  1. Any incoming money will be used for the day to day running of the club to help the administrators find a buyer. Lets not forget that should we find a buyer who will obviously have to service the debt in one way or another even if it does get reduced they will have the benefit of season ticket money coming in immediately after as normally a large percentage would already be in the clubs coffers. This would give an immediate kick start to the clubs finances from lets say may onwards.
  2. Stop selling football shirts at half price with free match tickets is probably a good start.
  3. Who owns all the assests such as staplewood and jacksons farm - is it Southampton leisure holdings or southampton football club ltd as that will have a big impact on what rises from the ashes.
  4. I think a lot will depend on our eventual owner/s,if they pay off the overdraft and mortgage or continue to service it then we have not gained any financial advantage but if aviva write off some of the debt then we could be in a spot of bother. There could be major legal battles with this if we avoid a penalty so the coming months are not going to be pretty.
  5. I agree but cashflow is king and without these season ticket sales we must be suffering badly. There will be people who will renew whatever so perhaps the club could of asked for £100 deposits until the price is known then pay the balance later. They already know what they want to charge for 1) Championship + 2) League 1 so why not put two prices out there.
  6. The delaying of season ticket sales will surely have a massive bearing on our ability to pay any debts as i would of thought we had budgeted a certain income from them this month. If we are not going to announce the prices until possibly the middle of next month we quite simply are not getting any revenue coming in.
  7. I remember having a letter published in the echo regarding quantity over quality at around the time we signed Peter Crouch , i think we had just signed about six or seven relatively cheap players for the single transfer of one of ours ( cant remember who ). I remember saying how this policy was not right surely better to sign 2 good platers who will improve the starting eleven than six mediocre ones who might not even get a game. I was very annoyed about the Crouch signing for which i was the first to admit i got it wrong and he was a good player for us but by the same token someone else got it wrong about the other 5 or six and that has always been our problem. For every Crouch / Niemi / Svensson there have been 5 or six Mccanns. As for SMS as much as i want Lowe out i will not beat him with a stick over that. The ground was adequate for our needs and did generate a good atmosphere at times. My company would of gone bust ages ago if i adopted a similar purchasing policy to what we have had here over the years.
  8. League game has to be West ham away several years back, we were cruising and then pressed self destruct only to scrape by.
  9. I agree with Steve G it shouldnt be the usual suspects but how are the lesser known fans going to get on there. If it is going to be voted on then the usual suspects will probably get the votes. I f we want a clean sweep on the board then the same has to apply to all of the fans spokespersons.
  10. I have asked this question a couple of times but to no avail. There are always steards / old bill in Itchen north and by away fans so to me it makes no difference. There is certainly no saving on food/drink bars in the Itchen. As for the attention all stewards i was told it was because our stewards ( APPARENTLY ) are NVQ trained and go around training other clubs stewards so every once in a while they get assesed at a game to see their response.
  11. My poor dog will probably be dead by then the amount of abuse its had to put up with from me every saturday after watching the crap we have this year.
  12. Will everyone please refrain from standing and jumping about when we score and just sit in your seats. Surely its scoring a goal that makes standing dangerous as thats when everyone starts jumping around so i say ban goalscoring at football matches to make it safer.
  13. Jesus nothing like stating the obvious ( winning will help us stay up - if we dont win this game then we must win the next one )
  14. I hope your jesting
  15. Have to say we were poor and lacked any creativity, i thought the atmosphere was also poor and am surprised that there were not more people there considering the cheap tickets. We need to improve big style on saturday as 3 points is a must. There keeper could have got his deckchair out for most of the game with only a couple of tame efforts straight at him to deal with.
  16. What was this your first game then as i have sat or rather stood there all season. And yes it ****es people off when one game they dont bother and the next they are all over you like a rash .What a few of us really find annoying is that we were forced to moved from block 2 to cut stewarding and policing costs yet they are still there in block 4 with the away fans 50 yards away so what difference has it made, when you get a decent away following they are there anyway so in my opinion shutting block 1,2,3 has made no difference other than to alienate some fans.
  17. I was wondering how much the delay in season ticket sales will affect our finances. I would of thought we would be desperate for the income that they provide now, can we afford to wait until April or later. Surely the club could run a deposit scheme for those that will obviously renew whatever thus bringing in some of the money early and then pay the balance later.
  18. In answer to the original question NO. What really annoys me with this cost cutting is the excuse of closing the corners, forgive me for being thick but i have moved from block 2 to block 4 and yet we still have the same stewards and coppers on both sides of the fence if the away team bring a decent following. If they dont bring a decent following then they are 40 yards away anyway. Sorry for being off topic but slightly relevant.
  19. It would be just typical of this club to offer us a bit of hope with saturdays performance then go and kick us in the nuts by going into admin. I really cannot see anyone buying us at the moment with the value of the club at around 4.5mill as the major shareholders will want double that to get out. Maybe if we do go into admin i can put my proposal forward for buying the club as long as i get it for a pound, i will invest £500 per month into the club instead of my pension as they are both like throwing money down a well. The onl;y difference is the latter might cost me a divorce as well.
  20. I just hope this isnt our farewell swansong before the shutters come down this week. It would be typical of this club to get our hopes up and then go into administration. But for now well done along with Reading most enjoyable game all season.
  21. To be fair until a few weeks ago the team have had the fans ( who were there ) support and we still couldnt perform so i think people are entitled to waiver a bit dont you.
  22. Seroius question though - What are we all going to do if we do go into admin. There will be i would imagine a few potential buyers which the administrators will look to do a deal with, we may end up with our debt reduced as a result but there is the possibility that the same people running the club now could own it entirely in a few months. Now this would mean we will already be in league 1, we will have a worse team than we have now if thats possible, we will have even less income due to the quality of football and the Lowe factor so the situation will start all over again.
  23. Surely a poll on the next owner is required ?
  24. It all has to be sorted by march 3rd isnt it so i would say go and stick a tenner on us calling in the administrators by the end of next week. God if you think theres been *****ing on here recently look out the next couple of months will be the biggest soap opera ever as we will have numerous paul allen/fulthorpe/tommac stories as a bargain is there to be had.
  25. Well i never thought i would say this but i will not be renewing mine. I have had a season ticket solid since 1977 yet missed loads of games in the 80s and 90s due to my own legendary football career so the money was never an issue.I would either be playing or watching, nothing else mattered and to be fair i still felt the same at the start of this season but somehow they have ruined my whole outlook on SFC. I used to be the grumpiest bastard around on a saturday if we hadnt won but now it seems to just pass me by as the norm.. I might start playing again although some serious training is required.
