MLT has proven to be way more right than wrong. You just have to accept you were lied to over covid...you're being lied to over climate change and the MSM and your own government can't be trusted. Then things start to make sense. Give Ricky some slack.. you never know.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg
ziggee replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Showed a lot of spirit second half. Bree looks a decent signing. -
Nice to see some well timed and effective substitutions for a change. Fantastic performance all round.

The whole country disappeared down a rabbit hole into Wonderland during the hysterical Covid response. Matt just tried to shine some light down that hole. He wasn't always right, and his comments on Bucha were ill judged, but in general he has been more right than our MSM.

Just another example of the madness that has engulfed the world. I'm sure the two keepers wouldn't have known they were ill without the test.. But the game will probably be decided by it.

Sweden has the lowest Covid deaths in Western Europe because of the level of natural immunity in the population. It's also the reason we're doing better than most. We need an open & honest debate now, as to whether this constant testing is serving any purpose. Most of the players forced to isolate are not ill, they're working out in their home gyms, & doing laps of the pool to keep fit (obviously there are exceptions), but no one dares say so. It's the same story with other professions forced to test..teachers (&kids), NHS staff, care workers etc.

The conspiracy theorists (who I think can now reasonably be categorised as people fed up with being right) were saying that Vax Passes were rushed through, before it became clear that omicron was essentially a cold; and had actually been spread rapidly round the globe by vaxxed travellers. If they really are about controlling a virus,(and not about creating division & digital ID's) the Orwellian Vax Passes should end immediately. I don't expect it, and I don't know when I shall go to a match again.

Supporting the players in taking the knee

Actually it's the liberal/left that have made matters worse with their usual sanctimonious stupidity. They have created more division in a situation, that in this country, was moving broadly in the right direction. -

If the imperialists had been black skinned, would they have treated the white people they colonised any differently? No, because we're all bound together by the fact we're Human. Equally good equally bad: products of natural selection & survival of the fittest. Thankfully civilisation has lifted us up enough to see Man's inhumanity to Man, and we should embrace that which binds us. We all matter. -
Supporting the players in taking the knee

Is anyone thinking about why the rise in abuse. I don't think the kneel is helping the situation. How does a poor white kid feel, when BLM is displayed at every match? The PC media are in a bubble: real people see it for the sham it is. Saying and thinking that all lives matter is not racist. F'ball should stick to the Kick It Out initiative. BLM is political and should not be part of sport. -
His performance at Anfield in the League Cup semi; with a rookie Jack Stevens next to him, was one of the greatest Centre Half displays I've seen from a Saints player.

I know it’s a nuisance, but it looks as though we’re all going to have to get behind the team tomorrow and see if we can get some kind of result. Make no mistake, the players are good enough; and yes the Manager’s learning on the job. But I think he is doing just that.

Steven Davis....outstanding for the Irish. The way he makes time and space for his team mates is second to none. Not the best player in the league, but probably the most underrated .
-
Will someone show this to MP and JWP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2yY3z9wNsc Beckham had limited pace and never beat a player in his life, but with a willing overlapping full back to create space he was very effective.

There’s not a lot wrong with Jacks reading of the game and positional sense, though it will doubtless improve with experience. I was talking specifically about high balls into the box, which is all about being correctly positioned in relation to the attacker. This can be coached.
-
Yoshi's not so bad and Jack will improve with coaching I'm sure. Frankly I'd be surprised if Hoedt is an upgrade on either.
-
It is, if you think we should be paying 20m for a 3rd choice CB.
-
Unfortunately these things apply to Spurs as well, and Levi knows a good investment when he sees one. It’s a shame we didn’t at least try, and if we end up with Wimmer for £20million, I may have to sob.
-
He turned down a contract with Barcelona last year because he didn’t want to play for their B Team , so he may see a team like ours as a good interim move. Seems to have settled in Holland ok, and having a South American Coach who speaks his language would do no harm either.
-
I can’t understand why no English clubs have pushed the boat out for this lad. Even for 35mil; at 21 he would be a great investment. A few rough edges to be sure, but he has all the attributes to be a world class CB in the near future. Admittedly, we would be just one step up the ladder, but he’s the only CB around who maybe available, and is an improvement on Stephens/Yoshida. Sell for 120mil in 3 years, or a goat and two hens, depending on how things pan out.

I hope no one doubts Yoshida's quality anymore...awesome from the guy, and great team performance all round.
