Better than it is for us, imo.
-
What a childish response. Challenging how the club is run, doesn’t make you any less of a fan. Im sick of seeing regression season upon season. If you’re happy to accept mediocrity and being taken for a mug, then crack on son.
-
Relegation will cost us a hell of a lot more than 30m. That’s what selling him has just caused. Absolute joke of a club. Losing our best player to villa, clearly only due to money, is a shambles however you try and dress it up.
-
Why would the club say he’s not for sale?…. 1 - keep fans on side. 2 - maximise the value they can get for him.
-
Yes it does if they meet our value… it happens every. Single. Season.
-
Surely you’re smart enough to realise Blackmore is a club stooge?
-
Ouch, bit far that one, how will I recover.
-
Taken me Off ignore them always?
-
Because we’re a selling club. Selling our best / wanted players is what we do. No one is not for Sale At saints and we can’t afford Them not To Be either.
-
Pretty much what most reasonable posters on here suspected. He‘ll be gone by the end of the window.
-
Improvement = insane coach Regression = poor form
-
Bednerak, valery (again neither outstanding but both have certainly got worse).
-
Based on the second half of last season… everyone.
-
I’m just not one to celebrate mediocrity. JWP Has improved his consistency, but naturally that’ll come with game time. He’s not a ‘top tier’ player as you are claiming. Imo, just as many have regressed under Ralph, as have improved.
-
Improves players, but loses 9-0 and wins 2 games in 20.
-
‘Top tier’ wanted by no one other than Villa…
-
I’ll add 1 comment and 1 comment only. I wonder if players who refused / declined to take the knee at the euros in Bednerak, vestergaard, schmeichel, PEH, Adams, Armstrong (to name a few), will take the knee during this season. Mixed messages, it seems.
-
You know what, I’m not even going to engage in this debate. More threads about insane signings please.
-
Is there anything to be distracted by? He either wants to leave, in which case it’s already too late (given he’s missed 2 friendlies), or he doesn’t, in which case, he’ll just ignore it.
-
Yeah I agree. The buy back isn’t ideal, but if exercised it‘ll mean he’s been a good player, which can only be good for us. it’s not a bad model, it’ll hopefully build Some trust with the big clubs a d we can hopefully cherry pick their best young talent as a means of developing them. If we can afford to bring in some older, more experienced players around them, it could really work well for us.
-
Fair point. Some Think he’ll be a good signing, some think he’ll Be a shit signing. The only thing that we can agree on is that judgements have been made on YouTube videos without watching him. I guess football is a game of opinions.
-
1) TWar for one has said it’d be an ‘exciting’ signing. Many others seemingly are excited by the thought of getting him. 2) Possibly, but we’ve also had people wet their pants over YouTube videos and articles on some ‘insane’ incomings without watching them Play. No difference really?
-
Yet many others who haven’t watched him, are making a judgement that he’ll be perfect and that’s okay…? Football is a game of opinions. In mine, I don’t think he’ll be good enough and/or a good fit for us. Time will tell, let’s hope i’m wrong.

It’s not convenience at all. His goal return was a solid contribution last season. We know he’s very good at free kicks. But to bank on them is foolish.
