  1. Was also there with my Dad(RIP). What a day. Behind the goal and the noise from the packed terraces..... As has been said, we could only dream of the result we got a few weeks later!
  2. Europe almost confirmed!!! Sorry but that is a statement that someone like Brenda or Wedge head would make. There are 10 games (30 pts) to play for. Stoke are on a run and are just 7 pts behind, Swansea just behind them. Now 7 pts in front with 4 games to go, now that is when Europe is almost there, NOT with 10 games to go. On the flip side, we are just 5 pts from 3rd, so NOTHING is almost confirmed. Anyone who has followed football for a while (seasons) will know that 10 games is a long long time, in which lots of twists and turns can happen. The fat lady is not even clearing her throat yet. SO much hard work still to be done.
  3. As we face the scousers first, Them. When we come to face the North London lot, then I will want to beat them. One game at a time.
  4. Born in The General, and my Dad took me to my first game in 1968, there can only be one team! Was lucky enough to be at Wembley in 76, (thanks to Dad queueing overnight for tickets), there have been so many highs, so many lows, but that is what being a Saints fan brings! Never a dull moment.

    JayRod

Think you`ll find he is at least 2 months away from match fitness, maybe more.
  6. So 10/10 for looking like a relegation season? 8/10 for top half finish? Strange.
  7. My Dad (RIP) first took me to the Dell for a reserve game mid 60`s, from that point on I was Saints. Been some highs, real highs, that make the lows (and the lows can be very low) worth it. We have had some great times, great teams, and great games, we have also had the not so good. That is what being a Saints supporter is all about, living with the lows, laughing at the lows (WBA monday) and make the most of the good times. What better way to spend a saturday (home or away) than with your mates, having a few beers, shouting your heart out and seeing Saints win. That is what Football is all about.
  8. Yep I was there that day.....b***** Paul Randall . Didn`t get on the pitch though I behaved myself!
  9. 51 - Chandlers Ford (now) 1st game 1969 1-1 Sunderland (I think) 1St away 1976 Bristol Rovers 3-2 League or 1976 semi at Stamford Bridge
  10. SaintRichmond, please could you print a table where we were 8pts clear? My memory maybe going as I can only remember us being 5pts clear this season. I may be wrong, but as said I`m sure we have been 5pts clear this season, not 8.
  11. Bus 16 for me...stadium
  12. Great post Old Codger. Many on here should take note. Best post I`ve seen on this site for a while. Thanks.
  13. saturday will give us a bit more of an idea.......tonight is a bit too soon too make any kind of judgement. He`s had 2 training sessions!!! I think he`ll do a great job, thought the interview was very good, but he is not a miracle worker!!
  14. Having Lost my Father 3 years ago, I know how you feel. Condolences to you and your family RIP.
  15. Going Very well. Could improve slightly, but then again who is perfect? We are lucky to have a chairman like him...IMHO.
  16. Yep still waiting for tickets ordered on the first day!!!!
  17. You beauty!!!!! Thanks very much for that number, what a saver. Been on the phone since 8:30, haven`t done any work!!!! Come on you Reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Quite simple really, no saints = no interest.
  19. I have to agree with the majority, I `m afraid we are down, or as good as. We jsut have no home form at all, which from previous relegation threatened seasons we all know you need to stay up. The team seem to have no fight in them, no passion, again qualities you need to stay up, we just have not got what it takes to survive. What`s worse, unless things change before the start of next season, we could be talking about a further decline in S.F.C. this time next year. Things have to get to rock bottom before we start to move up, the question is how far down is rock bottom?
  20. For all those posting coments that were not at the game..... you base your postings on hearsay. At times, (and this is the problem) we played some graet football, yes we can play, the goal we did score was superb, almost undefendable, yes we could have scored more, and yes Wednesday could also have scored more. DId we throw it away? Probably not, as over 90 mins they probably deserved a point. Could we have won? Quite simply yes. Would I rather watch Saints this season than last? YES, yes and yes again. Can they get better? Yes Yes we need a striker, but we are skint, we could do with a real leader as well in the Alan BAll mode, but we are skint, all in all it was a point today, not a defeat, it was a decent game to watch, and the boys are OK. If you want to see Saints lose, if you want Saints to lose, then IMHO just be quiet.
  21. Funny, I thought we were all Saints fans, therefore we would want Saints to win every game, however unlikely. So yes I want Saints to win on Tuesday, and every time they play.
  22. Thank you for all your messages. I am aware I`m not the originator of this thread, but as Ian`s brother I also wish to say thank you. Once again I thank SFC for the whole time we were there last Thursday, they really could not have done more. My Dad would`ve loved the fact that the ashes were carried onto the pitch through the players tunnel, and yes, he`ll be there (as he was last night) for all the home games, once again. Once again, thank you all.
  23. Unfortuneately think Saints 1 Brum 3
