With someone other than Walcott or A Armstrong to partner Che we may of made that interesting. We always struggle with their front line but second half I thought we gave it ago and with some much needed quality in the attacking third we may have stood a chance. The issue is it may be hard to convince someone with the quality we need to sign for a bottom 3 side in the new year. If we can’t we may as well give Mara a run of games rather than persist with the two mentioned above.

Couldn’t believe the amount of times we launched it for Mings to get heading practice. They we’re easily clearing any long balls we played and if Adams did manage to get hold of the ball we had no one within 20-30 yards of him. Tyrone Mings must of been laughing his socks off “ that’s it you twats launch another one up for me to clear. Trouble was he was winning most headers in our box as well. I really don’t know the thoughts behind the team selection and tactics but both have to change before the next game.

We made Mings look like the best centre half ever again. Not a single shot on target and hardly got any bodies forward all game. The whole approach is wrong coupled with playing the same old players doing the same old things. We have signed all these young stars so may as well play them rather than the dross that has failed season after season.

All our attacking threats are on the bench so totally expected. we really do not offer enough threat going forward.

Well we certainly need to get things moving quickly now whoever is/was next on the list. Signing a decent attack minded player was surely a must hence we were willing to spend that much. Its definitely going to come out of the blue if we do pull something off.

Diallo, Armstrong and Ely, we cannot compete with those three playing.

And right in our price range as well. Looks like if we are going to get an attacker before Friday then it’s flown well under the radar. Probably nowhere near the top of our list either but as long as whoever arrives (hopefully) is better than we have then all is good.

ABK was superb and everything Bednarek isn’t. He just needs to calm down in front of goal as he made a couple of typical defender attempts. Really impressed with us defensively as a whole although you could argue someone should not have given Fernandes the space for that. Ely is just a passenger and surely we cannot continue with him in there. Aribo looks strong but does need to quicken things up a bit for me. Ralph seemed confident of getting a striker so please let’s hope that comes off and that he’s good enough to make a difference.

Pitch looks very poor for this time of year. Yes I know weather had its impact but that’s going to tear up badly in a month or two

Time is our problem,with only a week or so left of the window it seems our current striker search is going down to the wire. To then sell Che and convince another one to come could be very challenging. Although it can’t end up a saga I guess with such a short space of time to do business.

Have to say the kit looks much better with white shorts. Sky sports gave Ely a 7 and Djeneppo a 6, WTF If we could get in a quality attacker then we could be in for a reasonable season. Could Djeneppos performance today save the club a chunk of cash to spend elsewhere. Obviously bigger tests to come but at last we seem to have a team with some backbone.
