    Deadline

Alternatively choose a view that doesn't show avatars, I haven't seen anyone's pic since about a week after the site launched. You can find it in your settings... somewhere. It doesn't add anything and my work-time browsing is marginally less problematic (not that there's been any of that for a while).

How do you regard them as similar?
  3. I assume you don't mean Lallana, or Ings*, or Oxlade-Chamberlain**? *reaching **injured
  4. Apparently there are no CL winning clauses, so we can happily want them to get stuffed for all reasons and from all angles.
  5. Pah, you want to try the 2008 FA Cup Final for size. Two teams that shouldn't have been anywhere near an FA Cup Final, both my teams' hated rivals playing in the final of a tournament that I have reconned out of existence... I actually watched it too, won't be bothering on Saturday though (thanks, Common People).
  6. St Pauli detail shows the same seam pattern as the leaked Saints 3rd shirt (as well as a hexagonal UA "lozenge" near the hem of the shirt which can also just about be seen on the Saints leak), and these shorts and socks 2018/19: I'd say those socks in white/red or red/white look in line with our choice of hooped socks for most of the past few seasons...
  7. Also, just noticed that that red third kit pic has panels under the arms and what appears to be a sealed-on (rather than embroidered) badge, which if they follow the same pattern as the shirts (mainly) in the past two seasons means the shirt in the pic is player stock rather than a replica. You can see the V-shaped underarm panel on the 2016/17 Premier League shirt and on the 2016/17 third kit (which shows the heat-sealed badge better too): but there's no under-pit panel on the replica, and the badge is embroidered: The Bednarek shirt here shows the black away has the pit panel and heat-sealed badge rather than embroidered this season too: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/match-worn-shirt-Southampton-Jan-Bednarek-2017-2018-Vs-Swansea-/173311812252?nma=true&si=1DuibpXiBoomz2YtfzdLkOLRUdY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 and the home also has the heat-sealed badge https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jan-Bednarek-Worn-Home-Shirt-Southampton-FC-17-18-Season-/192540892162 So there might not be replicas of the third kit for sale yet...
  8. Suffice to say an amber Saints kit would go down with me as well as this did last season...
  9. To be honest I'm far more keen that if they're going to have a third kit they actually sell replicas of it to fans, saves me a fortune in hoovering up matchworns of never-sold kits online because you can't get them any other way.
  10. They announced the kits would change every season when they announced the UA deal. I see no reason to doubt the third kit leak, the style is consistent with the AZ shirt already posted. FWIW I like the all red third kit, but only because it's a third kit. If the yellow away is true, and the home is back to stripes which seems likely, we'd have the all red for matches against teams wearing white and "another colour" shirts, eg where the opposition wear blue, so we don't have to mix the yellow away with the black home shorts. The past couple of seasons we've added a white 3rd shirt, red-backed home shirt, red alternate away shorts and white, and red, alternative socks anyway, so they may as well make it official from the start and not serve up any surprises. So I'm guessing from this that it'll be a white/red striped home shirt with white sleeves (and plain back???), black shorts and white socks; and the third kit is the shirt we've seen, red shorts and red socks. Away kit will sit on its own - though I wonder if it might be yellow/blue stripes (which would give us a reason for a third kit due to it resembling Newcastle's home - a bit). This season's clash at Newcastle will be covered by the red third. Bournemouth sorted by the yellow away, Huddersfield covered by the third (if they didn't want to use yellow), Brighton by the third kit. One other thing, as the shorts clash regulations are different in the EFL we might have factored the alternate kit options into that possibility as well...? Also as far as pointless third kits go, if Huddersfield can get away with having red/black hoops and black with pink as well...
  11. Friend of yours? I mean on a global scale he's made a couple of seasons of Premier League appearances so yeah he's a decent footballer, but he's been at least partially responsible for more goals than I care to remember in the last 18 months and if it wasn't for an apparent shortage of alternatives and a stated commitment by the club cheeses to develop youth players last season he'd have got the hook long before the end of the season, and he's not shown any noticeable improvement this season either. Starting to think a DM position might work better for his skillset.
  12. Quite. It's amazing how much of some people's football "knowledge" is based on lazy stereotypes rather than what actually happens on the pitch in front of them.
  13. I'd rather we went back to appointing Bielsa disciples tbh.
  14. He was consistent alright, apart from the few games he was at his previous levels when Austin scored most of his goals.
  15. No, I won't be saying that. Silva's Watford made us look awful back in September.
  16. They've both been guff. When Yoshida becomes your best regular starting CB you know the standard has slipped. Bang average ().
  17. Ironically one of the things we did do in 16/17 when we were not breaking the top 6 nor anywhere near relegation was play Stephens until it was very evident we needed to buy another CB. And then we bought Hoedt (and Bednarek who didn't get a look in until April) and sold Van Dijk and spent all season conceding goals as a result.
  18. I wouldn't say Hesketh has done enough to warrant a run in the side at any point - unlike Sims, Targett and McQueen.
  19. This is what it used to look like in case anyone's wondering - it was a LOT "off-message" as far as corporate identity went and makes sense they'd bring it in line.
  20. It looks more like the exact same font they've used on everything for the past few years (OS, non-Premier League shirt names, programme, emails, Annual, every official document) than it does that. Look at the M for a start - the middle strokes are full length on the Dell sign, but only half the height of the letter on the official Saints font.
  21. Some people are a bit stupid.
  22. To reiterate that there's also a (mainly South American) shirt from UA for 2018 with this collar, being used by Colo Colo (see above), Fluminense (here) and Sao Paolo (same in black with red). Technically they're 2017/18 season shirts but as they're "new" since we last had a kit release they might be used. It's not the same collar as the one on the AZ or St Pauli shirts. Also just to confirm Aston Villa and UA have cancelled their kit deal.
  23. New St Pauli shirt unveiled - I see a theme emerging on the collar front... also a lot of "band" or "hoop" features across the chest...
