  1. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/mauricio-pochettino-to-psg-tottenham-manager-says-it-would-be-dream-to-join-paris-club-a7002461.html I would literally wet myself if it happened.
  2. Good god! We need a BIG name. Pellegrini I'd love to have. But that's probably a pipe dream. ..although this kind of contradicts what I just said, but I'd love to see Adkins back at the club to finish what he started. People blow smoke up Poch's arse a bit to freely in various spots online given Poch's single solitary signing was Victor Wanyama, everybody else was pretty much Adkins signings. I'd also take Benitez, given that he took the Newcastle job which was just about as Toxic a job available that nobody was touching with a 10ft pole bar Villa wouldn't be above the realms of possibility. And he knows how good we are. David Moyes wouldn't be too terrible an option either. Bearing in mind Koeman is STILL here and doing a great job imo, the only place where Koeman is leaving is in peoples heads, he hasn't once said he's going. All said and done tbh I don't care who we get just as long as it ain't Brendan F'ng Rodgers.
  3. I agree with that. I'm not disputing that. That's business..business is hard and cold. My point is, had we had the deal done in January, where it was clear Toby was our best defender by a mile and a perfect pairing for Fonte, none of this would have happened. I don't see anyone else's feet the blame could possibly be placed at other than Reed's. $0.02
  4. AFTER he had his head turned by Tottenham after the savvy yet slimeball Daniel Levy realised the massive gaff we'd made by not activating the buy option for £8M. Had he not had his head turned..or more to the point had we got the deal done in the Jan window rather than wait until the end of the season and naively think nobody would notice the immense talent we had on our hands or perhaps even more naively think that a "gentlemans handshake" with Ath Madrid would be enough in 2015 ....he would have signed. Literally weeks before spurs declared their interest Toby himself said he's happy with us. I know that means precisely sod all in modern day football but he still said it and his head wasn't turned at that point. So I don't really believe it was case of he didn't want to sign, we just looked a gift horse in the mouth for too long and lost. We naused it up is what happened.
  5. I'm still foaming at the mouth at Les Reed over the Toby farce. We had FIRST refusal on that player for £8M. We could have had him. We knew he was quality, we should have just said.."hey..yep. We'll take him"..and shook their hand and done the deal. How we let what happened happen still boils my blood. Tbf Daniel Levy was an absolute slimeball hence, the lack of deals we've done with spurs ever since. Toby and VVD at the back would have been outrageous. Not knocking Fonte, he's still quality but knocking on 32 now. 33 at the end of this year and I don't see any reserve lads coming through in that position. I'll end it here as this is kind of drifting away from the topic.
  6. Agree with that. But at least us having a wage cap so to speak at least means we've got players who actually give a sh*t about representing the shirt. I know that's kind of catch-22 as we might struggle to attract top drawer players. But saying that, look at Leicester with Mahrez, Vardy and Kante..those players came out of nowhere, so it is possible. Mahrez was bought for less than a million. In fact all 3 of those combined were under £10M. So it can be done.
  7. I'd be happy with Carroll. But to be fair, a Striker is what we don't need. We've got Pelle, Long, Austin, Rodriguez, Mane (striker'ish) already..plus Sam Gallagher and Seager from the U21's. What we need is a midfielder who can score from outside the box and is a bit lively. Who that is I have no idea, but that's what we need. And a defender. Get rid of Yoshida and bring in a decent backup to VVD.
  8. Now that really was weird what happened with that one. I still have no idea what went down with that one. I'm not sure if it was his attitude or Koeman just realised he ain't gonna cut it or a combination of both. In any case..the Taider situation was a strange one.
  9. His work rate is what makes him an asset. Take him out of the team and who have we got that puts in the kind of shift he does?.. Possibly Steven Davis but he doesn't score. As someone mentioned above, without jumping on the Vardy bandwagon, but he does spring to mind and would leicester really have one hand on the title without him? Still think £12M we splurged on Long was slightly over the odds tbh, but that can be forgiven because we were in full panic mode at the time when the dippers took our players.
  10. Really don't see how any of those clubs are any better than us. West Ham, see the attraction there with them moving to the Olympic Stadium. Liverpool?...err nope. Not any better than us imo. Everton?...jesus.
  11. I think it's laughable people actually think Depay is even a possibility. We're talking about a guy who turns up to training in a F'ng Rolls Royce and walks around the training complex wearing sunglasses INDOORS. He blatantly doesn't fit our philosophy as a club. The guy can't even handle his own ego. He'll think he's above us. That's without even starting on the money he'd want. And quite frankly i don't want a tool like that here. Ox..I'd take him back all daaaaay long. At least he'd play for the shirt and has been well proven in this league something Depay has struggled with. Townsend..hmm..he snubbed us when he had the chance and went to those North East clowns, if they go down, I get the feeling he'd be "oh well saints will do after all". Good player, but he's already snubbed us.
  12. Jesus wept. Seriously? Would just about accept Bony but Benteke?... I wouldn't want him anywhere near our team.
  13. I sincerely hope Koeman stays but if he does go, then I'd like to see us get Pellegrini in. We need a TOP, TOP manager in to really put us on the Map or we're gonna be another Stoke City. Koeman seems a very loyal manager to me, but he doesn't have to be loyal beyond the end of his current contract and even that only has one year left on it. Why the club hasn't wrapped it up is beyond me, from the outside looking in it seems to me they are looking elsewhere. Hope that really isn't the case or they know something that we don't ....or it would be a serious slap in the face to RK who's been decent for us.
  14. The only way we can possibly get Europa is going to be dependent on other teams. Our season ended the moment we drew 1-1 with Everton. If we get Europa this year it won't be because we deserve to be there. There have been too many games this season we should have picked up points from and we didn't. Having Frazer Forster out for most of it and steklenturd in goal hasn't helped tbh. Having said that..I'd love us to get Europa but I doubt it.
  15. That would be a major clusterf*ck problem we'd be causing ourselves if we took VVD out of defence. The man is immense at the back and if I'm honest, he's wiped Fonte's arse a few times this season.
  16. I wasn't even born.
  17. Are you seriously comparing Clasie with Kante?.. Might be the same size but Kante is in another stratosphere.
  18. ****house performance that was. We messed up there, it was there for the taking.
  19. I'll say the EXACT same thing about Cedric as I did about Clasie on the other thread. Get's bullied off the ball way to easily. That never happened with Clyne. Cedric needs half a stone of muscle and we might have a player somewhere close to Clyne. Replacing Clyne was always gonna be a big ask especially when we don't have gobs and gobs of cash to throw at a top rate RB.
  20. Should have had that curtains by half time. Gonna put my head on the Block here and say that Forster could have done better on both goals. I mean when Ashley Westwood, who hasn't scored in an eternity puts 2 past us, I'm sorry but that worries me.
  21. We've had a decent season. Probably not enough to keep some of our stand out players but let's see.
  22. Romeu is far better. Clasie offers nothing imo. He's too small. He needs to get on the weights, Ideally he needs to gain another 2 stone but because he's so short that would put him well over weight. He needs another stone on him, he's getting pushed off the ball far too easily. Until he stops getting pushed off the ball and generally invisible on the pitch...he offers nothing at all. I thought that as soon as we signed him, size would be an issue straight away. This is the BPL not the Dutch League. Romeu is quality and if we lost Wanyama (dare I say it) ..Romeu could step up.
