Exactly this. If having away fans behind the goal is so detrimental, why have we continued to give them an extra 800 tickets than required. Could argue it’s due to revenue but we are prepared to spend thousands re jigging the whole ground. Plus half the games there’s enough demand for home fans in 43 and 44 and will be for the rest of the season if we keep up current form.

By that logic then the club should make the Northam more expensive next year yh?

Loads of teams have things like that without them feeling the need to wear all black, let off pyro and bang a drum.

Hope that’s true. Get safe standing in IN, Northam, KN and a few rows in the Chapel. Atmosphere’s been alright this season. If we want a ‘wall’ why haven’t people used the one that’s existed for the last 23 years. All seems a bit pointless moving the away fans

Every solution is a logistical nightmare in one way or another.

I think 4,000 would be a suitable number. The 3k in the Northam and Kingsland North, half of the Itchen North (5,00) and then allows 500 newbies to trial out standing culture. If they enforce sitting in the lower half, there will be complications. Derby have recently just done the back half of their home end, but those in the front seated section still stand, so hopefully they'll let people continue to do so at Saints. I will continue speaking to the club and push forward this narrative that it needs to be slightly more.

Chelsea have 29% safe standing in their ground so I'm not sure why it looks like Saints are going to do just the back half of the Northam (2.5-3k). Should do the entire stand in my opinion. Atmosphere won't improve with the current proposition. Will just go from having half the stand horizontally to half the stand vertically but with singers more spread out (like wolves away end)

The club are looking at ways to bring all vocal fans together in the Northam and are looking at different pricing options. Hopefully that means some cheaper seats in the outer blocks of the Northam. If that's the case then block 15 support will move there as the cheaper seats were the sole reason for the 'Back of the Chapel' movement.

Just looked. Think there was an option 12 game option starting against Swansea and a 10 game option starting this Saturday against Wednesday. So maybe we’ll see a couple more new faces up there 🤞 Momentum is definitely building up the in block 15 👍

Block 15 was very good last night I thought. Very few Pompey songs and lots of player chants. Even Russ gave us a wave. Good to see a lot of new faces up there!

It would be 10 times easier to leave it in its current format but make the Chapel the home end, rather than moving the away fans, then the family stand. Safe standing at only the back of the Northam will probably see stricter stewarding in non safe standing seats, potentially diminishing the atmosphere. I could get behind it if they made the whole Northam safe standing.

Was poor yesterday. perhaps too many sore heads. Think it helps when it doesn’t sell out as more people come up and join in the rows in front of us. fewer Pompey songs was a nice change though.

Hard to disagree with that. Potential is still there though. one thing I will say is no one gets on the players backs which is a step in the right direction. cut out the Pompey chants and it’s a good time (and cheapest)
