Ely is playing ahead of Stu because of our left back. He offers a slightly better defensive option than Armstrong IMO. If we had a decent left back then Stu should be starting instead.

If he’s part of our squad then he has a chance of playing wingback, his suitability will be irrelevant. Just like our midfielders are now strikers.

I guess it’s about time Stuart Armstrong played back there.Apparently Ralph thinks he would make a good RWB. Perhaps we could give Che a runout at fullback.

I expect he is the only player we have had firm interest in so the club have to sell him to buy. As was said above, we just haven’t shifted anything like the players that we needed to. If people really thought we would be adding another 2 or 3 taking our spend up and above £80-90 million without recouping then they are mad. Whats so frustrating though is that we need players now who are better than we have yet we spent large chunks of our budget on the future. Carry on like Saturday and the future is not looking good.

So we are playing 3 players who normally play in the 2 central midfield positions which we have not tried in pre season. No Stu is madness to me and I don’t care if they are impressed with Valery lately. Che must be on the cards to be sold as he really can’t get a look in.

So from Ralph’s comments I guess £30million pound players are possible for us then.

How many nineteen year old strikers are playing regularly in any top league sides ? As long as he is not our only signing up top then it’s a yes from me.

Careful using that word with all these youngsters we are signing, that’s how rumours start you know.

Having quickly scoured YouTube he seems to have a bit about him. Gets fouled a lot based on those videos but he looks quite lively.

Borja’s big weakness was he was a bit of a lightweight when it came to challenging their centre half’s especially for headers. Che is OK but he does not win many headers either. We need someone who really puts himself about IMO as well as a pacy, tricky one.

Yes our signings have not gone under the radar like they did in the past. On that basis we could be a while off yet as the links are dry. Really don’t have a clue who we could get as a new first choice striker. Even if the club want to break our transfer record the player will probably want better. Will definitely be interesting.

Observations with first game caveats. walker Peters must not be sold. lavia looks promising. Bazunu looked solid, at last a keeper that does. Thats pretty much all the positives. I am guessing Ralph is going 5 at the back as his default this season so We really need some attacking quality. Djeneppo did what he usually does and flatter to deceive. Valery should not be anywhere near the team. Didn’t think Aribo contributed at all. Bella kotchap looked sloppy at times. Tella was also anonymous.

Not sure why everyone thinks we have just spent 40million out of our bank with no return. I am pretty sure we have probably only spent about a quarter of that with the balance due over the coming months / years. I thought the majority of our transfers were structured this way.

He is a bit like Grealish in his style of play so our free kick count around the box could go up.
