Agree bolstering our midfield would have helped today and with Lemina on the bench it made sense. Still, I'm seeing improvements and as long as I see the team working hard and scoring goals I'm willing to give him more time.
He was there but sometimes he just needs to put in that early cross or cut in straight away. Austin would benefit much more from that. Instead, he slows us down and gives them a chance to reform at the back. It's unnecessary.
Thought Boufal struggled today. Nearly cost us the game in the first half and kept slowing down attacks with unnecessary tricks.
I have this idea that he must be cursed by a witch. Perform a skill before you can pass the ball.
He's nearly won me back. Still got to wait and see if his selections continue to be successful and he drops players that deserve dropping (Redmond, Redmond, Redmond and Redmond).
If we keep putting in performances like these last couple of games, Pelligrino will gradually get the fans back on side. We still need to sort out our chance taking though. City were there for the taking tonight (and I mean we could have won).
To be fair, the tactics were spot on today. Could have been ahead right now. Unfortunately, this is probably the most wasteful Saints I've ever seen. Redmond and Van Dijk have let the team down.
