Again, there were rumours McGoldrick was leaving in May, before Pinnacle were even known. Also, Lynham might be a decent judge of a footballer...

As someone who forked out for some £70 FA Match-standard Mitre balls last season - and previously did the same for the £40 adidas Questra 1994 World Cup ball and its 1998 equivalent, I can confirm that the adidas balls are a fair bit lighter than the mitre ones - and also an absolute pain in the ar5e to use on anything other than a perfect pitch. Give me a decent Mitre ball any day. I've only used replica Nike balls so can't really comment on the Prem ball (of which there is another new style this season) though. -
£7 ? £10,000.00 ?

Also funny you should say that... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8122919.stm

I'd rather have Paterson than McGoldrick, and I didn't think I'd be saying that before the season a year ago.
-
I guess the thinking was that Mills looked a little lightweight in a team that was already overloaded with kids and Skacel (and Surman relatively speaking) gave us a little more experience. I think could have done a decent job for us given a bit more of a chance and with a few more experienced heads around, he was unlucky that we had options in his position, especially compared to the right back slot.
-
Well, yours. I certainly hope he will improve massively for his sake, cos he was fcking rrrrrrrubbish last season.
-
Sticky, I sez. At the moment, we have Rasiak and Saganowski. Oh, and Euell, and Stern John until Wednesday. And Matt Paterson. And McLaggon. And Jack Boyle. And Jamie White, though I think he's still injured. And last season we had two other strikers come in on loans, so that's not unprecedented either. And if we're taken over, we might even buy someone.

Hit it with a banjo at the fifth attempt after sending the cow the wrong way by shinning it accidentally when trying to change direction, seen by some posters on here as "a fantastic skilful run".

Very disappointed with what ? If we were selling him before Pinnacle were even involved (and he was rumoured to be going before the Play-Offs were even finished) it's hardly something they'd have much say in unless they were planning on relocating Southampton to Nottinghamshire or ramping up his wages after a decidedly mediocre season. I'd have sold him anyway, even knowing he's scored a few in League One before.

I'm expecting Seattle Sounders to sign Bale any day now.

And people who think "hair's whisker" is a phrase...

Erm... nice timing, LOL. Under half an hour before one of the transfers was confirmed on the OS ! http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1705454,00.html

Good God, he was EVER-PRESENT last season !?!?!?! No wonder we got relegated. My overall opinion is "meh", as if he does for them what he did for us he won't score many for them next season before he gets dropped. I can't imagine what Davies thinks he's getting, though he is the kind of manager that might give him the kick up the ar5e he so desperately needs.
-
We'll be lucky if they have the STs sent out before the first game, to be honest, but that doesn't mean they can't implement two tiers of pricing, as they already have the database.
-
Whilst Arsene Wenger, David Moyes and Alex Ferguson positively exude charisma of course...
-
I don't think you'll get much flak for saying we should get rid of all of them, but then this place is inhabited by quite a few with thinking difficulties. It's a fair point to say "they didn't do it last season", but that doesn't mean they'll fail again at a lower level and with different guidance. As you said, there were exceptions. I'd be pretty cheesed off if we offloaded Davis, Perry, Wotton, Gobern, Thomson, Holmes or McLaggon for their attitudes for instance.
-
Other than being able to understand him you'd think not... unless you were particularly suggestible and came on here a lot.
-
Well, quite. He's also got a reputation for developing kids at the top level (there were a fair few home-grown talents in with the likes of Keane and Ferdinand, which people seem to forget), has top level experience as player and manager, seems to be a decent coach too. I'd prefer him as manager over Dowie, Shearer, Keegan, Ince, Micky Adams, Le Tiss, Wotte, Poortvliet, Claus, Tessem, Dodd, Gorman, Burley or Steve Grant for that matter.
-
Then again they might want to reward the loyalty of people who actually went to watch us keel over for the whole of last season instead of finding whatever excuse they needed to save themselves a few quid.
-
Can't say I'll miss Molyneux much, as for Smith, I'm just glad we didn't have him on a permanent deal. God, to think he was one of the players at the forefront of Wenger's first generation of League Cup urchins...
-
They do have a tiny ground in a "posh" town though.
-
Lol, would you like someone to answer the question or would you like them not to mention a CVA, in which case they can't answer the question?
-
I'll be shocked if we don't end up with another deduction on top of the 10, I think we'll start on -25. The FL has already shown it is more than happy to levy random sanctions despite the letter of the law not being broken, I fully expect them to add hypocrisy to their list of misdemeanours by also punishing us by rigidly adhering to the CVA rules, and therefore getting us both ways.
