  1. He says they lack ambition! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4317928/Romelu-Lukaku-wants-leave-Everton-win-trophies.html Next he will say that being the first to have dugouts is pointless. Everton fans will drop back down to Earth harder than the meteor that wiped out the dinossaurs:lol:
  2. A 4-3-3 (or diamond, it's the same thing) adds a central midfielder, we go from 2 to 3. We are playing 4-4-2 (or 4-2-3-1, it's the same thing) with Ward-Prowse on the right largely because we don't have anyone to play in the RF position. Redmond is better cutting in from the left as his left foot isn't that great, Tadic has played on the right more often than anyone and hasn't been particularly comfortable there, Boufal has been struggling for fitness and Sims is still just a kid. Expect us to revert to 4-3-3 next season, that is how we are supposed to play throughout the club. And we will not play Gabbiadini and Austin together at all. It wouldn't work, Austin would just get in Gabbiadini's way. He will probably be backup. Or sold, suspect his all round game is not good enough for what Puel wants.
  3. Ideally wanting a move to a Champions League club applies to most players doesn't it? Doesn't mean he will be offered such a move and clubs like us are next in line. Yeah, I saw the howler, pretty sure it's the only one he has made all season, Lloris did 2 in one game against City but we would still take him. That is one howler I don't think Forster would make though, it's too far from the goal line. Hrádecký has been one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga for 2 seasons now. He's not Neuer, De Gea or Courtois, but he's got a good all round game, there isn't really anything you can point to as a weakness (except maybe handling the ball outside the box). He is a large part of the reason Eintracht are so high up the table, they don't have a particularly good team, 6th with an attack that is almost relegation standard. And I want another Finnish keeper.
  4. https://svenska.yle.fi/artikel/2017/03/11/hradecky-kan-rora-pa-sig-funnits-viss-kontakt May well be moving this summer.
  5. Southampton join race for Manchester City outcast Joe Hart amid fears Fraser Forster will leave I'm terrified!
  6. Wouldn't work, Camacho and Romeu are at their best in the same role patrolling the area in front of the CB. It would be like having two Wanyamas when what we need is another Schneiderlin. His passing is a bit Wanyama level too. Dani Ceballos of Betis is a better option, 15 million euro release clause.
  7. Huh? You lost me. Unless you mean Forster will be number 1, in which case I will have no choice but to start picturing you with underwear on your head and two pencils up your nose.
  8. That was JRod all over again.
  9. 7 the last being a 1-0 against Swansea in mid February, in only the Arsenal game did he need to make any significant saves. That Swansea game was also the last clean sheet we kept last season. Not having a great season is being kind, he has been awful and needs replacing.
  10. You mean people want to keep Van Dijk and aren't bothered if Isgrove leaves? Ingrates! Hanging is too good for 'em! And JRod is rumoured to be of to West Brom anyway, so it is hardly a surprise he is on most sales lists.

Gabbiadini and Redmond who weren't here last season, Davis playing in a much deeper role than before and Tadic playing up front instead of wide on the left. So we are now scoring more because we are playing 4-4-2 which is what our players are used to even though only Ward-Prowse and Romeu can be said to be playing in roles that they have often played for us in previous seasons? Here I was thinking it was because we finally have a bloody good striker. And doesn't Les Reed's concept for the way we should play involve the first team and all the academy age groups playing 4-3-3? So if our players can only function in a 4-4-2, why did we sign them instead of others who are more suitable to a 4-3-3. Unless of course it is all nonsense and certain fans just channel their inner Mike Bassett and want 4-4-f**king-2 because that is how they think football should be played.
  12. Cáceres and Hassen are out of contract and there is nothing to suggest they are anything more than an Elia or Djuricic type short term fix. If Forster isn't shipped out then he should be number two with McCarthy sold, there is no way he should be first choice next season. Abysmal keeper.
  13. We need backup players but if we are going to improve the team with better players some of these backup players have to make way or we end up with far more players than we need. It also brings in transfer fees and reduces the wage bill. Clasie is exactly the sort of player we should be letting go. Why is Forster unlikely? I doubt Puel will put up with another season like this, either Forster leaves or he becomes number two with McCarthy leaving, his wages should not ensure him a place in the starting line up. My sale, release or loan list: Forster Clasie Gardos Long Davis Rodriguez Austin Cáceres Martina Reed Pied Isgrove Taylor Targett Hassen Gazzaniga Jason McCarthy Gallagher
  14. We do, to some extent. Not all of our own making, but just by virtue of being one of the better clubs in the most popular league in the world. More importantly though, it can be increased further by competing regularly at the top end of this league, if a new owner was to feel that the greater media exposure would be of benefit to them and worth the investment.
  15. Rather have a Far Eastern owner than an American. The latter almost always want to make big profits like in the NFL, MLB or NBA. Far Eastern owners are more of a mixed bag, there are bad ones but there are also Leicester's owners. The motivation to buy the club is more important, the best owners tend to want to use a club as a marketing vehicle to promote a much larger business they own (Leicester/King Power) or country they rule (Man City/Abu Dhabi & PSG/Qatar). Amer would likely fit the first definition, 5th largest private company in China, 190th largest company in the world, owned by the 9th richest man in China. In his case, he would have little motivation to use Saints to make a profit as it would be a drop in the ocean compared to his main business, but Saints do have something his company doesn't, global name recognition. In fact, he would have a greater motivation for Saints to be successful rather than profitable as it would increase the visibility of his main business.
  16. Inzaghi and Lineker were limited poachers, Gabbiadini is a much more complete forward than they were. Van Nistelrooy is the player he reminds me of.
  17. Van Dijk - 5 years left Bertrand - 4 years left Romeu - 4 years left Boufal - 4 years left Gabbiadini - 4 years left As opposed to: 2015 Schneiderlin - 2 years left Clyne - 1 year left 2016 Mané - 2 years left Wanyama - 1 year left Pellè - 1 year left 2017 Fonte - 1.5 years left The cost of keeping a player over one season is his annual salary plus the decline of his market value. This last part makes keeping a player in the penultimate year of his contract expensive and is his last year extremely expensive. Unlike previous years, this time our best players aren't in a position to force their way out by making it too expensive for us to keep them.
  18. Do to him what we did to Boruc, buy a new keeper and make it clear to Forster that he will be number two at best. He might choose to leave. Newcastle will probably be back, they love a local player, Palace if they stay up might be interested, Bournemouth too if they don't get Begovic. But Forster has to go, we can't afford to have him playing like this for another season. Not only does it ruin another season, but it makes it harder to pull the wool over the eyes of other clubs and convince them to buy. He still has a reputation as an England international who put in a great performance for Celtic against Barcelona, it might survive one bad season, it probably won't survive two. Lukas Hrádecký of Eintracht Frankfurt please Les, one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga, only Neuer is clearly better, one year left on his contract, 27 years old and what Saints supporter wouldn't want us to have Finland's top keeper again.
  19. In his dreams. What has he done to deserve the job? And after his spell at Valencia he would be lucky to get a top flight job there. Now Poch... if the Espanyol thing doesn't get in the way.
  20. I'll play. In: Lukas Hrádecký - GK - Eintracht Frankfurt Mouez Hassen - GK - Nice Çağlar Söyüncü - CB - Freiburg Youssouf Sabaly - RB/LB - PSG Lorenzo Pellegrini - CM - Sassuolo Kerem Demirbay - CM - Hoffenheim Thorgan Hazard - RF/LF/CF - Borussia Mönchengladbach Out: Forster Clasie Gardoș Long Davis Rodriguez Tadić Alex McCarthy Martina Reed Pied Isgrove Taylor Targett Gazzaniga Jason McCarthy Gallagher

Did you fear Koeman would take us down when he was appointed? If not, why not considering Puel has a far superior record as coach before joining us than Koeman did. Or is that just your default position whenever someone new comes in?
  23. In spite of him rather than because of him. Our clean sheet record is down to the outfield players and Puel, we concede very few chances.
