  1. Highly unfunny, but the worst I've seen was the guy who somehow didn't die at the San Siro, heart attack and bleeding from the head, about a quarter of the crowd must have had to squeeze past him and an absolute miracle and thanks to the medic he was somehow ok. Other than that, I may have bruised my shins a few times on seats and nearly passed out with the head rush celebrating goals on about 5 occasions.
  2. While we're moaning, away fans are still only paying £20 aren't they?
  3. I've missed some biggies from the list that others have seen so my list is this: 1) Shane Long at Anfield, Lge Cup SF second leg 2) Gabbiadini just after half time against Man U in the EFL Cup Final 3) Gabbiadini against Swansea last away game of last season 4) Fonte at the Withdean 5) Pahars against Portsmouth at St Mary's Strange that neither of the FA Cup semi goals from 2003 are on there, nor any of our goals in Europe, and I remember celebrating the Higginbotham Palace equalising goal more than Camara's against Norwich. The JPT Final goals were more relief than anything. Lambert at Fratton and Billy Sharp against them at St Mary's were good at the time... Unrelated but on a par and would be at number 3 above - Newport County's opening goal against Spurs in the FA Cup 4th Round last season.

    Marcelo Bielsa

Get your money on Leeds to go well clear before Xmas and then fail to get promoted as his overworked pressers fall apart by Spring. Happens to every Bielsa team.

    Vestergaard

He won all but about one header all match long. He's looked assured pretty much all the time since I first saw him against Celta (when we still managed to concede two goals). The only thing resembling an error today was when he tracked his man and then went to clear up behind Hoedt, who instead headed the ball straight over him to put a Burnley player in on goal, which put him hugely out of position. I've been impressed, but he's still got Hoedt and Stephens either side.
  6. The paninis were there 2 weeks ago for Celta Vigo, £4.20, no ta. Didn't get there early enough to test the ST discount on anything. Mobile connectivity still dire. No noticeable coffee cart despite my wife actively asking about it.
  7. They introduced beer tokens today. I didn't actually see anyone buy any, and I've seen nothing about how it's meant to work. But tbh the last time I even bothered to try and buy a beer in the ground was when they introduced Saints Ale, which was what, 10 years ago now? Pub before and sometimes after, why bother when I'm there and there's nothing worth getting there early for? I've bought soft drinks and hot drinks, and food in the same time frame, usually entirely necessary. Oh yeah, and the Man City possession stats from May were very impressive. .
  8. They never bloody stop sending me emails... "Buy this", "You're eligible for a ticket to this", "Here's Your Booking Confirmation", "We've Signed A Player". Bastards.
  9. Two more rounds to get through before they get to the Group Stage and get themselves relegated though, the competition structure has changed, so they're only now where we started against Arnhem in 2015/16.
  10. I'd be guessing, seeing as not a single person on here has had their ST, that they haven't arrived yet. I'd be saying "they haven't sent them" but sod's law they'd all arrive in the morning then.
  11. It's also completely fabricated and not on FIFA's website.
  12. Are you saying there was a period when there weren't any Season Ticket holders then? Because as far as I can tell people having STs and a massive period of change in English football seem to have gone together since about 1990...

I'm assuming the "terrorism special" mentioned above was the utterly glorious film Four Lions? "What parts in a car are Jewish?" "Rubber dinghy rapids, brother" "F'ck mini Babybel" "Is a honey monster a bear?" "The wookie is down"
  14. They can sell it for that price because it costs peanuts to make it so UA make a profit, SD buy in bulk so they don't cost anywhere near what they're selling for retail, and SD are also still making a profit. FWIW I've spent £90 on two shirts from the Saints shop and £85 on two shirts, a pair of shorts and a pair of socks from Newcastle United's owner. First time in three years SD have actually sold Saints home socks in the correct colour though, they were great for alternative kit the past two seasons.

    Jose Fonte

Who have two CBs aged over 34 and no-one looking likely to replace them, rather than a production line of viable replacements. It's not like they can sign someone and are showing all the signs of not replacing their title winners with fresher players, like every other failing championship-winning side.

    Jose Fonte

    Nope.
  17. He was also toss at CB for a good while too, as well as RB and LB. He has improved a lot, but he's still the benchmark for "you need to be better than this for us to be in the top half" as far as CBs go at Saints.
  18. Surely not last year's craptastic Sainsbury's reject gear and that awful red and grey stuff with same colour badges? I'm still hoovering up stuff from the first UA season, that stuff was amazing. The yellow/blue stuff will save us this year, though the red/white track top they haven't yet got in the shop looks nice too.
  19. I guess even Aaron Martin counts as a ball-playing CB if you go low enough...
  20. A lot of poor decisions have been given purely as a result of VAR reviews as well. The inconsistent application of it has been absolutely comical.
  21. I've seen nothing whatsoever so far to suggest it will in any way improve football. More penalties for more questionable calls giving more opportunities to hand the teams who do the most attacking more chances to justify their multiple tv appearances. If anything there's been less clarity over decisions, more complaints about when VAR is and isn't used in addition to the ref mistakes, and the whole principle is undermining the refs to the point where the officials have been asked not to signal decisions to allow play to continue just in case. Basically, it's not improved the accuracy of decision-making, and it's a bunch of faffing for no particular reason, so why on earth would they bother to implement it?
  22. This comprehensive wiki on English clubs in International competitions mentions them ONCE (2008/9). They also qualified in 2010 but forgot to pay anyone for anything and didn't get a licence and weren't allowed to play. Plus tbh they'd have been an embarrassment and probably wouldn't have been able to get a budget flight back once the bill came in. FWIW, compared to their one, uno, ein, un... we've qualified for Europe nine times (though one was during the post-Heysel ban).
  23. Meanwhile, the Newport County (ha! got a mention in) forum I joined last year when Saints weren't even worth discussing hasn't mentioned me going on about Saints and Premier League football once. Somehow.
  24. I think they've established that Bednarek is a bit better than the role he had for most of last season so will be shoehorning someone else into the "League Cup and FA Cup games only in season 1" role. But who knows?
  25. I had to quickly edit the shirt number before posting a screenshot on social media, most annoying.
