Certainly did the buisness for Swansea in this league but would be surprised if he was on a free.

Not wanting to put a damper on things as i am pleased we have over 10.5k sold but you must remember a decent percentage of these will be under 8s free tickets so it is not quite as good as it would seem. I personally do not see the walk ups being that big initially due to our position and that the prices are still quite high for league 1 football. I would be surprised if we get more than 15 thousand for most games this season as apart from the odd few, away support will also be fairly low. Millwall may bring a few down as will Leeds and Norwich so for these games we may get close to 20k but i guess a lot depends on what new players we get and how we start the season.

I have said this before that i find the steward and policing costs a little strange. We still had lines of police and stewards on the isle of block 4 and at the side of the away fans even though there is a 30 yard gap.

I would of thought it would be a good idea to offer an alternative to a full season ticket and half season ticket with a scheme where perhaps you can buy say 10 games or even 5 games at a reduced price and use them when you can go. I realise you may not be able to guarantee the same seat if you decide on a last minute visit but a 10 game book for say £175.00 which is about half way between a season ticket and match day prices could work.

Long term does not matter at the moment, our first objective this season has to be to avoid relegation. May sound pessimistic but starting on -10 that has to be our first target. There will not have been many seasons in the last ten or even 20 years when saints have finished 10 points above the relegation zone so it will be a new feeling for all of us if we win that number of games and the task should not be underestimated. Once we have achieved that we can then start building for better things which may have to start next season.

We wont be paying anyone 14k per week and in fairness would be mad to in this league.

Agree, formation was ridiculous especially with the players we have, if your going to play one up you need width with pace which we just did not have. And i have seen some strange positional changes over the years but since when has patterson been a wide midfield player FFS. Only a friendly i know and certainly didnt expect us to win but they could of at least tried to be a bit more positive with the formation after all we are trying to win fans back to watch games.

I like how it says in the echo piece that Pardew becomes the new owners first manager. Sort of implies they are expecting another coming along shortly ( now who would that remind you of )

I also know what the new owners targets are. I would normally agree but havnt they said they have a five year plan so it would be pretty pointless giving a manager a 2 year contract only for him to bugger off and then have to start again.I also know its pretty unlikely that anyone would stay here for five years anyway even if they had a five year contract. The point being if you have all your plans in place to cover the five years from the outset then everyone can move forward knowing the targets / goals although at the end of the day it can all change but it just makes sense on paper.

In that case it should still be on his doorstep as he is away on holiday or do they have large letterboxes in Thornton Avenue.Somebody whip round there and aquire it pronto. I really cannot see him becoming our next manager but would like to be proved wrong.

According to the papers today Stoke are hoping to beat Wolves to the signature of Lallana with a bid of 750k. It would be better for all to get a manager in asap and try and get our squad sorted. It would be ideal to get him in for Saturday and then he has 3 weeks before the season starts to bring in a few. Although Ajax is a good friendly we are probably going to get a right run around which maybe a good thing as it will open everyones eyes as to where we really are and what needs to be done.

Well if it helps i went on holiday last year to Montreaux and had a wonderful time. Lake Geneva is beautiful with the alps as a backdrop. Interesting panoramic train journeys up into the mountains and some fantastic lakeside dining. That alone all though a load of complete personal drivel as far as takeovers go is enough for me to say i hope this deal succeeds and pretty damn quick. If they buy us i will be returning to my favourite holiday spot next year to show my appreciation and place a saints shirt on Fredie Mercury statue.

Jesus Christ, as others have said if they were about to do a deal the only one who could scupper it would be Fry who if Liarnam and co have returned may have said hang on i want to see what they have got to say. Bloody hell where have this other lot suddenly sprung from to be in a position where they are further advanced than the Swiss lot. Now we have ( supposedly ) 2 wealthy foreign bids fighting over us when only yesterday we had just lost our 2 siamese fighting fish in Lynam and Longlife. Somebody told me last night that Fry had a lot to do with Jackson + Pinnacle withdrawing as he had already lined up a better solution to the situation as they had taken far too long.

Money is probably not the issue now as Fry has sold a couple of players to keep us going. The problem is as some have said that the administrator cannot get a license to play so we do only have a few weeks or we WILL go out of existence.

If they sell too many before any one takes control then surely they will want the price re negotiated. I offered 10 mill which included DMG Surman and Davies, now you have sold them i will only offer 7 mill. The longer this goes on the more players will be sold so surely the value of the club will depreciate.

I have made this point for months but i think its like say Setanta continuing to sell subscriptions knowing that they cannot fulfill the content of the package which in effect we would be doing.
