Nice to see Gobern and Thomson putting in performances in their actual positions. Sounds like Doble did well again, will be interesting to see. All I need to know now was that Thomas was utterly dominant in the air but looked a bit shaky with people running at him, and that Pulis was utter pants and I'll be glad I couldn't go, cos it sounds just like the Eastleigh game. We are completely lacking urgency on the pitch by the sounds of it - if I'd seen them playing half-baked preseason and then suddenly stepping it up a level when the league began I'd be ok with it, but we did this last pre-season and didn't hit form until February (for about a fortnight)...

If we have crowds of over 20,000 for every home game next season I'll eat my house, and if we don't, it's not Rupert Bleeding Lowe's fault THIS season either.

I have to say I don't know which Bart you were watching but I didn't see him do anything wrong at all. Forecast was ok, three good stops, but neither was particularly troubled and only one of them let in a goal (as I was getting in my car) Blonde left back second half was Ben Reeves, who did do pretty well - and to answer whoever suggested Jack Boyle for the blonde guy earlier, he was the short, dark haired left midfielder wearing 11 in the second half. The (white) blonde #10 wasn't Pulis (short defensive midfielder, dark hair, did nothing much) or McNish, who is black. It was either Durnford or Doble - but I dare say when I finish reading the posts since 5pm someone will have clarified who it was already.

McNish is shorter and black.

I'm at the match. Most interesting thing I've noticed so far is the linesman with the yellow flag has got Skins socks on under his actual socks. Bloody SKINS! on a LINESMAN?!?!? Ridiculous. Still 0-0, Eastleigh had one disallowed for a nothing foul on Bart, we look a tad ponderous and yes, Gobern at left back. Holmes has barely had a kick so far, Thomas has won loads and looks dominant, mostly.
