I wondered if he meant the play came down the left and then he (and Lloyd James) did their bit.
-
That would drive me insane, and there are already about 50 clubs singing this with their team name in it.
-
It doesn't matter how soon before kick-off you bought it, by kick-off it was clear it was an unreserved ticket, even if it had a seat number on it. I dare say there will be a swathe of Northam-inhabitants bemoaning the emptiness of their stand shortly...

Where where ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hear,_hear
-
Ah, thanks, certainly looked it. I had been wondering.

That was Bayern Munich presumably, I remember the reports of people trailing around the bottom of the stands for half of the match. I have to say we ambled up at 7:35pm last night with our pre-purchased tickets to find the club was gradually opening all the turnstiles in the Itchen to get everyone in asap, and we were in within 5 minutes once we'd found the shortest queue. Though the queue to the Northam-side ticket office (as opposed to the Main one) was back to block 41 outside at that point ! I also didn't see anyone coming into the ground after kick-off, which I thought was weird given how many there were outside 5 minutes before. And there must have been WAY more than 10,900 there, weren't both the Itchen and Kingsland practically full ? Isn't that over half the ground, at least 15,000 anyway with the Itchen-end segregation ? Actually thought the club dealt with it pretty well, shame people all seem to think they have the right to pitch up just before kick-off and walk straight in. And I think moaning that "we had tickets to the Itchen North" when the game's been unreserved seating for a few days, is a bit petty.

I meant the apostrophe, though mobile devices do have their foibles. My iPhone keeps wanting to put an apostrophe in one word I type all the time. Boringly I can't remember what it is. It would be even more boring if I did remember, of course.

It's someone who you would use the name of to sell a show or entertainment. A star name - someone whose name you'd expect to see in lights. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquee_(sign)
-
Yup, certainly would, McGoldrick's awesome on the bench, scoring goals in his head.
-
Clearly the biggest signing since... Graeme Murty. Bloody hyperbole, really good signing at this level but nothing even compared to the likes of Viafara and Rasiak, for instance.
-
Funnily enough, having not bothered coming on here all weekend and not paying much attention to this League for about 20 years I had no idea who he was. Now I've checked, good signing.
-
Dare I suggest we have a new number 7 ??
-
Those match reports are just, ber-illiant. Can't wait til they stuff us now.

Millwall and Leeds for automatic, Huddersfield, MK Dons, Norwich and Charlton for playoffs (figure I'd ladle in the big teams cos a few will come good), with Wycombe, Stockport, Gillingham and Tranmere (who are managed by John Barnes and thus doomed) to go down. Saints to come 14th. Have we even had the customary "where will Saints finish?" poll ? And where's last season's, so we can all have a good laugh at how deluded we were ?
-
I always enjoy it when someone makes a grammatical error whilst calling other people morons.

Hold on a minute, where have all the Lowe Boycotters gone again ?

Well that post will kill the thread... :smt040

The kit is exactly as it looks in the original OS pics, very dark with some pairs of shadow stripes in the navy part. Strangest part for me is why they chose to have a yellow flash on the side of the yellow shorts, not a contrasting colour like all of the other teams' Umbro shorts in this style this season. The navy piece is on the back and frankly silly. I like the pin-hoops on the socks a lot though, reminds me of the navy/black Man U away shirt from 1999 with Sharp Viewcam on the front and thin grey hoops.
-
Ouchie. I happen to disagree, though the short-arms on the Uhlsport style white/grey and all yellow shirts did annoy me. The Umbro quality is better, but that's hardly the designer's fault ! I also think the flint kit is pretty lame, and the techno-wasp "thing" on the back of it is utterly awful and pointless. This season's Umbro kits are pretty much all throwbacks to the early (West Brom, Sunderland) and late (West Ham) 1980s, other than us becoming Wimbledon and the nice ornate badge imprint, there's not a great deal to get excited about with this Umbro kit. The exact copy of the current Sweden shirt would have been a mile better. Bought the navy thing yesterday, it's alright. Shorts seem to be made of cheese grater material though.

I don't have a problem with the points deduction when its applied evenly and fairly against all clubs in similar circumstances. The problem occurs when those similar circumstances don't merit the same punishment. How, for instance, have we ended up 10 points adrift of Stockport at the start of this season ? It's totally unfair when you consider that they went into admin after us, and the punishment in their case served as absolutely no deterrent whatsoever - and they're STILL better off than us as a result despite being "more successful" in avoiding relegation. I agree entirely that under the current system there should be a points deduction for clubs going into admin as a deterrent, but the very nature of the punishment serves to kick a club when they're down and leaves it open to criticism. Ideally the punishment should be meted out when clubs are actually overspending, not when they fail afterwards. So I guess the only solution in that case is a swathe of financial regulations including salary capping as a percentage of turnover and de facto penalties for breaking it - but all THAT does in a market where Man U's merchandise dwarfs Wigan's, is widen the chasm between the haves and the have-nots. So as far as I can tell, the only real solution is to adopt the MLS model for club ownership, and have all the profits from everything pooled and evenly shared (you know, like it USED to be pre-Premier League). However, as that would stuff the Prem as a brand leader (because the salary capping and limited budgets would mean all the top players would end up in Spain or Italy), that's not going to happen either.

Publicising that we're glad to have a club and should appreciate it for a bit isn't going to affect things one way or another. I think Markus Liebherr, as a shrewd businessman will want to see what we've got before any remedial work takes place.
-
Feel free to address the points raised, rather than throw around snarky insults when someone posts something you can't actually put a coherent counterargument to. I won't hold my breath.

I'm generally of the view that most issues aren't as black and white as the pigeon-holers want them to be. Especially on the Lowe Luvvie, happy clappy, rose-tinted blah blah front. It's just lazy stereotyping in the main... ...all thicky stuff, like from those racists. Oops.
-
I'll be buying it when I get the time and/or spare cash, though as I now have 5 flint shirts, 2 home shirts and a pair of fluorescent pink Shamrock Rovers Umbro away socks from last season that may not be much of a recommendation. :smt107 I think it would look better in yellow with blue, but meh, there are some abominations from Umbro this season (Sunderland away and all of their new goalkeepers' shirts for a start) and we've missed the worst styles.

Agreed. Or takeovers, or something.
