I can't help feeling we'll look back at Alcaraz as one that got away. Personally, I do think we'll see him back in Europe one day.
-
If the priority is to stay up, both are necessities.

No idea where that leaves us then as I can't see Ramsdale happening. I struggle to believe Arsenal would cover 50% of his salary for us. Ajax are also still interested in him.
-
Hopefully that doesn't leave Steele. I've also seen rumours we've spoken to Joan García. I know nothing about him but it seems he's young and inexperienced, exactly what I don't want in goal.

I was feeling optimistic about the Bijlow signing as he's a quality keeper so that's some very unwelcome news. The club obviously already knew about his bad injury record but I thought the 20 game clause would mitigate that. They must have found something really serious to pull the plug. I don't believe for a second we can afford Ramsdale (especially given Russell's recent comments about wage structure) so it's looking like a Johnstone or Steele. Big downgrade from Bijlow which is a shame. We need to nail these goalkeeper and striker signings if we're to stand any chance of survival.

Memphis Depay.

If ever there was a fanbase that needed to see relegation, it's Evertons. A few years in the Championship would be a good remedy for their entitlement.

Realistically, we're looking at the likes of Josh Sargent and Emmanuel Latte Lath. Perhaps we've identified a lesser known talent on the continent that could do a job for us but probably wishful thinking given our recent scouting record. On the more fantasy end of the spectrum, Memphis Depay is still looking for a club.

Would be an ideal signing but apparently he's about to sign a contract extension.

This really doesn't need its own thread.

This is the concern. We lack quality in both positions but the issues don't stop there. A lot of our problems at both ends are self inflicted.

Pissed me off seeing a couple of Forest fans in the home section jumping up and down, fists in the air celebrating the goal in front of a Steward without as much as a warning to settle down. Might as well not bother with segregation.

Tifo looked shite. Such a poor design. Shame as it could have been great and I'm sure it was a fair outlay for the club.

Blackmore needs to ask him directly why he thinks taking off a fullback to move Stephens to fullback makes any sense.

They don't come much easier than that yet Forest were better than us in every department. They thorough deserved their win. We were slow, predictable and generally easy to defend against. Sloppy in possession and afraid to shoot on the rare occasions we reached the edge of their box. Utterly toothless. That was everything I was afraid Russball would be in the Premier League. I'm not sure starting with 3 centre half's was the best option at home. Nothing "brave" about doing that. We could have played another hour without scoring. Armstrong and BBD were playing too wide to make any kind of impact. There was nobody in the middle to hold the ball or cross to. Lacking quality all over the pitch. Very concerning performance.

I'm not convinced Martinball fits the Premier League.

Matsuki done his hammy.

Yeah I had Che Adams flashbacks with that chance.

Is Sangare the player we couldn't get a work permit for?
-
Perhaps Victor Hugo can be a Portuguese speaking buddy for Mateus Fernandes. Will Victor Hugo be eligible for a work permit?

Graeme Bailey suggesting we're chasing Matt Targett and some are speculating that could mean KWP is off. Hopefully there's nothing in it. As I say, I don't think we can play the system we started with on Saturday without him or a very good replacement.
-
Gutted to see KWP off if that's true. He was key to the system we were utlising in the first 45 on Saturday. I can't see Charlie Taylor playing that role effectively, nor Matt Targett if he's the replacement. Manning should be sold.

Possibly but I don't know. I was just summarising what I'd read on this article https://thegma.org.uk/news/exclusive-detailed-look-gray-leaf-spot-potentially-devastating-turfgrass-disease

According to some Burnley fans after we signeed him, Taylor was utilised as a centre half at times last season so we probably see him as adequate cover at a push.
