How d'ya like 'em Norwich?
-
If you like it that much, then maybe it does... horses for courses
-
If we can make them up it will be easy. Ah.. we beat Harchester United on Jan 11th... that's 3 point..... We beat Melchester Rovers on 14th Dec.... That's another 3 points.... We beat Fulchester United on 19th Oct... That's 3 more 9 points already! We're quids in!

It has definitely been mentioned over the last few weeks.
-
Its a bitter-sweet day for them today. Word has come through that the Premier League will not advance their broadcast revenue for next year. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_5947135,00.html

Seriously though.... I said this during the first half. What are the rules about player registration??? I'm sure that it came up before (Barnard maybe?) that a player had to be registered at a club when the draw was made to be eligible to play in that round. O'Hara was at Spurs when the draw for this round was played. He didn't sign for Pompey again until 29th Jan..... So surely that means he wasn't eligible?
-
Come on, for the 3rd and 4th goals we were chasing the game... one of them with only 1 center back.
-
And he wasn't registered at Portsmouth with the draw for this round was made... Which I'm sure he has to be in order to be eligible to play.
-
As I said in the first half thread... Should O'Hara be playing?
-
Am... should O'Hara be playing? He was not at Portsmouth when the draw was made, he was back at Spurs. He only resigned for Portsmouth on the 29th Jan. I thought the rules were that a player had to be at the club when the draw is made to play in that round of the cup?
-
It wasn't funny on the other thread either

Rather than everyone else being nieve, I think you're being a little cynical and looking at the business side of things in 2 dimensions... I have no doubt that Cortese is running a business here and he wouldn't be doing this if it didn't make business sense. But I think to say that he currently can't find anybody is ridiculous. First off, its the 2nd of February. He has months before a new sponsorship deal would have to be announced, even if the Flybe deal not being renewed was in the public domain. While there is a large aspect of this that is a nod to the fans, he's also going to take into account the extra shirt revenue this will generate and how this compares to a single year of sponsorship money, which we can take as circa £250,000 IF we get promoted this year. On top of that, as I said above, he has the oppertunity to promote this advertising space. We will be the only club without a sponsor in any league next season, and no matter what league we're in we will be getting a lot of media attention. Either as a League 1 club with a big possibility of promotion, or as a championship club who have spent a lot of money and are going in all guns blazing. During all that media coverage the lack of a sponsor is going to be brought up on countless occasions, especially in relation to all the money we'll spend on the team.. "Southampton are buying all around them, they're rich now, they don't even need a sponsor anymore". This will all play into the club's hands when it comes around to signing up a sponsor for the following season. It will make the space more attractive and probable more expensive... to the extent that the club will probably make back the money it loses out on next season in the price it recieves the following season. It all makes it very attractive to Cortese to make this gesture to the fans. He's thinking long term. He's making a gesture and working on a business theory that will not only mean he won't lose out on money from not having a sponsor, but in 2 years time he'll probably have made more money for the club than if he had taken a sponsor on board.
-
Not only that, but the advertising space will be more valuable. It will have been blank for a year and no doubt it will get mentioned on Sky Sports and the like. "Who will get Saints Sponsorship next year"
-
Bees(0) vs Saints (1)- first half and half-time thread
Psycrow replied to sad saints fan's topic in The Saints
I have nothing against Paul Wotton. But "Paul Wotton, Football Genius"???? He is NOT Chris Marsden!!! -
oops
-
team vs Brentford: Davis. Otsemobor, Seaborne, Fonte, Mills. Antonio, James, Wotton, Lallana. Lambert, Barnard
-
My point is, I wonder did they actually get it from here.
-
Have you noticed how that article appeared on the Echo's site after it was posted on the board here? With no more detail than the original post, except for the fact that club aren't talking to the Echo and a strained link to another story
-
I was sure she was going to drop the number 1 back in there!!! ****in hell.

I didn't realise that lean spells included scoring from 30 yard free kicks. There'd be a lot more lean spells in all levels of football if we discount set pieces. This thread stinks of preparing to say "I told you so". In 5 weeks if Lambert has scored 5 more goals no one will remember this thread. If he doesn't score between here and the start of March, SES can claim his profound football knowledge and tell us he was right all along. Its a win win situation.
-
What signs have you seen that make you believe this?
-
maybe AP gave him a run out to see if he has options considering we'll be without Morgan and Hammond for a couple of games
-
Great Result. Delighted. Say what you want about Wotton, but its not coincidence that they overran us and nearly scored the equaliser after he went off
-
Ouch. How is that tshirt keeping them in?
