  1. The same faces who think we can beat Leicester also think that if we do, we won’t be able to beat 1 of West Brom, Burnley, Fulham. Just goes to show it was a ridiculous argument or comparison to Wigan.

I 100% agree. Kane is clearly the level above ings, I’m not disputing that. But if you’re ruling Danny out because of his age and injury record, you’d surely have to say the same about Kane, who’ll cost 5x the price. Both woulD score a hat full for them. But for £20m, there is incredible value in ings, it’ll allow them to get him and another.

But you’d admit that they would be interested in Kane, who is a similar age and has a just as bad, if not worse injury record. The difference here is Kane would cost £100+ m, ings £20m. He’d be a very solid back up option for them to be in their squad at that price.

    Danny Ings

Still on the table. Imo, we need to give him a deadline (we may have done). We need an answer so we can plan either way. The trouble for Ings here is that he could end up blowing his chance to play in a cup semi / final. It’s got Fonte situation written all over it. Wants and expecting a move to a big club, they’ll move to other targets and he’ll end up at someone like West Ham.

City won’t ’pay a bit extra’. History proves they’re pretty smart with their purchases and don’t get dragged into transfer battles (see Harry Maguire). Chelsea would be the best option for us, if they are keen. They have many reserve players not getting a game. We could try and position a swap deal for someone like Abraham, which would suit us.

    Danny Ings

I think it’s between him and Edouard as their top 2 targets, although that was before iheanacho found a bit of form. But I agree with you, I think that’s where he’ll end up, which will be disappointing given we’ve bent over backwards to keep him. I could just about stomach one of the big boys. It’s clear he’s off though and I’m not sure I blame him. The club in its current form is going nowhere, just a constant cycle of battling relegation which will end badly one year, probably next. He wants to get out and a move to a big club before it’s too late and I think that’s probably fair enough. His body, previous injuries and playing style, probably only got 2/3 seasons left at the top level.
  7. You’ve come at me a couple of times now, saying the same boring comment from 2017, that your old username used to also post. You claim to have been reading for a number of years and conveniently sign up the same day as that usernames last post. What I posted about Bertrand leaving, was at the time true. We changed managers, he then was persuaded to stay. He’s been miserable and not been the same Player since. We should have let him walk a few years back. Im not trying to mislead people, I post what I get told. Take it with a pinch of salt. Im Fortunate enough to know some people through the work that I do. I couldn’t give 2 shits about wanting recognition from some people on the internet I’ll never meet (and in your case never want to meet). If you don’t like what I post, block me or ignore it you odd ball. Stop doing what your previous account used to and cause an argument in every thread and let the grown ups discuss the football 👍🏻

    Danny Ings

Because I know. His representative have spoken to city, along with other clubs. He is a credible option for them along with other targets. He might not be first choice, but he is an option. It’s not rubbish.

    Danny Ings

He does tick a lot of boxes for them. Homegrown, played at a bigger club, fits their style, proven PL player, cheap. He’d be a solid back up option for them and is certainly a better option than playing a CM up top. I also don’t think he’ll end up there, I think they’ll get Haaland. I wouldn’t write it off though.

    Danny Ings

It’s not rubbish. They’ve spoken to him. He’s basically been touted out to all of the top clubs. The trouble for Danny is he’s the wrong age, got an awful injury record, been average this season and really only has had 1 solid season to suggest he can perform at that level. My guess and this isn’t a fact, is that city have him as a back up option if they fail to land their main target, who I’m guessing is Halaand. If they sign Ings, they’ll likely get another in as well.
  11. Nope, totally agree. Not sure it’s the clubs fault and I think taking the loan is probably the sensible thing to do. The issue is we are pretty much up against it to have a good transfer window stay every summer to stay in the league each season anyway, this current year will add additional pressure to that (I guess you could argue that is the same for everyone). All in all, I think it’s disappointing we never kicked on from the poch/koeman years where we built a solid foundation and we find ourselves where we are now. The comparison to Newcastle is an interesting and fair one. (Bringing it back on topic) It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth looking at Leicester, who are a similar sized club with a similar business strategy. They’ve reinvested pretty well and added a bit on top to get where they are, where as we had 2/3 catastrophic years with 0 additional investment and find ourselves struggling. There is no reason why we couldn’t have been Leicester. Personally, I think Leicester would be a good bet to lift the cup.
  12. Hi Always. Back to your usual tricks again and still using that same boring comment. Glasgow isn’t here, so you’re gunning for me this time. Be careful, you might get yourself banned again. I wonder what the next username will be.
  13. SSN are now reporting that City are interested in signing him this summer. But according to Stevy I’m just negative and hate the club LOL.
  14. Thoughts on calls to ‘defund the police?’
  15. So having the opinion that Ings wants to leave, despite the factual evidence that he’s not yet signed a bumper, record (for us) contract which has been on the table for the last 6 months, is negative? But to answer your question. A lot to be worried about the club at the moment, but key headlines are: 1. Current form. It’s relegation form, if we carry this on into next season, we’re in big trouble. I don’t want Ralph sacked, I want him to turn it around, but it is a cause for concern. 2. Finances. Our Financial results are appalling. For our business model (being sustainable) to be achieved, our current situation is a concern. It’ll impact the transfer window which will ultimately lead to us struggling to compete. 3. The squad size and ability. It’s not very good and point 2 adds to this as a concern. 4. Ownership. It’s clear the owner wants out and is doing the bare minimum to keep us afloat. That being said, the current board are doing a very good job with what they’ve got at their disposal imo. Despite how disappointing the second half to this season has been, it’s good we’re still in the PL for another season and obviously a FA cup semi final is good for the club (however it means nothing if we lose). I think we’re heading, or at least trying, in the right direction. I like the ‘playbook’ idea and our recent transfer activity, I think this will prove its worth in 2-3 seasons (let’s hope it’s not too late then). But until we’re taken over, we’re going to be in a horrible cycle of having our hands tied.
  16. What are you going on about? Why would this mean I’m not satisfied with the club?
  17. If we win the cup we’ll qualify for the europa league, not champions league.
  18. I’m sure he’s been in discussions with many clubs, including Leicester and a Manchester club (which I know for sure has happened). Wether that will lead to a bid or not, is yet to be seen. I’ll be amazed if he is still here come the start of next season though.
  19. Absolutely not. Even half hearted, he’s miles more likely to create something than our other options. He’s had a poor season, but an FA cup final goal / performance may encourage a big club to come in for him as he wants.
  20. It was a tongue in cheek comment mate, don’t get too cut up by it.
  21. Anyone should be allowed the right to protest but anyone stepping out of line and resorting to violence, should also be allowed the right to get a baton around the head and a water cannon fired at them.
  22. Bristol. Cringey chants. Pink hair. Typical hard left tag lines, ACAB, Defund the police. nailed on left wing, probably hijacked by Antifa, like every other protest that ends in violence. But yes, hard left, hard right, they’re all idiots.
  23. You can always tell if it’s a left or right wing protest by the chants from the crowd (other than the pink hair, of course). The left haven’t quite nailed them yet as shown by the ‘shame on you’ chants in this video. They’re the sort of type to shout ‘the referee needs glasses’ at a football match.
  24. Like Leicester today?
  25. Often how it works mate.
