You're dealing with 2 different issues here... You're absolutely right, he would struggle to find another surgery to work at... but he wouldn't have his license taken away. MK will be in the same situation. the number of clubs willing to take on his services will be significantly less. Considering the nature of a doctor's job, he simply couldn't be allowed to work again if he was a registered sex offender. His job involved getting into intimate/private situations with men, women and children. This isn't comparing apples and oranges. MK's job is not one where a potential victim of his sexual abuse is put in danger by using his services.

I'm pretty sure doctor's don't get struck off for punching someone in the face in a niteclub. They get struck off for malpractice

I meant to include that in the original post, I knew it would be brought up. It doesn't matter. If he's released, that's still the law of the land saying he has paid his debt
-
I'm pretty sure they won't though, not for what is essentially a minor offence. It probably won't even come up on their radar.

What did Taylor actually say this morning? Did he condem King's actions at all? I don't want to give my opinion on that until I know what he actually said. But the law has said that King must do 18 months in jail for the crime he committed. That will repay his debt to society. So should the man be denied a job when he re enters society? The job in question shouldn't be a factor. Just because its a well paid footballers job is irrelivant. When he rejoins society he needs to contribute to it. Like any ex con he'll need to get a job, somewhere. He'll find it difficult to get the job he wants, like all ex cons. He's not going to have the same options as other free agents in football, it won't be easy. But making mistakes (albeit a hell of a lot) shouldn't preclude from any job IF he can get one. Just because we feel that being a footballer is an exhaulted position in society, shouldn't rule him out of doing that job when he is released. Don't get me wrong. I hope he never plays again. I hope no club ever looks at him again. But you can't actually ban him from playing. He'll have paid his debt to society according to the laws of the land, it will just be up to every club to take the moral high ground and refuse to entertain the option.

Someone else assuming that nothing has changed in our club since we were in the Premiership. Yes, we loaned young players out at his age to other clubs in these divisions and they coped. Young Players who were regularly training against Premier League class players. Young Players who were playing in the Reserve Premier League, often against big PL names proving their fitness and returning from injury. Young players that were generally training and playing at 2 levels higher than they are now. So you think because he has an awful season in an awful defence under awful management last year, and because his confidence is so badly effected that he has not played well when given the chance this year that every club should disregard the promise shown in all his time before that? The grass roots of English football would be in much worse shape than it already is if everyone shared your opinion. We're in League one now. He needs confidence and experience. So he goes to a side in League 2, where he'll get a game, have a chance of playing alongside an experienced defence and will start to develop again.

Can you give us a list of student names? you know... for future reference... last thing I want is a Neurodoc who's lecturing puts Saints in front of the most important lecture of his year Seriously though. Greats reads from Zigsdad and Block5. Thanks very much. Training reports used to be a regular thing a few years back and I loved reading them, but they've all too rare recently and the detail you both went into was fascinating. Its very much appreciated.

If it was a direct choice between 2 young players both in form, I'd choose the player we actually own, rather than the one we're helping another club develop. If it was that simple

But there's no "in time" for Jaidi. He's a free agent, it doesn't have to be done before the deadline
