Just for a little background, retired shirts are mostly after players' deaths - with some exceptions... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/may/27/football-the-knowledge-retired-shirts The nearest comparison is that West Ham retired the number 6 shirt for Bobby Moore 15 years after he died... though it was also 30 years after he last played football. I think it's a good idea FWIW... Though we'd have to ignore Kanchelskis, Phillips, Hajto and Skacel... (any more since Matty?)

Bwahahahahahahaha ! Well done, yes. Unless of course the 21 days end without an actual takeover, and then we're still ****ed - oh, and that's assuming anyone ACTUALLY boycotted... cos I don't recall endless protests outside the ground by people refusing to go to the matches all season long, you know, the kind of thing that actually might have made a difference ? Since when did mowing the lawn and watching Final Score amount to anything ? You may as well thank all the people who didn't go to Saints Aid, didn't contribute to any of the buckets and didn't give a monkey's, cos they "forced the administrator into acting". You plank.

Archive isn't there at the moment either, archive dates list back to May 2008 but there's nothing for any of the months beyond the recent stuff... but then if they were going to port the archive across I should think that'll be a little while yet.

Don't call it a comeback, LOL! See ya laterrrrrrrr... Grass or astro? -
I laughed louder at the confused "is that a joke" response...

I wonder if the whole "SLH can't pay the staff" thing was stagemanaged to illustrate that SFC wasn't connected to the debt..? Conspiracy! (And if so, I hope that's what they told the staff...) Yeah, ok, it's a bit Scooby-Doo.

This site's going to the dogs. There's been a whole page of comments since someone asked about rooting Chorley's daughter and not a single one of them has had the decency to address this outrage, so I suppose it's down to me to set things right ? Rule 1. :-$

Wouldn't the alternative have been all this happening a few years earlier ?

Lucky he didn't try and use their flag...

Look on the bright side, Mike Ashley's DirectSports.com website is already displaying Newcastle as a Championship team and he owns them !!! And we're not in Div 1, we're in League One. Div 1 is either of the two divisions above we've just been messing about in for the last 50 years, depending on your age. League One has never been called Div 1.

Ah, it's the new international fixtures model, make the non-major Championship years like '09 end late, bolt a bunch of internationals onto the end and then : a) the break seems shorter and b) they can also start early the next season and don't have to cram all the fixtures in when the season ends at the end of April/start of May... ...though a short close season doesn't do us many favours in a race against time.

Woop woop, spend that nazi gold, etc.

Yes, but growth potential within the parameters of the Prem, i.e. ALREADY at a level that he's prepared to justify to his billionaire mates. I'm kinda hoping he gets into a row with a wealthier one who decides to put him in his place by taking over Saints and making them better, in a Simpsons Little League baseball-type way. Bags us not having Mr Burns.

As opposed to someone who has only managed to regurgitate a pointless argument that everyone has been sick to death of for getting on for a year now, at a conservative estimate ?
-
Boycott schmoycott, it will achieve nothing, just like the alleged anti-Lowe boycott. As I said before, you'd have to destroy or vandalise a branch for anyone to even notice.

Nah. Extremely rich man doesn't have to bother investing, already made his money and wants top-level plaything off-the-shelf. Has bought a sh1tty looking one cos it gives him a chance to do it up a bit without having to run the risk of them never being in the Prem, and so his multibillionaire mates will be a bit more impressed than if he just bought Man U, cos where's the fun in that ? Nothing to do with Southampton City at all. After all, you don't hear Leyton Orient complaining that no arab sheikhs have bought them because London's not forward thinking enough... ...actually, this place is full of whingers who don't appreciate what they've got. We might be about to get a lesson in that...

The staff are now creditors as well, it seems.

I wouldn't like to alarm anyone, but when Newport County went thud they did indeed have an auction of all of the fittings and fixtures and paraphernalia owned by the club. Having said that, they didn't do so until some months after the club had been liquidated, and it was run by the Administrator (which was Touche Ross in 1989), not the club itself.
-
Probably the same kind of shoite he was talking when he said that we deliberately set up the club structure so we couldn't be penalised by the FL if the PLC went into admin, I should think. Even though the structure pre-dated the Admin rules by eight or nine years...

F'ck it, just bulldoze the lot and build a big palace with 12 levels of underground bunkers and some nice boulevards. Worked for Ceausescu, right ? How did all these pikeys manage to miss Leigh Park and the whole of Portsmouth anyway ? As someone who's been to the vast majority of cities and towns in Southern England and Wales during a national software rollout (and a fair bit of footy travelling), I can assure you that relatively speaking, Southampton kicks ass. That's why I moved here. It does need a midsized multipurpose venue though.
-
We didn't want to take the risk of them finding Plymouth Argyle on the way instead.
-
I bought two pairs of Shamrock Rovers away socks yesterday, is this relevant in any way ?? NB They are bright pink (like Rupert's cheeks) and made by Umbro (like Saints' kit). Hey, it's enough for Dan Brown.

Pretty sure that link's been dead for a while...

I am sitting near the end of the runway at Southampton Airport (well, strictly speaking in an office near Eastleigh Railway station) and I can confirm that two small private aircraft have landed in the last hour. That's right, small, private aeroplanes. Smell the excitement... ooh, there's another Flybe one !
