years which result in relegated clubs not being as desperate to cut costs as they used to be mean their players are still very expensive, much more than they used to be.
  9. Parachute payments mean buying from newly relegated clubs isn't the bargain it used to be, almost as expensive as buying from another Premier League club. There is a reason a players like Buendia and Sarr weren't picked up by anyone last year. Buendia in particular would have been great at Saints.
  10. Depends on how you define striker. Mane, Tadic, Pelle and Long wasn't that long ago and is arguably the best set of forwards we have ever had.
  11. Just had a look on Google Maps. Never knew Arsenal and Watford were next door neighbours. They are so close to each other that they could even write messages on footballs taking the piss of each other and kick them over the fence.
  12. For some reason, you seem to think that buying players isn't part of a club's normal operation. Of course the loan was mainly taken because of covid, so that the club operates as normal during this period, that includes buying players as needed. However, we took out a loan for almost £80m when our matchday revenue, which accounts for almost all of the lost revenue, was worth just £17m in 2018/19. Why such a big loan? Half that would have been more than enough to cover losses due to the pandemic. Why do we need such a large amount of cash sitting in the bank account and other clubs don't? And have you seen how many players we will have under contract just over a year from now? Not even a full bench. Yet you think the club took a large loan just for the privilege of having it in the account and then paying it back with interest.
  13. £87m actually, look at the 4th post on page 13. Doesn't mean that we will spend it all on transfer fees obviously, but only Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool have more cash in the bank than us.
  14. I don't think he's wrong. We have 16 first team players under contract beyond 2022 and that includes Gunn, Valery, Vokins, Smallbone, Tella and Elyounoussi. Then there is the £80m loan. We didn't take it just to have it sitting in the bank account. I expect us to spend quite a bit this year to take advantage of the pandemic discounts and rebuild the squad. Then spend next to nothing in the next couple of years to pay back the loan.
  15. Shouldn't we have had a player sent off by now?
  16. Their own fans should be hoping that they do get a points deduction. Nothing will hurt the Glazers more than being denied Champions League money.

    Danny Ings

A 19 year old standout player for an Europa League quarterfinalist and the 24 year old top scorer of the Turkish League for a newly promoted side. These are hardly outlandish suggestions. And I doubt they are any good in Football Manager considering this is a breakthrough season for both, not that I would know, haven't played it since FM17.

Wrong. It is almost always a % of the profit.

No we don't. The transfer fee won't be much higher than the £20m we paid, if at all. No profit on the fee, so Liverpool get nothing.
  21. They are talking about Forster. Anyway, David Soria of Getafe is my pick. Only 1 year left on his contract too.
  22. Hilariously entertaining couple of days, Amazon should make a documentary. Call it All or Nothing: Superleague. Result was nothing just like Spurs' documentary, should have known better than to invite them, their Spursiness infected the whole thing.
  23. Congratulations on a league and cup double Leicester, assuming they manage to hold off West Ham.
