  1. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/07/28/southampton-determined-keep-virgil-van-dijk-plan-reintegrate/ The club have spoken via Wilson.. Dropped in at the end of the article is a bit about transfers - we are looking to make a couple of additions and Wimmer is mentioned. So we could be looking at VVD partnering wimmer instead of replacing him..
  2. Yeah that was last season, but in his first season at spurs a couple of years ago he had a good run of 10 games starting in which they only lost once.
  3. Wimmer definitely isn't total sh!te - when he had a run in the spurs team when Vertonghen was injured he showed he was a decent player. Of course I want us to keep Virgil, but think that Wimmer would be a decent replacement.
  4. Decent player, but Borussia M'bach have already lost Christensen back to Chelsea this summer so doubt they would get rid of their other first choice CB.
  5. Virgil liked a Southampton tweet - He must be staying!!!
  6. According to Portuguese media (Record), the sale of William Carvalho from sporting to an unnamed premier league side is imminent - the deal is worth almost €45m. Looking at that price, it probably isn't us - but a Portuguese football journalist was asked on twitter wether it could be us and he said he wouldn't rule it out.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. https://southamptonfc.com/matches/2017-18/huddersfield-v-saints-2017-08-26/ticket-info info confirmed now
  8. Us and 7 other Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing Gabigol from Inter - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2723437-premier-league-clubs-willing-to-rescue-gabigol-from-inter-milan?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-UK Had a very poor season but would definitely take him here for sure..
  9. Lets be honest - Virgil will have no trouble establishing himself at Liverpool or any other top club for that matter. It certainly won't be career suicide for him
  10. Can see this one happening. Although people have said he'd be second choice, Guardiola rotated his defence quite a lot last year and with the extra games the the UCL Bertrand may be given opportunities.
  11. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/07/24/everton-back-gylfi-sigurdsson-second-bid-worth-45million/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw Everton have made a second bid worth £45m for sigurdsson
  12. Seems that Redmond has disappeared too after taking part in the initial warm ups, hopefully just doing fitness tests alone.
  13. I agree and I'm sick of it too, but that is the club's model and I don't see it changing any time soon.
  14. Lets bid more for a player who is probably worth 6m anyway then shall we? At least the fans will be happy
  15. No sign of Romeu - did he get injured on saturday?
  16. Not in the 25 man squad for the France trip and wasn't involved Saturday. Don't expect any word from the club though, they love to brush an injury under the carpet and not mention it anywhere!
  17. 25 man squad for this weeks training camp in France confirmed. JWP and redmond join the squad - Cedric not there and no VVD as expected. Macarthy must be injured again too if gazza is in the squad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Jim White‏ @JimWhite Source informs me, as yet, no firm bids for @SouthamptonFC want away defender Virgil van Dijk. Well, we can't sell if no one is bidding!
  19. Really like how Pellegrino is coming across. Think this is like the morgan situation - club won't back down and Virgil will have to come to terms with it eventually and stop pulling a strop.
  20. There's only so long the club can keep this whole 'not match fit' lie going on for, it's obvious he is on strike. Put it in the press and make VVD look like the spoilt footballer he is acting as!
  21. Kolarov is on the verge of signing for Roma, so surely city would be after another left back? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Forster gave a fairly glowing reference of MoPo - maybe that had something to do with him extending. "I think he has been awesome, his whole demeanour and the sessions he puts on, he knows exactly how he wants us to play and how he wants the team to work and how he wants individuals to work within the dressing room. He's been fantastic, a real breath of fresh air and something the lads have really brought into and are looking to move forward."
  23. How many times has he apparently told us this now haha? Seems to happen every week
  24. suppose he was consistently s**t yes! Although I am glad he has signed - don't think we'd get a better value deal in today's market anyway.
  25. Bit baffled by that - plays terrible majority of the season and gets rewarded like this? Having said that he has shown he can be a great 'keeper on his day so fingers crossed he's more consistent this season.
