I should think the desire to change the shape of the actual material and desire to not have to match the line on the front with the line on the back probably drove this. The shoulder bit provides a break in that. I think the one Matty has is about 2 sizes too big for him. The one on Benali looks like the greatest thing I've ever seen.

No, no, no, no, we want minute-by-minute updates from the club about pulse rate, blood group and food choices of every potential candidate, along with all of their contract requirements and more importantly longitude and latitude, including live tracking, especially when they're asleep. Apparently. -

Yup. I look forward to him being forced to rotate the squad over Xmas and people on here going absolutely mental about it even though it's COMPLETELY INEVITABLE. -

Give me some options or I'm not bothering. Some of them aren't even questions. I'm not spending the time to commit to an opinion and writing a thoughtful response if it's just going to get categorised anyway. Way too much of an ask of the respondent tbh. -

Fair! -
The usual argument is that standing helps perpetrators of offences disappear into the crowd. Depending on the config that may or may not still be possible, but as you say, the gaps between people will probably be wide enough to see someone sneak off anyway.

I would suggest making the Chapel safe standing, myself. For no other reason than because I'm in the Northam and I'm going to end up in a seat whether I like it or not, and I don't plan on moving. Also, economy of scale, they're better off doing the whole stand in one go than just a bit of one. They're still not going to move the away fans, they're where they are on police advice.

I can't even begin to start on how crap and just wrong this is. Ok, I can start... the song is called "This Is How It Feels". Jackett. Who is a half-decent manager, despite his choice of current club. PellEgrino... And also the song was crap the last time we used it for Whittingham and Pochettino. Ok I'm done. -
Hmm, they seem to have overlooked the bit where they give the international rankings of the organisations in the same report: Portsmouth 401-500th place Southampton 121st https://www.timeshighereducation.com/news/teaching-excellence-framework-tef-results-2017#survey-answer So basically to the shock of no-one, people who spend most of their time achieving academic excellence for themselves, sometimes aren't as good at teaching it to others.

You missed all the stuff where they went out of their way to mention his enthusiasm and charisma and commitment to attacking play. As if it matters. -

Let's just remember we were finishing top 4 whether we sacked Puel or not eh? Now let's see what we do with the squad... -
I'm more interested in the fact they took pics of him in the new kit (looking quite peed off) but haven't used them in any of the promotional material.
-
My favourite bits are the use of Atletico for the Bilbao club (not their name), and Bilboa (not part of the club's name anyway, twice misspelled, and then I assume accidentally correctly spelt at the end).
-
That's not how kit threads work! We have to wait for a leak of something pertaining to the following season's kit (eg the 2017/18 thread was prompted by an Under Armour release of Colo Colo's 2017/18 kit in November). Until that point there's no point in having it because we know it's Under Armour, we know it's got Virgin Media on the front, we know it will probably be stripes (especially after being only sort-of stripes this year) and there's nothing new to go on until the UA designs come out. Anyway, yeah, loads of teams play in red and white stripes. My favourite thing about this thread is no-one even bothering to compile a list.

Bayern Munich, on occasion.

FWIW there's a "lovely" article about them forcing out the previous owner in 1999 here: https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Football%3a+Pompey+chief+is+forced+out.-a060624417 which led to Mandaric taking over, and presumably the company name change of 1999. BTW they went into admin/receivership owing HMRC £600k that time: https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Football%3a+Portsmouth+Saved+By+Bank.-a060394252

Well here's Portsmouth City FC's liquidation: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/03747237 , but even that version only came from 1999, they've had so many admins. The 2010 version is mentioned early in this document (warning 40 page pdf): "The sale of the business and its assets to PFC Realisations Limited, now named Portsmouth Football Club (2010) Limited (‘PFC10’), was completed on 24 October 2010" : https://www.uhy-uk.com/wp-content/uploads/Final-progress-report.pdf The liquidation of PFC10 is mentioned here: https://www.accountancyage.com/aa/news/2262996/bdo-administrators-confirm-sale-of-portsmouth-fc

The FSF recently posted results of a survey about safe standing from the Spirit of Shankly Supporters group which came back overwhelmingly in favour of safe standing. Now the Justice thing has happened and the full inquiry stressed where the fault was (not standing per se) and with time passing, most resistance has gone away.

I'm not sure why it's "odd", when you can swing a cat on most lower league terraces. Exeter for example, average attendance since 1996 ranges from 3,014 to 5,832 and their capacity is 8,500. The Cliff Bastin Stand (aka "Big Bank") pictured has a capacity of 3971 - apart from the fact you could easily get 5000 in there "old school", meaning there's space to begin with, their entire average attendance for 14 of the past 21 years would fit in that stand, without anyone needing to go in the other 3 sides of the ground. The reason the standing regulations don't apply to the lower leagues is because there's little chance of the overcrowding that caused Hillsborough happening in grounds which are nowhere near full most of the time. It is in no way "odd". This is as full as it gets and there's still plenty of space visible:

I don't think safe standing will reduce prices by any significant amount. Clubs will just sell the same space and claim the infrastructure costs of putting the rails in necessitate keeping prices high. If already having empty seats and not needing the income from the match day attendees don't force them to change, this won't.
-
Well, it only takes two goals to meet the criterion, and he made his debut years ago.
