Having seen them play for us I'm still inclined to think that we should have done much better with them.

Having once "6 degrees of separationed" on Friends Lists via you to Gemma Atkinson via Fabrice Muamba and Cristiano Ronaldo I have to agree. It was a while ago though, I think celebs are a bit more savvy with their security now.

I'd just like to shotgun the number 9 shirt in the event that I am playing. Y'see, it's all in the planning.

All great if we get drawn away.

I would have been there but you seem to have made it clash with the Prem relegation decider, so bums to it... -
We're still doing it, we played Preston and Watford last season. In fact last season we also ran a side in Sholing Press Sunday Div 4 to give us more cohesion, suffice to say that plan didn't quite work. We came bottom and used about 40 players including a 13 year old at one point! And our keeper was a Skate... If you're interested though, stevegrant is your man. There's also a weekend tournament in Leeds annually which is a great laugh.

You'd never get near him.

Good luck with THAT evidence, especially as the current state of the vote is almost evenly split...

I'd say 2 shots in 45 minutes wasn't bad going considering how little ball we got in their half after the first 20 minutes, look forward to seeing the DVD... Must have been a crossed line.

*Cough*, two shots, two goals, gaffer. Show me the money.

Suffice to say I was in the pub afterwards after the match and didn't even know they were there - though there's not much media mileage to be made in a "chatting to fans" story. I could start a conspiracy theory to go along with the HCDAJFU listing now... Hey, were they drinking within sight of the pitch ? I know we had a corporate licence and all that... just asking.

If there had been any "action" of note in that direction I'm sure you'd have captured it...

We might have enough money to pay a wage bill with if we'd have been able to flog Dyer to Swansea in March. A little simplistic given the nature of BorInG 4 squad stockpiling at the moment and the fates of the likes of Steve Sidwell and Scott Parker (amongst others), but true nonetheless. We might also have shifted John/Rasiak/Skacel/Saga etc if they'd been saleable in the one or two weeks they initially looked good on loan, rather than displaying the full horror of their entire loan spells...

I give it until about an hour before the first away game of the season until someone starts moaning about "crappy away ground facilities in this League"... assuming "this League" is League One not Blue Square South. PS Last time I was there, that was Brentford's home end.
-
We couldn't even get the alleged 70 zillion anti-Lowe unsupporters to turn up outside the ground on a Saturday when there was a home game in order to complain, what chance do you think "mildly perturbed at having our overdraft cut six months ago" is going to have of selling itself as a reason for moral outrage ? Besides, not that I'm advocating it, but a few bricks and red spray cans overnight would do the PR job much more effectively and with less hassle. There would be a fair few people with Saturdays free who could plan it.

Prideofthesouth is going to be gutted this isn't about him.

Seems reasonable, there are far more draconian measures in other major European footballing countries. The problem is still that for as long as there's a massive gap between Prem and FL incomes teams will be trying to buy their way into the top league and get themselves up sh1t creek in doing so, and no amount of FL legislation trying to ensure fairness and solvency will be able to stop that.
-
We'd also get a -15 for still being in Admin by the time the League demands it in time for the new season, I'm speculating here as I only saw the date on a Skate forum, but I believe that date is June 21st. Thanks to the wonderful transparency of the FL, I can't find it on their site.

Amusingly I took the same approach to your defence of Lowe above, which is why this is my only response.

You asked if he was "that pig headed". Where do we start ? Thinking having a good eye for livestock translated into football scouting knowledge (as discussed in Strachan's autobiography), hanging onto Saints for a whole week past the -10 deadline this season, trying to foist Woodward onto Redknapp, the whole bizarre belief that the Academy ALONE could sustain us in the Championship, getting shot of Pearson for what amounts to no good reason... coming back at all... ...and I'm one of the ones who doesn't just hate him cos he's posh and actually thought he might be capable of saving money and keeping us OUT of the mire.

Didn't their entire first team decamp to Portsmouth's team when Southampton Saints get the "officially supported" boot when we dropped out of the Prem ? Weirdly I wiki'd this the other day and Portsmouth Ladies (Prem Lge South division, 2nd tier) are currently the top South Coast side, though also the only one which has never played in the Ladies' Premier League. Nothing about Southampton, a broken link in fact. I see to recall one of the Southampton Saints players posted on TSF, I'm sure some people on here will remember.
