Also, did Benali actually get sent off for leaping shoulder-high and basically booting Barmby in the head in front of the West Stand at the Dell live on Sky ? He seemed to be on the wrong wing at the time, and I think it might have been the ridiculous turnaround game where they scored about 15 goals in 3 minutes or whatever it was, but they all blend into one after a while...

Just remembered another great St Mary's red card - Chrissy Marsden Football Genius getting sent off for viciously slide tackling a patch of the grass about 2 feet short of Patrick Vieira in front of the Itchen Stand in the midst of the "proportionate force" and "recklessness" debate. Bloody ridiculous decision, can't even remember if Vieira dived, but the fact there was daylight between them didn't seem to bother the ref...

Well, sort of, he certainly lobbed Given (or was it Harper) from a good 35 yards.

The Unofficial Official Unofficial Saints kit ideas
The9 replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Saints
It's original as long as you've never seen a cheap Pro-Star kit from any time since 2000. Or Arsenal's vile green kit from circa 1982. -
Done, to your personal domain. Use the second file I sent.

Mad foockers then. But cheers for that, at least we don't have to pretend our personal iteraries include going to see some lions in August any more. PS Does this stretch to hosting a link to a csv file I'm putting together for Outlook ? All but finished for League matches, just need to stick the Cups in.

Congrats on being the club's "designated website" and thus having permission to print the fixtures in full for only a quid rather than the extortionate rates they usually charge as well, you sly monkeys.

Yes, or flint, black (twice), white (twice) and light blue, all of which we've worn in away matches since moving to St Mary's. That green kit is vile AND boring. -
It did that for at least one other Villa game in the early 90s - I never saw Dennis play for Saints but I did have a £250 leather jacket (18th birthday gift) completely ruined by a 90 minute torrent... it went mouldy. For some reason I also got Nigel Kennedy's autograph on the match programme one season too...

I like your criticism of LWT's Big Match coverage of London teams. London Weekend Television's coverage.

The Official "I'm going to Hartlepool on a Tuesday" thread
The9 replied to bungle's topic in The Saints
Bloody right I will be. Flight ? You WUSS. I've been to Hartlepool on a midweek night before, anyway. -
That does have nothing to do with the order in which games are played though... and they'll be bringing far fewer than when we played them in higher divisions anyway.

THAT'S the kicker !

I am enjoying the anomaly of Gloucester City being in the British Gas Midland division and Redditch being in the Bristish Gas South and West Division FAR more than that. See also north Walian Colwyn Bay's nearest rivals (who are on the Wirral) being in a midlands league. Nice to see VTFC makes the list of grounds that properly count now too... along with AFC Totton at Step 4.

Except the red one with red socks they're all horrible, generic, uninspired training kit ideas. And the green one is particularly horrible. Sunday Leaguetastic. -

Apart from it being a 2 year old Umbro style it looks alright. -

I LOVE that. By far the best home kit, and an existing Umbro template. Shame we don't have a new home kit this season and they change their templates every season. -
Not to mention that the late Tony Kempster's website (RIP Tony) has this little update on the ups and downs of non-League football, indicating all of the knock-on impacts, massively detailed and from May 2009, showing if nothing else that there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE of us being in the BSq Prem this coming season. We will either be in League One or nowhere. http://www.tonykempster.co.uk/maps09-10.htm

Rasiak back to Poland - Saints to get two players, a coach and 300k EURO
The9 replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
He wore the t-shirt but didn't see the racist slogan...? :smt046 Still, wasn't one of ours. I mean Saints players... -
There's a lot more benefit to the community of a celeb doing community service than there is more your everyday "normie" though. Depends whether the goal is punishment, finding a way for the criminal to make amends, or rehabilitation.

Yup, for hacking down Dion Dublin wasn't it - because he was about a yard beyond the last defender (and it definitely wasn't going to count). Blimey was that 10 years ago ? Favourite sending off...? Probably Tahar on Dyer. My Fantasy Football team name the following season was "Tahar Shot J.R." after the media outcry and Dyer's pathetic World Cup legal challenge whining. Least favourite ? Peter Crouch at Crystal Palace in the Prem relegation season ruling him out for the last game. Prutton comes close, the d1ck.

Good work finding a picture with Rolf Harris, Timmy Mallet and Lynne Faulds-Wood in it by the way...

I'd be inclined to say 2 and a half good seasons out of 3, and I was one of the ones REALLY slating him after the clangers against QPR and Preston (and one at Leicester most people have forgotten). Then again if Bart hadn't gone backwards post Play-Off dropping I might not have been so generous.
-
Exactly. He's a Saints player until June 30th, just as Wotte's the Head Coach until then - unless we're wound up before that, which at least looks unlikely for the moment. Equally, the "running out of time" thing is garbage, the 21 days are up on Friday, when we'll either have everything in place in which case there's a good week or so to get him to sign a new deal which they've already discussed; or we basically won't have a football club, in which case one player's contract which expires anyway would be the least of our problems.
