  1. Woo-hoo, Hampton Derby ! And apparently we've already played and won 3-1 according to the poster above - are they doing the Carling Cup on Football Manager 2010 or something this season ? Less hassle for everyone...
  2. Anyone managed to identify which player had Surman's head pasted onto it from the wrist tattoo yet ?
  3. None of those stats mean anything if you consider McGoldrick's much deeper starting position for about half of his games. And mediocre though he is, McG has already had a half decent return in League One even playing for tripe like Bournemouth.
  4. While I don't argue that Rasiak is clearly a different class of player from McGoldrick, I'd also say that McGoldrick's style and position tends to leave him further from goal and thus much less likely to score from shots he does have. Besides, Rasiak can't even kick a ball more than 18 yards and toe-punts everything beyond 12, so he simply doesn't shoot unless he's close in and though he gets a good return from that, that in itself limits the team's chances to score from some situations. All that said, if we can afford him we should keep him. As few if any of us have an idea what the budget is, it's really a pointless discussion. Holmes to Rasiak in the box would score us about three times the goals that Holmes to McGoldrick would though, IMHO.
  5. No, Everton colours. Well, slightly light Everton colours, but at least they're faithful to the Le Coq Sportif original with the ugly round/v neck thing. and it's still better than the one with the ugly white bib on it that replaced it first time around.
  6. LOlage. I actually don't like Rabbit's kits as much when you see them on. Needs collar detail too. And the red kit needs some white on the sides... Also, why the adidas texture template ? On the Ajax-style one I can see the vents in the same place as the white/blue (and fluorescent/black) Chelsea kit from 2008/9.
  7. I'd rather they were fit in August than fit in June and injured by August.
  8. God I hope that was irony.
  9. Funnily enough that's what I was thinking. Though if they can't even remember which city they were in the chances of getting the right sheikh are pretty slim too...
  10. We're not due a new home kit unless administration/debts somehow voided the contract with Umbro, otherwise the situation was that at the start of last season "all kits were one season", but then when flybe announced they'd stay on as sponsor we kept the home kit for next season as well. Its plastered all over the club shop in West Quay that the home shirt is until the end of 2010, there's no doubt really, especially as they have loads of stock left.
  11. I like the home kit, none of them are current Umbro templates though, and the socks SUCK (the red on the home and 3rd kits don't match either and personally I'd cover the colour options with black socks on the third kit). The shorts look remarkably like the UEFA Cup ones, and the red on the yellow kit is absolutely vile. But I would buy the home one, and I already bought the 3rd one, kinda. Needless to say I like Gecko's ones better, especially the yellow stripe version, even if they do still have the Hammers crossed on the inside of the collar. I still want the wide stripe style like Birmingham had last season.
  12. I've gone in to vote, can't see anywhere to do so - I suspect my office IT is disabling scripted buttons or something.
  13. Pretty sure both Wotte and Pearson had a job to do to try and turn around a team with sinking morale, though Wotte's job would have been easier because the kids were much less likely to be jaded and it would have been easier to motivate them. Pearson's task was arguably much tougher, though we'll only really know that once we see where the current crop of players ends up professionally.
  14. You would hope that a player going from Champions League matches to the Championship might make a bit of an impact if only for his elevated sharpness and fitness levels. Took him about 6 weeks to get back into his rut then...
  15. Can't argue with that.
  16. Also, from Wikipedia on the origin of the term "caucasian": Caucasian variety - I have taken the name of this variety from Mount Caucasus, both because its neighborhood, and especially its southern slope, produces the most beautiful race of men. Ooh blimey, I wouldn't want to be one of those...
  17. Can't we just dupe him into believing he's on loan with us and playing for a contract ? It was the only time he actually did anything to justify his original hype... frustrating as hell, even he must know he's capable of more.
  18. Dammit, knew I should have copied that Hearts kit before they "cease and desisted" it... well, it just looks like the Sunderland away one but in light blue and navy anyway. I forgot to mention how nice the Man City sponsor looks on the diagonal sash kit - not like Man City need the money from Etihad, but nice touch to have the sponsor logo small and under the badge rather than messing up the diagonal lines.
  19. I'd quite like to see a yellow with blue/white diagonal, or a sky blue with navy/white, like the last two Premiership away/third kit colours.
  20. Disagree, I think the current home kit is one of the best we've ever had. It's plain, except the red shoulder bits which aren't particularly intrusive. I think last season's Sunderland kit is miles better than their new one as well. I'm not sure I like the big plain panel at the top of the chest of some of the new Umbro kits - the Hearts one, for instance has shadow striping up to the chest but no pattern above that - the West Ham away seems to have a line of sorts at the top of the advert too. Still, at least it's not a pointless seam like THIS one : Though all in all I think that's an awesome retro-style kit.
  21. My money's on the latter... and I'm not sure where you got "otherwise sensible" from.
  22. Ooh, well done, so you'll ACTUALLY be categorised in "Other" then.
  23. I'm assuming that if we get bought out the contract will remain in place and we'll have the same home kit - seeing as its all still full price. Now a yellow/blue quartered away kit, that would be vomitastic, especially with the contrasting flybe colours in the middle as they now insist on a plain background. I do like the one Dav posted, would look great if someone tidied it up a little, or maybe mocked up the West Ham style in those colours (stripe is a bit narrow though). Umbro kits this season are remarkably bland, the plain collars, thin panel of contrasting colour down each side of the shirts and shorts and the fussy multiple lines on the top of the socks are pretty weak characteristics, only the watermark stands out, and that's hardly original. We're not going to be getting the "classic" tailored look of the England kit like Man City have got either. Sunderland away kit (dull cack IMHO) : Hearts away (weeeeak) : Image has been withdrawn from the source at the request of Umbro... Blackburn (meh) :
  24. The "watermark" is certainly a feature of the new 09/10 Umbro shirts so it's not out of place...
