  1. Yeah, must be terrible earning a grand or so a week for 6 years for doing utterly nothing of substance...
  2. Please repost, in the knowledge that the brilliant "Rory Delap Rory Delap when he runs his ears go flap" became "Rory Delap Rory Delap (repeat ad nauseum)" and we can't get a decent Lambert song started basically because there are more than 2 lines to it... though I don't think username signing the songsheets helped its credibility much either.
  3. Ankle knack is no knee-knack...
  4. No. Kenwyne was a massively built, fast, flexible athlete with a great touch but obvious inexperience in easily coached areas (like getting in the 6 yard box for finishing rather than hanging about 40 yards from goal). This guy is a short, stocky, van Gobbel-alike (though much thinner) who has already found his approximate level and has had plenty of coaching already. He might have a role, but I do really think he's been brought in to give Lallana a rest and that's all. We might keep him for another month, but that would be because in November we have FA Cup R1 and JPT QF in the same week.
  5. Hereford, Aldershot or Leyton Orient at home in the Southern QF please. Then one of those we don't knock out in the Area semi-final. And the other one in the area Finals. And I don't care who we lose to at Wembley. Oh, or Northampton at home at some point, so any 3 from those 4.
  6. I didn't think Swiss banks were any more of a separate entity than anyone else's banks ? They may be more discreet though.
  7. Oooh, Kosowski, good knowledge, I'd completely forgotten he existed. I think you're right on the "left back not #3" thing too.
  8. Crossed better than Lloyd James. Unlucky to be replaced at half time. Short, fast, less random than Waigo, seemed reluctant to shoot the one time he got in the box, but looked decent enough. Nevertheless, seems to me to have been signed purely to give Lallana a rest for that game.
  9. Not sure of the full history, but the iteration of the Southampton Internet FC I'm talking about developed from the Saints Forever v Pompey Online matches (two 4-0 thrashings duly handed out), developed into playing matches against other clubs' fans (not so successful) and spawned a frequently shorthanded side that came bottom of the Sholing Press (bottom) Div 4 last season and feature Nick Illingsworth at centre back on far too many occasions. There's also a team that's been attending the WorldNet fans' team competitions for years (since 1996) and last year there were "normal" and "veterans" sides for the first time. Generally, we're a bit cack though.
  10. Rod Hull was in the Leeds side.

    Attendance

Yesterday was by far the most annoying, teenager-laden, chav-ridden, Reading Festival-esque Saints match I've ever been to. There were about 20 instances of utter n0bbers josh-fighting with their mates, and I spent half the match moving for people to go to the loo/run up and down the aisle. Jesus. So, anyone with big hair, hoody, a ginger beard or that has a bird with massive hoopy earrings who smacks people with her enormous handbag should be banned immediately. In fact I'd be happy to forsake the next round of the JPT just to get all of the bast3rds in the same place at the same time for rounding up. If we're going to play like that, anyway.
  12. Is it National Wind-Up Day today or something ? Funniest thread since the Ali Dia one I read about 2 minutes ago.
  13. "Boom Boom Boom" is still my favourite. The "One Papa Two Papa Three Papa Waigo" Macarena song (with dance) was being done by an associate (!) of mine last night and was the gheyest, funniest thing you'll see... ...and "Here Waigo Here Waigo Here Waigo" is quite clever - way too clever for the Rear Northam Pigbaggers. Then again we got all the way through "We all dream of a team of Perry Groves' " last night.
  14. Can someone please make a note of the people defending Le Tiss, in case I ever need to sell a bridge ? Thanks.
  15. Well blimey, that was hard work. Kelvin's worst performance since the dark days of 2006, from 120 yards away he looked totally at fault for their first goal which more or less went directly in from a throw-in (obviously there was a touch first), and he should have walked for the penalty too, the "covering defender" was about 5 yards behind play when Kelvin got rounded, but cleverly went and retrieved the ball to put himself in the ref's mind. Changing both centre backs is always risky, though it's fair enough to rest a few in a week when we're playing Saturday/Tuesday/Friday and the wet conditions never help defenders anyway. 4-5-1 with those three holding midfielders was too defensive, but after the last few minutes of Saturday I can't see any reason for wanting to play Gillett as the attacking midfielder unless he's being set up to fail, because it's just not his game (nor Wotton or Hammond's) and with those three in there we were NEVER going to get a through ball or enough support for Lambert. But again, that's not the first choice centre midfield and in the last few games Lallana's workrate has matched some high-tempo creativity, which we were singularly lacking yesterday. Waigo was an outlet first half and kept the ball well, but his poor finishing and utter lack of heading was mildly embarrassing. I actually thought Antonio did pretty well to get in decent positions on the right, but he was overhitting crosses slightly - though I'd rather that than scuffing them to the first defender, which James did practically all night, usually after faffing about with it long enough for Torquay to get 10 men back. Wasn't the first team, we switched a few out, rode the storm and showed character to come back and then score all our penalties. Not much to say about it after that, other than I got wet from the rain in Row Y.

    You should.
  17. Is this where a resident pedant points out that Harding wears the number 2 shirt ? Ok, moving on now.
  18. LOL@ Stevo and Wow Banana (or whatever his face is) having been to games on crutches. I was going to ask about the MK Dons game myself, as I've got a (minor) knee op the day before - and that'll be 3 ex IFC team members on this thread having done it then... and they say sport is good for your health. Oh, and Foxy, four. If he posts. Any more ?
  19. Well, with the exception of Harding, who was jockeying the guy for the 5-10 seconds it took Mills to get back and nearly get close enough to tackle, when Harding had had already shown him the line and then forced him to go away from goal - before he shot from out wide and 20+ yards, which 8 times out of 10 is going to be harmless. Harding did pretty well at left back against Bristol Rovers despite being left exposed by his midfielder all match long, often against two players, and given fresh legs to try and defend against. Mills was put on as an attacking option with defensive experience but didn't do much to help out at the back.
  20. Saw him come on as a sub for the reserves against Salisbury a few weeks ago. Did ok, either played right side of midfield and came inside a lot or right side of central midfield, he was on the far side of the pitch, can't remember much - but much better than Poo-lis anyway. Unlikely he'd get on given the senior players ahead of him, but a useful experience. I'd like to see Doble get a look in as well, he'd have probably been more effective than Gillet in the hole for the last 10 minutes with us 4-1 ahead.
  21. Oh ar5es, bought my FIFA10 in Blockbuster for £35... even went in Tesco Eastleigh and they have precisely one 360 or PS3 game. Ah well, at least I didn't get it from GAME for £40.

    Fifa 10

That's the most confusing thing I've ever seen. Especially the admin news and people saying how sad it is on threads dated Sep 30th 2009...

    Fifa 10

That's pretty much what has happened with the last couple of PES demos, the different builds overlap and some have been much worse because they're ringfenced for publication long before the parallel versions stop development (which admittedly makes me wonder how bad the 2008 demo must have been, cos that release is horrible - I suppose it's equally possible the dev tweaks can ruin a good game as well as improve a weaker one).

    Fifa 10

As I said before, PES Forums are full of moaners (and some of them have a point). I'd say both demos show the games are better than the 09 versions. I bought FIFA 10 this afternoon and will hopefully have a run out later. If it has a decent edit mode I'm in footy heaven.
  25. I'm not sure he ever had played on the right wing before. Well, except against Birmingham at St Andrews...
