Weekend’s other games - Wagner leaves Huddersfield

Teams all round us showing a bit of fight with the exception of Fulham, I'm not sure there are three worse teams than us anymore. We're losing six pointers now. -
I think we've hit a new when Mourinho has just described City's drubbing of us as City being in a friendly.

We're supposed to have the eighth highest wage bill in the country, players are stealing a living. There's no fight, the only way we can avoid relegation is the fact that there's a other clubs equally as bad as us. And even then it's a lottery. -
We've now gone 385 minutes without a league goal, that's abysmal.
-
Only Richarlison played out of the players they signed I think, so that's no excuse. We were simply second best and very poor and resorted to dirty tactics because it was the only way we could handle them.
-
If you don't invest in your team you'll eventually come unstuck, teams not investing are going to be left behind the way it's going. You can only tread water for so long I'm afraid.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business

Bernard is in Liverpool now having his medical, excellent business on a Free. -
We simply have to win at Swansea now, a draw will be enough for them against Stoke on the last day if we don't. That late goal will be the one that sends us down if we don't win. They can now afford two draws because City will win.

Counting runners up in finals, if you say so. They were bigger you say. They've only just taken back ownership of their ground because the council owned it until recently. Their highest attendance in a one team city is 57k, Everton's is 78k with one of the most successful teams in English football as neighbours. Leeds have spent half of their entire history in a lower division and they're still there now playing bang average football, they can't even make the play offs. Everton are in the Premier League and are looking to build a new stadium. Leeds have just bought their ground back. People listen to sky too much concerning Leeds and Newcastle.
-
Runners up means nothing and Everton have nine league titles (six more). If you're talking about the modern era then Leeds have spent about the last 15 seasons in Division 2 and Division 3 and spent half of their entire history in the lower divisions whereas Everton have spend just 4 in comparison. They have a smaller ground and their record attendance is much smaller in a one team city. Everton are looking to expend their ground to around Leeds highest ever attendance while they rot in Division 2. I'd suggest it's you struggling with reality.
-
How are Leeds bigger? They've spent 50 seasons in a lower division and have won much less, same for Newcastle, they've spent way more time in a lower division and won less. Villa are on a par I'd say.

Saints RELEGATED Liverpool WIN champions league

No they use smaller clubs as a springboard to move on to a bigger club and get higher wages. Bigger clubs pay the highest wages. -
Saints RELEGATED Liverpool WIN champions league

Booing ex players must taste sweet to the likes of VVD etc now, whether they win it or not, their moves must feel justified. It certainly beats fighting relegation. -
They're not great like but with 16 more points than us at this stage, they're doing a damn sight better than us and the pressure is all on us to take the game to them. If we don't beat Bournemouth, we have to win there, can this team stand up to that kind of pressure?
-
So Leicester aren't on the beach then.
-
Our form say we lose at least 2 of the remaining 5 games, so I think 2 wins and a draw takes us to 35 points and that's as good as it gets, unless we can pull of a shock win tomorrow that is, then we have a real chance. But if that doesn't happen then most teams are on or around the 35 points mark as it is. Beat Swansea, Bournemouth and draw at Everton probably still won't cut it, getting something at Leicester is vital.
-
(If we go down) what will you miss about the Premierleague?
Saints1976 replied to Wiggles31's topic in The Saints
The money generated by TV money, that can be the difference from us falling into obscurity and down the leagues. -
West Ham are 7 points better off with 5 games remaining with a better goal difference, them drawing is hardly dragging them back in it. I doubt they swap places. Also Stoke drawing gives them a chance of a last ditch escape at our expense, I think a West Ham win would've been better for us. The 6 teams above and below all got at least a point this weekend, it couldn't get any worse.
-
We need at least seven points from the remaining games, but even then that may not be enough, most of our rivals are already on or near 35 points. Even then we'd be relying massively on the other teams not to win a single game because one win would take them past that target. Don't win at Leicester and things are looking bleak, only Swansea are catchable I reckon and that's clutching at straws. One win for all the teams above and it's relegation I'm afraid.
-
VVD must be smug as **** these days.
-
West Ham get an unlikely draw at Chelsea.
-
We deserved to win that, but that means nothing at the end of the day, we got no points. With the other teams picking up the odd point around us has been terrible for us this weekend. There's still plenty of time to get points but it's not looking good. That was a decent performance against an Arsenal side who weren't at the races, but we still lost. It's starting to look ominous.
