Daren, it's the Football League not the FA. And according to the FL's own rules, Stockport shouldn't receive a points deduction until next season.

Not quite sure if you're saying what I'm about to but I see an "if we..." which makes me think you think they specified the deduction would be next season especially for Saints ? It was nothing to do with us specifically, the 10 point hangover is the same for everyone. The cut off date is only a date before which the points deduction is DEFINITELY applied this season, after that date it depends on the club's position. Stockport's deduction SHOULD apply next season because taking ten off them now won't affect their divisional status. Ours will apply next season for the same reason. If we had a few more points it would apply this season and the -10 would relegate us, as we're shoite we're already relegated without it so it holds over to when it's actually a punishment.

Fair enough, I still think it's fair to say he was in a couple of squads to raise the match profile and help sell tickets though, it's amazing how many England U-21 squads feature local players who don't get a look in at other locations. I would question whether he got picked for England U-21s for any matches not played at St Mary's... but I think he's a decent enough player at CCC level, certainly a good enough left back.

Wait a minute.... the Premier League was set up as the FA's response to the top teams threatening a European Super League and the FA caved into their unequal monetary demands. This perpetuated a gulf between the haves and have nots, and you're saying the BEST way to deal with this is just to include another group of people so the gap in income is moved down towards teams with even less prospect of improving incomes compared to the "inclusive" clubs, and the main benefit is that more teams are directly affected by the greed rather than just unfortunate victims of it ? I'd say the processional Premier and the crises caused by relegation is all the reason we need to move to a system of club financial equality for the greater good, where all teams share the income evenly - not unlike the Football League used to be when the blazers were still in charge - incompetent but at least attempting to be fair with it.
