Well it was okay but i am concerned about our midfield now,we definitley need someone like Stock bossing the centre. Nice stadium but how the hell can you only get 4,000 turn up for a semi final.Got to be the worst fans ever.They do not deserve anything and how the hell can they justify extending that ground for the world cup bid. They had some tosser banging a drum all game and i think it was hard for our fans as we were basically singing to ourselves. I wish they would finish these bloody roadworks on the M1 / M25 and M3, as soon as you got out of one 50mph zone you entered another. Cheap beer in the pub before the game as well only £2.35 per pint Enigma Tavern although was a bit of a hike to the ground.

They surely will only get taken over now after administration. Nobody in their right mind is going to buy them with 60million of debt and no assets. They will not be able to service that debt with gates of 19,000 on a good day and have no other major income stream of any use as the premier league will continue to hold any outstanding sky money. On top of all that they will be in the championship next season so will only have parachute payments and probably gates of 15,000. Their only saving grace is to go into admin and get the debt written off or most of it anyway. Apparrently they owe 7.5 million in vat which is why the IR have put the winding up order on them. The problem for the revenue is that they will not be able to get any of that money until they can either sell players which will not be until the summer as the court case is in february,or some poor bloke with a few billion spare bails them out. I know what id put my money on.

I think you will find that the author of this article did not intend for this to have any link however tenuous to a possible new signing. Simply highlighting the fact that the store is closed for stocktaking.By the way he will be signed by friday.

There are many players at this level who do that job better than what we have and i dont remember stating we should be signing players of that quality. The balance of our midfield is not good enough and if people have aspirations of getting promoted this needs addressing.

Creative attacking midfielder who keeps possesion has an eye for goal and can find that killer pass that we lack at times. I think this is where we are found wanting against the better sides and i hope that this is addressed as a matter of urgency.

If this was scuppered because of leaks then that will also put paid to Stock and Danns then due to supposed leaks of their pending transfers from facebook / pub landlords / hairdressers and taxi drivers. As with all things football us fans will never know the real truth.

So we are signing Danns / Stock / Tyson / Ward along with Fonte. I would imagine that would add up to about £6million for that lot plus wages etc. Now i know we dont have to pay a mortgage any longer and gates are up a bit but even we cannot sustain that spending in this league without making a loss which as i understood it the owners did not want too happen.As well as the fact that realistically we will still be in this league next season barring a championship winning form until the end of the season.

I do not believe we will sell any of our best players in January, the problem will be in the summer if we do not get promoted which is still fairly unlikely. That is when players heads will be turned if clubs are interested and i am sure it will not matter if we are a selling club or not as if the player wants to go it will be hard and sometimes foolish to stop them.

The only loan extensions they will get are from the banks and that aint happening

What do people think the reasons are that our away support has increased dramatically this year ? There is no doubt we are taking more away than even in the premiership days when you would of thought the opposite would happen. I remember back in the eighties going to the likes of Stoke, west brom,leicester and even many of the london clubs and we would be lucky to get a few hundred there. Is it really just the fact that we can actually win some games or is there more to it.

You should try wearing shoes and socks. Seriously though it was very hard to get any singing going in the itchen last night as it seemed everyone was asleep.

Was it just me or was that the worst atmosphere at a saints league game ever. Even the back of the Itchen where i sit was very subdued.

I have to say now i have had chance to reflect that the following occurs to me. We could not handle their movement up front and i thought forster was excellent. We kept passing the ball across the middle of the park then putting in crosses from far too deep most of the time. Our corners are just not good enough as most are just floated in more in hope that we may get a knock down. We played far too much long ball stuff up to Connolly and Lambert in almost desperation which there back four dealty with quite comfortably. They also only had 4 in midfield but always seem to pick up the loose ball and have someone free to pass to. I will put this down to a blip on our curent form and hope we improve for saturday but a vast improvement is needed on that showing.

we played forest at the dell and i remember stuart pearce and him in one of the hardest 50 50 tackles i have ever seen.

Good day out and deserved to win. For me we looked far more dangerous when connolly came on with his intelligent running and touches.He also frees up space for lambert which is why we seem to do better when pardew changes it every game, which does beg the question why we dont start that way. As for the atmosphere i think because we were spread over the whole side of the ground its very hard to get both ends singing together , one will be singing one song while the other sidesomething else. Have to agree about james corners he just lobs them in there.They need to be hit with pace and curl into the box.

I wondered how long it would be before the uber fans started this line. Who cares about this i am a better fan the u bollix. I will generally go to 6 or 7 away games per season and have done for twenty five years. I also have had a season ticket since 1978 even though i missed many home games in the 80s and 90s due to playing football myself but so what.

He means if you get the free kids ticket then that seat is yours so you can buy your girlfriend a ticket when she wants to go anywhere in the same stand but as the seat next to you is empty she can sit there. Sorry about the long sentance.
