See, this is when you discredit yourself. You know that Nigel took us up through the leagues with a vastly superior squad to anyone else until we reached the top flight, without looking, I would imagine that his win % is better than that of Poch and Koeman too. You are comparing apples with oranges and look a fool for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bet you shout FOOOOOORWAAAAARD!!!! too during the games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

By that logic, Mane going to Liverpool was a step down in the summer? Let's not play silly buggers here, Saints are a step up from Bompey in the same way that Liverpool are a step up from Saints. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Please enlighten me as to what other stats I should be looking at? Apart from the obvious goals scored and goals conceded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A stat that I would dearly love to see is goals conceded from 1st shot on target. It happened again today and I'm convinced it's over 50% of our games this season. Anyway, useful stuff above but mostly ignored our increasingly entitled and ridiculous "fans". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yet you all want the Hull manager who lost to a shocking Sunderland side who had just been relegated. This was a tricky game because many teams who have just been relegated tend to win their next games as they play with a bit more freedom. It's impossible to win with some people. Or, you give the manager the appropriate amount of time to create the team he wants to create. We were more than a match for a fantastic Chelsea side tonight, played some excellent stuff and for me he has to stay next season where we will see exactly what he wants from a football team. If after that, we have moved backwards, then we can take a view. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not about whether it was good business or not, it's about whether it was good for the club, and more importantly, the first team. When someone is poisoning the moral of the team, you find a way to let them go and make the best out of it possible. Fonte has done well for us over the years, but make no mistake, the only reason that he stayed with us as long as he did, was not out of loyalty, it was simply because no one showed an interest in him until the summer just gone. Had anyone "bigger" than Saints come in for him, do not for a second think that he would have not wanted to leave. Fonte is gone, it was the correct thing to happen for all parties. We can now look forward to bloody a terrific prospect in Jack Stephens, and/or buying a new CB in the summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Absolute twaddle. People rightly thought Leicester would go down when they were losing every week well over a month ago. Clearly now, everyone agrees Boro are the likelier team to go down. What is it with people on this forum making misleading posts and misrepresenting the facts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Redmond shortlisted for EA player of the month!
meatball replied to Saint-Fred's topic in The Saints
Most chances created by an English player in the premier league. Poor finishing from his teammates is the more likely cause for his zero assists during that time. Keep flogging that Henry horse though, even though he was used as a central striker/false nine for all of three games. As has been said by other people, he is not playing as a winger, he is part of a front three. The switch to two anchor midfielders has given him less defensive responsibilities therefore we are seeing more energy available for attacking. Please don't let any of these facts get in the way of your agenda though, I find your mad ramblings invigorating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Brilliant. Redmond was one of our stand out players on Sunday. Keep up the pointless agenda though, its most entertaining. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most teams are crap against Spurs in the first half. They press so high and make it very difficult, I thought we were ok in the first half. If Tadic converts that sitter and/or is awarded the stonewall penalty, then it would have been completely different. It's weird that you focus on the negatives of the first half rather than the positives. Second half we were excellent and had Shane been more adept at staying onside we could well have won that. We had only slightly less possession (0.2%) and passing wise we were pretty much exactly the same. I thought we were much more adventurous than them, who seemed to have a tactic of lumping it up to Dele. It might be rose tinted glasses but I stand by my comment about there not being a gulf in class. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not really "end of" is it. We were the better side against a fantastic Spurs team. 2-2 would have flattered Spurs I think. It is clear that there is no gulf in class between the two sides and I for one am exited about what's to come from this team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All this talk about loyalty and being a great servant. He was asked by a friend of mine recently who's not interested in football why he never left Southampton when many other players did, his answer was that no one came in for him. The first offers he got were this summer gone, and low and behold, he asked the club to leave. He was a great player for us, but make no mistakes, he was not loyal, and the first sniff of a move, he tried to take it. At least I'm told that he's actually unhappy at West Ham because he hates the way they play and thinks that the management don't know what they are doing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Whereas for you, every player that leaves, all of a sudden is infinitely better than what they were when they were here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The whole episode as I see it is a disgrace. There are multiple incidents surrounding this that the authorities have ignored, and the punishments handed out have gone the opposite of how they should. The way I saw each incident as it happened with my % certainty on the accuracy of each statement. 1. Zlatan attempts to stamp on Mings leg whilst he jumps over a challenge by Mings on Rooney. 85% certain 2. Zlatan immediately feigns injury in an attempt to get a card for Mings or to counter suspicion of his stamp on Mings. 85% certain Mings attempts to jump over Zlatan to reach the ball and seemingly attempts to stamp on his head at the same time 55% Certain Zlatan gains revenge for alleged stamp by forcefully elbowing Mings in the face during an aerial dual. 99.99% certain Surmon reacts the way most teammate would and confronts Zlatan, in the process slightly pushing him in the chest, with nowhere near enough force to knock a child over, let alone arguable one of the most physically imposing players in the league. 90% certain Zlatan falls over after being "pushed" by Surmon in a deliberate attempt to get the player sent off. If the above is even close to being accurate then the ensuing punishments handed out are pathetic and shameful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have a look at Boufal's involvement in Redmond's second and then say he was a poor signing. The guy is class, just needs a consistent run of games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not true, certainly with Redmond, the only people too stupid to see how good he is are Saints fans. The rest of the football community rate has m very highly. His work rate is unbelievable, now he has added confidence to his came and we are seeing more end product. If people actually put their pitchforks down long enough to watch him properly they would realise he is going to be a top player. As for JWP, also rated highly by everyone except Saints fans. I'm told Man Utd are looking at him closely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They know that his value will either hold, or increase over the next two years. Our finances are much better now, only risk in not selling is serious injury. My gut is he will be here for at least one more year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nathan Redmond. Average championship player. That goal just showed everyone exactly why we bought him. Really starting to prove the baying mob wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So short sighted. Why does it have to be a lesson learned? You could look at it as what needed to be done was done in order to bring the club to the position it is in now, young, talented, hungry players, all on long contracts, all happy, all pulling together. This was not possible before, now the nucleus of the squad is there and there is no need to sell unless it absolutely suits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Like most people on this forum, most other forums and other social media platforms. It was rife with negativity about this signing. No one could look beyond the three goals this season stat. If people spent some time actually looking into him, they would have realised that he stood every chance of being successful. In starting so well, he has the fans onside for some considerable time now so hopefully any lull will not be met with the usual booing the likes of Redmond receives. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let us not forget that we have yet to really see what Boufal can do. I'm convinced he will be better player for us than Mane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh the delicious irony of demanding proof for a statement and then making a statement that you have no proof for. There are so many variables to this situation that simply saying it was the fault of one or the other is narrow minded to say the least. What would be great is if everyone could accept that nobody is perfect and flipping well move on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
