  1. Is that young CB from Barca a non-starter then?
  2. Blackburn spending big (ie their parachute finance) on a player like Rhodes shows they are ready to gamble on an instant return to the prem. Reminds me somewhat of saints in 2007, and we know what happened to us when the gamble backfired and the money was gone. Good luck Rovers.
  3. He obviously hasn't read the 'League One Minus 10' blog. Fulham = DULL!!
  4. I wish someone had given me a 'heads up' back in Nov 2006, I wouldn't have bothered coming here day after day to view news and the opinions of fellow Saints supporters
  5. You mean they hit the back of the net.
  6. "Remind the party". Love it! Straight out of the Fast Show, 'heth theth theth theth, queth theth theth theth, Chris Waddle'.
  7. With Fat Sam at the helm?.... Borlocks they do.

  9. Quality piece. Good work. Would love to know where you get some of that footage, especially the stuff from Brighton away. Brilliant!!!
  10. Fantastic job by Nige and all his staff. Very interesting to see how he moulds the team for the championship over the next few months.
  11. Totally thrilled. Well done Nigel, NC, the players and all coaches and back room staff. The manager has really installed a winning mentality at SMS, winning week-in-week-out, even when not playing well. What a run in we have had over the past few months! See you all in the Championship!!! UP THE SAINTS!!!!!!!
  12. He was woeful last night - no touch at all, the ball just seemed to bounce off him. I would stick Connolly on over him everytime.
  13. The gratitude of this club and its supporters will resonate for generations - what you have done for the people of Southampton and all the supporters of our wonderful football club has become a lasting legacy we shall never forget. Your name will be sung each time the Saints go marching in..... thank you. I am deeply saddened to hear the news of your passing and my thoughts and best wishes go out to your family. RIP Markus.
  14. Going to this one - my first away game for ages. For all Ale aficionados: The Market Porter and The George at London Bridge are picked out in the Good Pub Guide 2010 as top class pubs. I'll be in one or the other.... Looking for a good positive display. COYR's!!!
  15. sounds bad, but the point is that we have only played "2 matches". Its early doors yet so lets not lose our heads just yet.
  16. These fickle threads are becoming a friggin' bore. How about listening to what is being said by our new owners, we need to give it time and patience. There is no point spunking a wedge of cash for quick glory as all it will do is land us straight back in the same place we found ourselves in recently. Take a look at our friends down in pompey and see the mess they are in after spending big in the name of quick glory. People on here need to have a little faith, the prophesy will come true! Whatever happens, its got to be better than the position we were in earlier this summer.
  17. First game of the season/on SKY - the omens aren't good Our defence is looking as ropey as the opener against Crystal Palace a couple of years ago, and we know what happened then. An uphill struggle without some decent signings, i predict a defeat 2-1 Millwall (though i wish to god that i am proved wrong!)
  18. Isn't Rod Stewart a Celtic fan?
  19. All the mystery is doing my head in.... think i might just switch the router off for the next few days.
  20. Please let them wrap this up ASAP....... at least to save my sanity! This has got to be a good deal for the club, so lets hope they give it the go-ahead.
  21. I have always rated the £1 million signing of Alan McLoughlin as Saints worst transfer deal. Our record signing at the time, bought from Swindon who had got the guy on a free transfer themselves (and duly laughed all the way to the bank), played 27 games before we off-loaded him to pompey for a conciderable loss. An utter plum.
  22. An absolute legend...... but its about time. We were living for so long in the false hope of his return from injury. When he knackered his knee the first time coincided with the clubs downturn in fortunes. That was a black day for the club. Wish him all the luck for the future, and hope that it involves staying with the club as a backroom coach.
  23. I would wait to read something a little more worthwhile (ie "The Game" in the Times) than that heap of sh*t, aka NOTW. Wotton our most important player in the coming season! FFS. This will all work in our favour, however, as there is little or no media pressure being laid on the shoulders of our young team.
  24. What pleased me most was Mcgoldrick getting on the scoresheet twice. I feel his game is about building up a head of steam with regular appearances for the first team and the confidence it brings. Last friday should do him the world of good - which is great news as i can see us leaning on him for a good goal tally this season.
