  1. Rather blow our budget on one really good midfielder than two players. We don't play in european competitions so 20 first team players is enough.
  2. Can only go off FM20 but it says Forster is on €81.9K per week and McKennie €48.4K per week. Of course that is still way more than Adams, Djenepo and Salisu before we bought them, probably KWP too, and like you say, he would expect an increase which would take him to Hoedt, Lemina wage territory, a problem if like them he ends up being sh!te.
  3. I wouldn't say he is on as much a Forster, but he will be on fairly high wages which would force us to give him Hoedt, Lemina type money. The signings we have made this and last year suggest that, at least initially, they will be on relatively low money. Gives us room to renew their contracts and more importantly, if they flop they won't be such a nightmare to get rid of. We should get Enock Mwepu, can't go wrong with a Salzburg player. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/enock-mwepu-201920-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics

By the looks of things he is retiring and becoming a partner in what looks to be some sort of academy. Nothing to worry about. https://www.instagram.com/p/CDwCc_gpDr0/ https://www.facebook.com/G10aljaririsports/
  5. Yes, I know you meant Gao is a horrific owner, that is what I am questioning. If Kat was still the owner, the clowns she put running the club after ousting Cortese may well have sunk us by now. Look at where we were going until Gao replaced everyone in late 2018. Speak? Who cares? Actions speak louder than words, Mansour and Abramovich never say anything either. The club is now in better shape than when he bought us, ultimately that is what matters. Not invested? The list of football club owners or potential owners who will put their own money into a club with a £150m turnover that is competing with, among others, 6 clubs with at least 3 times the turnover is very small. The days someone like Jack Walker could come in, throw a few million quid and win the league are long gone. The only owners now putting their own money in are either sovereign wealth funds or in the lower leagues. Dodgy sponsorship? What does that matter? If they go bankrupt we get another sponsor. Half the league is sponsored by random betting companies I have never heard of anyway, who the hell are ManBetX who sponsor Wolves? Need a change at the top to really do anything other than hover in the mid-table/relegation places? Sure, us and 13 other clubs in this league (make that 14 with Kroenke and maybe 15 with ENIC). But until the China Investment Corporation take a liking to us it is not going to get much better no matter who owns us. It could be a hell of a lot worse though.
  6. If his form since the restart is more than just a purple patch and that of a player that is now fully adapted, then Adams is capable of 15+ goals over a season. No guarantee Watkins will perform at this level either, or at least perform better than Adams.
  7. Horrific owner😂. We'd be in the Championship and bankrupt if Kat and her useless minions were still running the show, imagine if we had been relegated with the likes of Forster, Lemina, Hoedt... still on the books. We don't spend beyond what we generate from a sale because we don't make any operational profit due to our inflated wage bill. And if your definition of a good owner is someone who will put his own money in to a business which has a £150m turnover, well... there are not that many sovereign wealth funds around. I mean, genuine question, other than throwing his own money at us, what exactly would you like Gao to have done differently. Since he bought the club Krueger, Wilson and Reed have all been kicked out and replaced, Hasenhüttl hired. And bear in mind the dross we signed in 2017 and 2018 were the responsibility of the aforementioned useless minions, even if Gao did buy the club before some of them had been signed.
  8. Comparing quality level, not place in our pecking order. Cork had Wanyama and Schneiderlin for competition and Hojbjerg isn't anywhere near as good as they were. And lets be honest here, Spurs are skint and the reason they want Hojbjerg is because he solid, experienced, good age and his contract makes him relatively cheap, not because he's a world beater. Kind of like Cork when he left.
  9. Rather get their other Zambian Enock Mwepu. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/enock-mwepu-201920-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics
  10. I have an issue with this... player trading here isn't really "trading" but player sales, player purchases are being grouped under operating expenses. Truth is, our loss in 2018-19 can largely be put down to spending the Van Dijk money that we didn't spend in 2017-18 (hence the profit that year despite the large drop in revenue excluding player sales). In Swiss Ramble's analysis on twitter, our EBITDA for 2017-18 was £3m and for 2018-19 £-4m, so when excluding player trading (both sales and purchases) we are more or less breaking even.
  11. And a raise 🤑
  12. When did BLM take over Bournemouth? 🤔
  13. Well, obviously. The question is whether we get a 4th CB if he does go. Think it would be a waste of money, 4th choice CBs when playing with 2 are only slightly more likely to play than 3rd choice GKs. Just give the squad place to Klarer. On the other hand, if we were to further upgrade the first 11 beyond the obvious CB, RB and CM, who would be the most likely to make way? In other words, what would a McCarthy, Bednarek, Bertrand, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Redmond, Adams and Ings ranking look like?
  14. The rules themselves are a result of corruption, brought in due to lobbying from the elite club cartel seeking to protect their positions at the top of the food chain. Any attempt to undermine FFP is fine with me.
  15. New signing New signing New signing New signing New signing New signing Ward-Prowse New signing New signing New signing Ings Sounds about right. Since the November international break when we switched to 4-4-2, we have failed to win 7 home games: Southampton 0 : 1 West Ham Cedric beaten to a header at the back post, no one marking Haller, should have been Hojbjerg or Stephens Southampton 1 : 1 Crystal Palace Stephens beaten in the air by Tomkins Southampton 2 : 3 Wolves First goal Stephens tries and fails to win the ball in midfield leaving the defence exposed, made worse by Hojbjerg slipping high up the pitch earlier in the move and not being able to provide cover. Second goal weak attempt at winning the ball by Hojbjerg leaves Ward-Prowse having to mark two players and poor positioning by Stephens, too far to the left having then to throw himself into a tackle and give away a penalty, Cedric was close by but he had to watch for Jimenez further to the right, it was ultimately Stephens' responsibility. Third goal Hojbjerg slow to get back to win the loose ball from the Bednarek/Traoré duel, could have beaten Jimenez to it if he had been quicker, Stephens didn't provide cover to stop the ball from reaching Traoré and also played him onside then I don't know what the fück Hojbjerg was doing, casually jogging and waving his arms about while Jimenez runs past him busting a gut to get to the end of Traoré's pass. Southampton 1 : 2 Burnley Bizarre defending from Ings from the corner for the first, well played by Vydra for the second Southampton 0 : 1 Newcastle Djenepo sent off after 28 minutes, Valery mistake for the goal Southampton 0 : 2 Arsenal Poor pass from McCarthy for the first, failed to save it properly for the second which came from a free kick caused by Hojbjerg's poor pass that also got Stephens sent off Southampton 1 : 1 Brighton Vestergaard ball watching and allowing Murray to flick the ball on from a throw-in, Romeu should have been more aware of Maupay and better positioned to prevent the ball from reaching him Conclusion based on these 7 games: Bednarek is fine, Stephens is often a liability and should be the one to lose his spot to Salisu, Hojbjerg won't be missed. Also defence isn't entirely to blame for dropping points in these games, we only conceded 1 goal in more than half of them although improvement might come even without signing any attacking players through better performances from Adams (first season at this level, much improved after the lockdown), Obafemi (only 20 and been quite effective off the bench) and Djenepo (only 22, first season here, looked promising at the start but injuries got in the way).
  16. Same, this time last year I was thinking it was £20m that weren't very well spent. Not just the injuries but he only scored 4 non-penalty goals in 1668 minutes in the league. To put it into perspective, Adams this season also only has 4 but in 1107 minutes. Ings may well be the most improved player in the league, it is easy to forget that he wasn't particularly impressive last season.

    Adam Lallana

Mané did knuckle down for an extra season, could have gone to Man Utd in 2015. And this from a player who didn't really want to come here in the first place, he wanted to go to Klopp's Dortmund but that move fell through for some reason.
  18. Koopmeiners for me. https://footballbh.net/2020/03/21/teun-koopmeiners-2019-20-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics/ https://footballbh.net/2020/05/07/eredivisie-2019-20-teun-koopmeiners-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics/
  19. Wan-Bissaka! No? Alexander-Arnold!
  20. Position? Nationality? League?
  21. Agree to sell PEH for £30m and buy KWP for £20m but keep the deals separate. Let the PEH deal go through then buy Maehle.
  22. Might be more than that. That £35k a week was taken from the AS report (€2m/(52*1.107) = £34.75k) but I know that Italian media always quote salaries net so you would have to add tax to get to the cost to the club. No sure if Spanish media to that too but if they do then with the top rate of income tax at 45% £34.75k/(1-0.45) = £63.18k. This is where the whole thing from the French media that he would end up at Rennes because he wouldn't get a work permit is nonsense. Salisu doesn't meet the criteria to be automatically granted a Governing Body Endorsement but the FA Exceptions Panel always grant one for players like him.
  23. 1) Player of the season - Ings, though I might have given it to JWP before the restart 2) Young player of the season - Obafemi 3) Breakthrough of the season - Smallbone 4) Improvement of the season - Ings. Last season was a bit up and down due to injury 5) Signing of the season - KWP 6) Worst performance by a player of the season - Bertrand vs Leicester. There are 10 ways to have a worse performance than getting sent off after 10 mins and that is getting sent off in mins 0 through 9 7) Best performance by a player of the season - McCarthy vs City 8 ) Best result of the season - Leicester away 9) Worst result of the season - 🤬 10) Surprise result of the season - City at home. Wouldn't have been so unexpected had it been away... but at home?!!!!11!!!!!
