Coppell left Reading because of pressure from his Missus to get out of football. He was leaving whether they got promoted or not, he won't be back any time soon. I can't believe the love in with Paul Ince... and I really can't believe people think he's too good to drop to League 1. He guided a team to promotion from League 2 (from a squad mostly presented to him on a silver platter) and he failed miserably in the premiership. I think League 1 is what he can expect... and I still wouldn't want him. Dowie is the best realistic choice without a doubt

Other clubs haven't been deducted more points for appealing, they've been deducted more points for still being in administration or breaking other rules. If a criminal gets sentenced to life in prison, he doesn't risk the death sentence by appealing.

No, the point is that the only mention of legal action in the story comes from the journo. The actual words spoken by the Luton Town Director never mention legal action, or even hint at it. Its like a tabloid leading with "Gerrard blasts Benitez tactics against Chelsea" when the only quote from Gerrard in the story is "I think the manager might change a few things now if we were playing the game again" They've made up a lot worse from more innocuous quotes

I'm not saying I don't want it to happen, just wondering if I'm missing something. I know Derby did it, but nothing different is occuring here than did at any other club, except for some extra bits of paper that both Derby and ourselves had typed up and signed.

I have to say, as much as I hope the club do get away without being deducted points, its really not very fair on all the clubs who have been deducted points for going into administration in the past just because there's a loophole surrounding the seperation of a holding company and the club.... Am I missing something blatently obvious that makes this fair?

Getting rid of Wotte now would be ridiculous. He has the best chance of keeping us up, rather than bringing in another manager who doesn't know the squad and who the squad will have to adapt to.... However... if Wotte does keep us up it will be as much a disgrace to replace him as it was to replace Pearson last season
