Reminds me of the time when this entire forum bar a few demanded that Yoshida never play for Saints again after we lost 3-0 away at Everton. It is now widely acknowledged that Maya has been a solid player for us and a very good defender (albeit with a few limitations). The overreacting about Hoedt is just a weird forum mob thing which doesn’t really fit in with the general opinions of many other Saints fans who don’t frequent forums or social media. Hoedt has been poor at times and good at times, pretty much the same as the entire squad. Let us not forget the outstanding performance against Swansea to help keep us up. Based on the highlights, much of the good we did in the second half came from excellent link up play for Carrillo. Played Sims in and played the 1-2 with Redmond that nearly resulted in a goal. Works tirelessly and throws himself at everything to try and get a goal, which will come soon. Hasn’t he already got 2/3 assists? Glad to see everyone writing him off already though. Precisely this. What was key was Boufal’s reaction to JWP scoring. When the foul was given Boufal grabbed the ball and immediately turned toward JWP to tell him he wanted to take it. I like that about him, he is not afraid to stick his neck in the line and is always trying to make things happen. If anyone thinks the club (or any club) would go into advanced negotiations with another club for a player, only to find said player thinks they are too sh1t anyway should have their head assessed. The black box does exist, I know a number of people who have seen it. It’s just a room with some sophisticated software and lots of screens. The thing about propaganda is that much of it can be true. What do you expect the club to do? Feed stories to the paper saying “we’re screwed and we don’t know what we are doing”?
