Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland
Fozzybear replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Very impressed with wanyama, he is a rock!! Thought Osvaldo was lucky not to get a second yellow, that would've been a horror start to his time at the club. I'm just thankful for the point, i could see that turning into one of those super annoying days. -
Cheers.

What are they saying?....

£35 million spent by Liverpool on Carroll when he was largely unproven in the prem = irresponsible spending. We have spent the same on three players of real quality and proven at the highest level. People need to quit trolling rediculous b*****ks on this forum and recognise the tremendous work the club are doing to take us to the next level.

What a legend! I'm do proud of the man, first touch winner on debut at wembley against the Scots - it doesn't get better than that.
-
I am über proud of Rickie. Well done mate and congratulations on an awesome day for you!!

I've not seen anything written on this anywhere else but on SWF, it's seems to be gaining quite a head of steam without any links, sources, quotes etc. very exciting stuff if true.... BIG if.

What the hell is going on here? There seems to be a lot of us in complete agreement. Shock, horror!!
-
I agree with this. Firstly, we need more striking options as we are more than a little threadbare up front. Secondly, more creation from midfield is needed ( Lallana was too inconsistent last season) as was illustrated by the final couple of months of the season. Thirdly, our central midfield group are very strong and more than capable of holding their own against teams in the EPL, however Wanyama is an exciting talent and would give us exceptional cover in that position. Sod it, lets have all three. What an amazing transfer window this would be if they all materialise!

Apologies Trousers, misinterpreted the question. I'd say Le Tiss, or maybe Shilton - he was the best goalkeeper of his generation.
-
Keegan would've been worth a bit but he was nearing the end of his career. It's got to be Bale: right age and considered to be at the very pinnacle of world football in the modern age. Probably will end up as a Real galatico soon enough, and that = big £££££'s

Saints' kits through history (+other striped teams)

Pretty skimpy shorts by today's standards if I remember. -
Saints' kits through history (+other striped teams)
Fozzybear replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
One of my all time favourites too, still have it though I doubt I'd fit a ten year olds kit nowadays. It's being saved for the next generation. My personal worst was the Pony Dimplex one, even though it was worn during the Le Tiss golden era. I just thought it looked cack, plus other teams had the exact same kit in their own colours (sound familiar?) such as West Ham. -
Forren rejects loan move to fight for place. *
Fozzybear replied to swannymere's topic in The Saints
Jeez, there are some touchy posters on here. All I'm suggesting is that there are probably a few people out there willing to buy the paper if there is a story/ scoop which is Saints related. The echo will know this and would try and produce/ report/ fabricate a story to feed people's hunger for SFC news. -
More capacity at St Marys or new ground?
Fozzybear replied to Horton Heath Saint's topic in The Saints
Ditto this, suit me perfectly that would, especially a little toward Yeovil. -

Utter b******s. no chance we would be looking to loan him out. A case of the echo trying to desperately drum up some sales. -
I for one would've joined the queue snaking around West Quay to get my paws on one. The mock up posted on the earlier thread was awesome. Shame.

That's nice to know.... they are now my second team. COYFKV's!!

I'm gonna like this kit a whole lot more if the 2013/14 season proves to be a successful season. As it stands at the moment though, I'm not sold on it. Just for the record, for those who's memories stretch back that far, what were your initial views when the '80's kits first came out. These of course broke away from the traditional stripes, did you think it was sacrilege then? I grew up only knowing them ( my first kit being the mid-eighties draper tools kit) so it seemed normal to me at the time.

Surely addidas would be classes as the manufacturer? Of course they would out-source the actual production of the clothing, but it is their name on the shirt so the buck stops with them. Afterall, they are the ones creaming the fat royalties.

I quite like this one, still much prefer the rank xerox-esq mock up, but would be pleased with this design all the same.

Tottenham 1-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
Fozzybear replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It was never going to be easy, but we must keep the faith. We didn't deserve to get beat today and with other results going against us we are right back in the mix. Our sudden loss of the ability to stick it in the back of the net worries me, but it is still in our hands. -
Are you kidding? Like a rat deserting a sinking ship, Harry will be gone soon after the drop to the championship. Off to manage another bunch of suckers with more cash than sense.

What are the nice areas around Southampton, Winchester?
Fozzybear replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
Otterbourne is very nice and is right slap-bang in the middle between Southampton and Winchester. It has good links with the M3 very close and being on the number1 bus route, plus Eastleigh is 2 miles for rail links. There are excellent country walks and 3 very nice pubs to boot!
