Out of the 3 possible outcomes - leaving this summer, leaving next summer on a free or signing a new contract - I would rate that as the least likely.

Nothing we didn't already know. Think this will come down to who blinks first, Ings says that if we don't sell him now we will lose him for free next year while Saints say that we don't believe he will take the risk of a serious injury right before he is out of contract, is just looking for the best possible terms on what will be his last big contract and will sign after the end of the window if no one comes up with a proper transfer fee.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Cartman replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
About as likely to be fit as Sam McQueen. No thanks. For all the shit Bednarek has been getting lately, he has outperformed Vestergaard for most of the 3 years they have been together. Played well for about half a season out of 3, he was even looking like an Elyounoussi, Hoedt, Lemina level flop this time last year, really not fussed about him leaving. -
Villa 😂 At least the other no-marks were the first to have dugouts 😂

Transfermarkt isn't very reliable when it comes to historical £ denominated transfer fees. Being a German site, the fees are all registered in euros and conversions are made using the current exchange rate, so to get the correct £ figure you have to look up the fee in euros and the exchange rate at the time of the transfer.

Maybe. Why Ings would want to go to Everton though I have no idea, moving from one midtable team to another and potentially spending most of his time on the bench watching DCL play.
-
"It is also risky for the player, because when you are a player who has injury problems and suddenly a big injury comes in the last season, it can be over very quickly. I think this is also not always a benefit, also a risk they take.” This is part of what Ralph said about Ings' contract situation, seems the club think he won't want to risk doing a Victor Valdes and picking up a serious injury right before he is out of contract and will sign the deal offered if he doesn't get a move. In any case, we need Armstrong even with Ings staying put, we are utterly toothless when he doesn't play.

No we didn't. We got as far as that squad would get us, it wasn't as good as this one and Croatia were much better then than now.
-
Not necessarily, we need a backup keeper. Hopefully Forster is on his way out.
-
Dinamo want £10m. Very gettable.
-
He's magnificent. Best CB in the world over the last 15 years for me.
-
He does have just a year left on his contract, give them Redmond in exchange.
-
One year left on his contract and shouldn't really be offered a new one. Can see a new first choice being signed along with someone else who can play at CB and some other position where we are short on numbers (RB, LB, CM).

Aren't we all?

I can't see us not buying a new GK. With Gunn on his way to Norwich we will have two GK, both of whom are out of contract in 2022 and may not even be here by the end of this window (and are shite). It's our biggest weakness after LB. Put it this way, when we bought Gunn, both Forster and McCarthy were already on the same contracts they are now, three years ago!

Yes, the same Everton that thought it was a good idea to make an average manager like Koeman one of the highest paid in the world only to sack him little more than a year later, then after having Allardyce until the end of the season paid Watford a huge amount in compensation to hire Marco Silva, only to go and sack him after 18 months when they realized he was shite. That is exactly the Everton I'm talking about, the midtable club who are without a manager again and don't seem to have much of an idea on who they should hire next. Easy to get a manager when you pay him far more than he is worth.
-
Why would he go to Villa? To finish midtable, same as here? And for that matter, why would we sell to them? It may have escaped some people's attention, but when it has come to first 11 players with more than 1 year left on their contracts, only Liverpool and Man Utd have bought from us. Villa are nobodies compared to them, disrespect fully intended. We have heard all of the big ambition bollocks before from Everton, Villa are more of the same, throw a load of money around just to finish 10th. Daft thread, even more so considering that it all based on two week old clickbait transfer speculation.

Because all of those were signed with the intention that they would eventually become starters, even if in some of those cases it didn't turn out that way there was a clear path to the starting lineup. A new right footed fullback would have his path very much blocked by KWP and we are not having a right footed player as first choice left back. It is a waste of money to be spending £10m on a player who will never be anything more than a backup when players can be found to perform that role for a fraction of the price and when that money is needed elsewhere. It is just a poor use of resources.
-
We are not paying £10m for a backup fullback, that is what we pay for first 11 fullbacks. For that money we can easily get 2 decent backups for each side.
-
We probably have Perraud signing in July, so won't be happening anyway. A definite yes. It will also give us 3 Brests, should make others envious.
-
Not coming here then 😂

They aren't getting Ralph, they can't afford to buy him or anyone else out of their contracts. And if they could, they would go for Potter.
-
Why the assumption that he is still on his previous wages? He was out of contract at the end of the season, he is likely on a much lower salary than before.
