  1. Danny Collins would be good option to take on loan for the CB position IMHO, he is a left footed (left sided) defender too. What about Patrick Agyemang as a back up CF?
  2. Is this the mid week Brum game when we raced into the lead to be pegged back and then hun on to win at the end and the infamous Leeds game where we were 3-0 up with less than 20 minutes to go?
  3. When we signed Fonte from Palace they were fighting a relegation battle!
  4. He's like an echo of his brother Matt. Each time Matt leaves a club Joseph turns up a few months later; Doncaster Rovers and now Reading! How weird.
  5. Apparently if wikipedia is to be believed (I know!) he is currently playing for Wooton Blue Cross in the United Counties League Division 1. How far he has fallen if it is true!
  6. On Sky tonight they suggest CMS has joined up with the squad in La Manga today!
  7. I think this could have a positive spin. It now forces Adkins and Cortese to delve into the loan market and sign another midfielder on loan, which in my view they would not have done before the 2 injuries last night, and Adkins would have "made do" with the current squad. We then get Lallana an Oxlade-Chamberlain back fit and we have a better squad capable of securing the automatic spot. Just my opinion.
  8. In my view 24 points would almost certainly guarantee promotion, this assumes 1 draw and 1 defeat from Peterborough's 9 remaining games, and 2 draws for Huddersfield in their remaining 8 games. As you can see I am hoping that Huddersfield beat Peterborough, whcih in my view is the best result for us, depending on our own results. However, that being said we should be trying to win all our remaining 10 games and then we can worry about 95 points having been unrealistic. As with last night teams will have decisions go for or against them (as with the N'Guessan goal last night) and the one thing I will stick my neck out and state is that none of the top 6 will win all their remaining games! I'm enjoying the fact we look favourite to win most (if not all) of our games this season.
  9. THE JP Trophy final surely!
  10. Results are everything, particularly for some fickle fans. Bizarrely Tuesday's game at Walsall was the game you are asking for, albeit without the landslide scoreline. If we had put the chances away it would have been 4 or 5 nil and not 0-1. Today we had a poorer game but won. That is football!! The situation you are asking for is unlikely to happen very often, and is why you as well as some other fans will ultimately always be disappointed. We all need to enjoy the result today and move on to the next game, and we need to do this every game whatever the result.
  11. And yet our manager is nominated for manager of the month, go figure.
  12. Just shows that despite the doom and gloom on here in the last week or two that we have been perfoming as well as anyone during the past month, albeit when apparently we are playing appallingly.
  13. 1 deafeat from our previous 10 league games is not poor by any stretch. What were the conditions like? Our better performances have been on good pitches. We continue to be hard to beat, I accept there was one very good shout for a penalty for Hartlepool. Lallana started his first game since the 6-0 at Oldham, and he should be much more on the pace from Saturday, but if we go away from home for the remainder of the season, and draw at worst then unless our home form disintegrates we will be promoted. We definitely do better when we have 2 games per week, not sure why though! The initial reaction to a poor result is to be really down, but lets just accept that we got another point towards our goal, and look forward to the next match. There is no reason to suggest we won't have a great game on saturday and win comfortably, and everyone will then suggest we are the best team in this division. Just enjoy the ride!!
  14. Was this in the Blayney "shearer's header save of the season" game? I was there for both, and I think the Carr goal was the season after but can't be sure.
  15. I was born and bred in Lewes and played a handful of games for them when I was a teenager. Beddingham is not even a hamlet, where are you working then?
  16. Maybe Josh Wright or Michael O'Connor.
  17. How many Williams do they have?
  18. Why are we not looking to bring in Fabien Brandy, Andy Robinson and Jay DeMerit. They are all free agents and IMHO Brandy and DeMerit would improve our squad/ team, Robinson has proven himself at this level as a good wide midfield player. On a side note it is sad to see that Jamie White is still unattached, if it hadn't been for injuries I believe he would be in our first team now!
  19. What's this about further heavy investment in playing staff over the summer, we only signed one player on a fee set by a tribunal, hardly heavy investment. It sounds to me that they are desperately trying to drum up support on the night, by claiming it could be a classic. Let's hope this backfires and we get off to a good start under Adkins.
  20. Do those that wanted AP to go (even by Xmas) believe that the timing of this is good for our club. I would strongly suggest that this puts paid to any signings before tomorrow night, as they would have been expecting AP to still be here. This seems incredible after a string of very good performances in the first 5 games of the season culminating in the thrashing to Bristol Rovers that many of the fans had been expecting after the first 4 performances. I would assume that this was on the cards last week, but the new manager formalities had to be sanctioned before the sacking could be announced. For NC this is now a little embaressing as it is concluded after a fantastic performance. Who has NC had lined up then, this is now the question?!?!? I just hope that this does not affect the top players, as clearly the likes of Fonte, Puncheon, Butterfield etc came to this club partly due to AP being the manager. The strangest way IMHO to conclude the strangest and surreal of months in our great clubs history.
  21. Surely 4-0 is equally as good as 5-1, or am I missing something (i.e. 4 goal difference)?
  22. Is Tribal football reliable or has it just picked up on other websites rumours and run with it? I would suggest it is the latter, without any proof that they have had a good track record of reporting rumours that become reality (other than the high profile obvious rumours - i.e. Mourinho to Real Madrid)
  23. Wouldn't mind Melchiot as our new RB, might be worth a cheeky attempt.
  24. This is a definite in my eyes, he would be available on a free, and would enable us to have the solidity in midfield we hav lacked at times, and enable us to use our transfer budget on other areas of the team/ squad, i.e. a right back another centre back IMHO and another central midfielder to give us more options/ the ability to rotate our midfield at times.
  25. We have to believe we can win our remaining games and if we do then I believe we will now make the play offs. If we play like we did tonight we will win the last 5 league games. Huddersfield IMHO will lose against Millwall on friday and will at best draw with Colchester. Stockport are now relegated, and it is strange how a team that has no pressure after being relegated suddenly gets results they couldn't achieve while the pressure was on. Anybody who says Saints have never won 8 games in a row (what we need to win the remainder!) would be the same people who would have said we couldn't win 10 of our last 11 home league games, back in November. Strange things happen, at the moment we have incredible momentum while the other clubs in and around the playoffs are stuttering badly, who would have said Norwich would lost to Leyton Orient, or Millwall would draw with Yeovil, these things happen.
