  1. He's on loan at Sheff Utd.
  2. I think I'd be swapping Bale and Surman for a start. Then Get Delap in the middle instead of Surman, Baird to right back and Andrew Davies alongside Higgi. Or play 4-2-4 and chuck Beattie and Phillips in there instead of Surman and Quashie.
  3. You duplicitous bast3rd, after all the years I've known you! I'd have to say West Ham when I went to see them play Notts County in the FA Cup circa 1994. Midweek night replay, got the tube the width of London and my Notts Co supporting mate had his colours on ( until two stops prior to Upton Park). They were a very loud, furious home crowd, and I was utterly sh1tting myself in with the away fans when it went to extra time, and normally that kind of stuff doesn't bother me at all inside the ground. I believe Lee Chapman's late winner saved our lives. Kinda.
  4. I'm pretty sure the noise had no bearing whatsoever on the penalties. But the little scrotes are certainly experienced in making a nuisance of themselves, I'll give you that.
  5. Let's hope you're never starving then.

  7. Umm, thanks ?
  8. Well I had assumed it was because Leon Best (yes that Leon Best) just won Championship player of the month with 5 goals in 6 games for Cov...
  9. I'd like to distance myself from Lowe having anything to do with my reasons for criticising Poo-lis. It is purely because he's rubbish, apart from maybe a teeny bit of jealousy that someone as untalented as he seems to be has made a good career out of nepotism and pretending to be a footballer. PS I shall be telling my grandkids (should I ever get around to reproducing) that I saw Tony Pulis, his brother Ray Pulis (a former teammate), AND Anthony Poo-lis play. PPS As a cyber warrior, I am offering you outside.
  10. Worth asking... especially as banning the annoying teens outright would have dropped the Northam attendance to about 12 people. Putting them all in the Kingsland/Chapel corner would have been nice, they could have ironic hoodies, alcopops, Clearasil and condoms on sale in the concourse. Alcopop profits alone from a two hour binge drinking session could buy us a new player, though we'd probably have to spend it all on clearing up puke and putting out fires.
  11. Bromsgrove Rovers v Newport County in Round 1 in 1983-ish was a petrifying experience for someone used to 3rd Division football at the time [and again now ], though strangely Blackpool v Newport County in 2001 (both games, Ormerod scored a hat-trick in the replay) didn't feel anything like as intimidating. That's 80s football for you, I guess. That and whether you're supporting the underdogs or not.
  12. The irony of this is not lost on me. It is the one simple song that would actually be good, if we didn't already use it for any other player who didn't have a song. Even this one could possibly be saved if we "Pa-Pa-Pa-Pa"ed instead of the "Duh-duh-duh-duh"ing, just to make it even slightly different to the one for Saganowski/Lambert/Blackstock etc.
  13. You do know that "Boom, boom, boom, let me hear you say Papa WAIGO!" doesn't fit the tune, right ? This is independently of the dubious "brown" comment, which is a potential thread on its own.
  14. Oh super, another completely generic song with about 4 new words. Where's the originality people ?!!?
  15. They had SEVEN of them last season before they released Vincent Pericard and Henri Camara in the summer. And of course "I have seen him play at least twice and he's pants" Poo-lis was there pre-January but he wasn't an ex-Saint at the time. I have noted their fans are now singing "Oh when the reds go marching in", and wonder if this is a new thing ?
  16. bungle is particularly anti- , just for the record. Shame, as I have a photo of him at Luton in 2006 he hasn't seen.
  17. Probably because in the case of the vast majority of attacking players, the 18 year olds who are good enough are already proven good enough by then. Maturity is much more useful for defensive minded players and goalkeepers, where a considered approach and organisation is more useful than the impetuousity, spontanaeity and creativity of younger, more athletic, more mobile players. Most 28 year olds have also had a couple of injuries which slow them down. look at Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler's careers - sensational as teenagers, already on a downhill slope by mid-twenties. Rooney could well go the same way once his obviously heightened testosterone levels (which are also causing his premature baldness) tail off. There are some gains in experience, but usually only from people who need a lot of coaching and haven't already worked out the obvious stuff when they were a lot younger.
  18. I thought it was well controlled, he just thought it was a good idea to lay the ball 5 yards in front of him a bit too frequently. And he didn't get much of a chance until Sturrock started him up front for Wednesday, did he ? Anyone who saw him against Yeovil, Bournemouth and Anderlecht pre-season in 2006 would say his touch was excellent, and he started that season well before Theo got ahead of him.
  19. Trust me, all you were missing was a swathe of chavs pre-copulating and a bunch of n0bbers intent on starting play-fights with their mates.
  20. Disappointingly my planned attendance at Paulton Rovers v Newport County has been nixed by a wedding. Might have to look for a game nearer to Southampton...
  21. JFGI : http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10328~1814181,00.html Three, and you get to request a postponement which will be automatically granted. One call up is apparently all that's required to make the request, however. For the record... Saga - Poland Thomson - T&T Papa Waigo - Senegal (played 4/6 World Cup 2010 qualifiers) Schneiderlin - France U-19s (poss now U-21s) Lloyd James is not in Wales U-21s any more though he's eligible for Euro 2012 U-21s, and he's not in the full squad McLaggon is a Welsh U-21 when fit Ryan Doble is on standby for the current Wales U-21 squad Jaidi hasn't played for Tunisia since February. Lallana and Preen both have U-21 and u-19 call-ups for England and Wales respectively. Even semi-pro internationals can lead to postponements : http://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10311~1442528,00.html
  22. It was £7.50 if you paid in advance, wasn't it ?
  23. Well, I knew one of them was through, hence adding Northampton as an afterthought.
  24. I would be VERY surprised if the perpetrators don't frequent this Forum.
  25. Yeah, and some have seen him "play".
