1: Bobby Stokes in 76 2: Le Tiss in the last Dell game V Arsenal 3:, 4:, 5: and many more special goals that I can`t put them in order, but a few are Lambert v skates, Mane`s last kick winner at QPR, Omerod in the Semi at Villa Park, Le Tiss last minute free kick winner V villa at the Dell and so many more, always good to go mental when the goal means something:)

not got mine yet

Build up thread, Why bother, the players clearly don`t, Arse to win 4-0. After another gutless/spineless/leaderless shower from the "players" wearing a saints kit.

Kat got all her money back and an awful lot more. Gao will make sure he gets his money back.....vvd transfer money/parachute payments/player sells he will cover his loan. He can then sell for whatever he likes for a profit (say 30M) which isn’t bad for a year. Problem is there won’t be much left for the new owner or for us to support. The only ones that actually care are the fans, and I can’t actually get annoyed about it any longer. We are going down, the question is how far?
-
I was hoping for a result today, but after this total **** I’m afraid all hope has gone. We are championship next season. And worse than that I actually fear for survival there as well. This time next year we could be looking at another relegation under this leadership/board/management. I want to say things can only get better, but I really do fear that things are going to get an awful lot worse yet.

Lemina At last we find a keeper Better away from home Defence seems OK(ish) The last few games kept going till the end

No Leadership No Fight No Passion No Confidence No Idea

I was at that Wimbledon game, it was cold that night. Remember it well the fences at the back of the terraces being taken down by Saints fans and bloody great bonfires being lit on the terraces to keep warm:) That was until the old bill tried to put them out, to be fair they had got to quite a size by then! Bucharest wasnt so much cold as wet, certainly not as cold as many of the games mentioned here!

Nicely summed up. Although I would say our CBs are championship at best. Our attack options are the same, championship, attacking mid options as you say well below premier league (far too inconsistent and far too often way below best form), other mid options, bottom half prem, full backs, mid/top half table, gk, mid table, back up options championship at best. All in all after having a top half table/european candidates squad to this is appalling recruitment, and just shows why we are where we are. Are we really better than 18th? Which games have we played that have said we are good? We have been poor all season, that is because we are a poor side, with poor leadership and poor behind the scenes leadership. IF we stay up, and it is a really big IF, massive surgery is indeed required.

This is a better idea. At kick off and the first 10 mins home support stays crammed in the concourse, it would be shown on TV, commented on and makes a point, especially when the fans en-masse appear and then support the team.

This has to be he worst transfer window yet. We really needed at least a couple of good signings to lift the morale of everyone, we have a striker (with a goal record just marginally better than longs) and that`s it. No CD to replace VVD, no fast threat up front (we still have not replaced Mane FFS!) and no threat from midfield. Mind you with the current manager it doesn`t matter anyway as he would only play any decent player out of position or in an unsuitable formation. The real problem lies with the DOF and the Board, they are clueless. This transfer window could really signal the end of our premier status. SO a big fat 0/10

Under the current set up, with no new faces, will we lucky to reach 30 pts. IF things change then you would hope that we may get more than that, but we are looking at relegation, it has been total mis-management from the very top down.
-
If we really want change, and want the board to know the extent of our feelings, then it is very simple, we stay away. Next game live on sky, just head down to the pub and watch us lose there. Sky tv panning round an empty St Mary`s, except for the spurs fans, send s a powerful message. And without any fear of punishment to the club. But will we do that, can we organise that, I doubt it. Personally (I am an ST holder) I would stay away, I may anyway, as the football is dross, leadership right from the top of the club is non existent, and half the players don`t care. So if nothing changes, just stay away. Simple

How many points do we need, an easy answer! 1 more than the bottom 3

How about Shilton? Resigning Channon these two spring to mind straight away

A good team, but it has been said many times on different threads, Alderweirld was NEVER our player. Decent sub bench as well. Maybe replace Toby with Chambers and add Pelle to the Bench?

Just buy a bottle of coke, drink (or pour away half) top up with rum... booze on coach:)

Good Man Jimmy. None of us saw it coming, so fair play for keeping your word. Cancer Research gets my vote.

Best thread on here for a long time. So many great posts. Things were so different then. As posted earlier I started going to the first team games late 60s, had been going since 66 to reserve games, but didn`t really get to an away game until early 70s. Was lucky enough to be there 01.05.76, by which time home and as many away games as possible were being attended. Looking back on it now, if you weren`t there you wouldn`t believe it!! All the smoke from various ciggys, certainly from mid 70s keeping an eye out for the "lads" from the opposition support, the total lack of real thought/planning when going away (get on a train-tickets always seemed available, get a lift sometimes even hired a coach!!), the queues outside the dell, like others can remember queuing from 12-12:30, the time it took to get back home (for me that was Winchester) this whole thread has brought back some wonderful memories, and you just can`t stop smiling whilst reading the posts. Here`s to some more great memories in the coming seasons!!!

I went to my first game in the late 60`s, and it was much the same, I could take a small stool in so I could see !! And the crush when we scored:) We were of course a top division team then, so every game was packed and through out the 70`s you witnessed some very unpleasant scenes in both league division 1 and league division 2 as they were called!

Was in a hotel bar in Malaysian Borneo in 2009, we were in decline heading for league 1, and in walks a being wearing the skate shirt. After sitting there having a couple of beers and listening to him telling anyone who was prepared to converse with him that p****muff would be champions league winners, biggest team in Europe and that they would win the premier league within 4 years I had to go across and told him to enjoy it whilst it lasted. After getting a mouthful of abuse (most of it gibberish) and seeing him being told to leave the bar I can only think back and think "who the f*** is laughing now"!!! Also met a Saints fan on that holiday, spent a very enjoyable evening drinking and talking about the good times, little were we to know what was going to happen in the next few years!!

Again Sincere condolences to his family. Like others that knew him when I found out yesterday morning I was shocked and saddened. The highlights with Malc (Rossy), sharing a 12hr bender with him in Bucherest before the Steau game, sharing with him in Newcastle, (turned out to be a 2 day bender!) he was always to be seen with a smile on his face and looking forward to the game and a Saints win. A very good bloke, and a really honest, genuine person. He will be missed. R.I.P Rossy. Saints did the business for you last night.

Alps could have meant he is off to the African Nations cup........along with Big Vic. Thats a month without the 2 of them.

I was fortunate to meet Jim Steele at Gatwick one evening. We were both staying at one of the North Terminal airports before getting early morning flights. What a gent. He came over to talk football as I was watching the FA cup results coming in (Forest were beating Man city that day) and he mentioned that it would be great if the same thing happened to the other Manchester club (we were playing them the next day). And that was that!!! So much for an early night!!! Spent 6 hours drinking beer with him (and his wife), listening to stories about his time with Saints, about his departure from Saints, how Ossie "stole" the FA cup, so many stories, what a great evening. A genuine bloke who loves football, and who still loves the Saints, and who can still drink a great deal of beer!! I was there for a number of his games (including the Final and the Anderlecht games) and could remember some of his "robust" tackles, when they were mentioned a broad smile appeared!!!
