Looks a tidy player, similar to what we’ve seen in his short cameos from the bench. However; playing in a 3 at u21 level very different to playing in a 2 against men in the premier league.
-
Both clubs have 2 pretty big fixtures coming up for their relevant goals this season. Fortunately, Leicester have 2 massive fixtures for top 4 so perhaps won’t have as much prep time as us. Our next 2 fixtures: Burnley West Brom Leicester next 2: City West Ham
-
I don’t know how Leicester are run, but they’re clearly a better run club than us. If you don’t think the way we’re being run in that having to sell your best players each season just to fund strengthening elsewhere whilst still Being skint, is an issue, then you’re a bit odd.
-
Jankewitz - Switzerland U21 face England U21 in U21 euro group stage today. does anyone know how this will work? Assume they won’t be away for a month and will just play the games each international break?
-
Why start the argument then pal? I mean, it was you who made the condescending post in the first place.
-
I’m pretty sure it was also repeated on an interview he done on TSP. It no secret that Gao doesn’t invest a penny and we’re reliant on revenue gained. Nothing out, nothing in.
-
I can’t recall where, possibly one of the fans forums or one of the interviews. It was stated that Gao puts nothing in but takes nothing out, we are depending on what we bring in to what we spend. Do you have any evidence that he does, when it’s literally come from the CEO’s mouth he doesn’t?
-
That money hasnt come from Gao, has it. Likely leveraged against future premier league revenue or past player sales.
-
Source?
-
It’s widely reported, even by those at the club, that we only have what we make to spend. Mr Gao doesn’t put anything in and doesn’t take anything out. That, or something of that ilk, came directly from Martin semmens mouth. Im sure if you look through the club accounts it’ll confirm this.
-
Because we bring in more from Premier league revenue. Gao hasn’t invested a penny other than his initial outlay. Not relegation quantity money, Not a penny. Would he invest more if we were in L1, as the scales are smaller, I don’t know, impossible to say. But current situation would suggest that he wouldn’t.
-
Yes. I don’t think Theo is great, but he’s a better than anything else we have there, other than Armstrong.
-
I’d happily see the mods create this into its own thread. I suspect in 5 years I’ll be coming back like Farage at an EU summit. * “you all laughed at me....” 😉 *Disclaimer - based on current ownership. This comment is void if / when either club are taken over.
-
But you’d rather Gao, than that Disney fella 🤔
-
Why is it mental? A business model that requires you to stay at the top level and spending the very minimum to do so, whilst loading the club with a big high interest loan, that’s mental. To be honest, it’s a pointless debate, we’ll be taken over before we drop into the championship anyway. So it’s irrelevant.
-
Looks like Theo will be back, assuming he’s doesn’t pick up another injury. Should be at full strength for this one, no excuses.
-
Everyone agrees we’re in a better shape than Portsmouth. No reason to be worried about relegation if we win the cup then. Full focus needs to be on that, fuck the league, which were pretty much safe in, off.
-
Again, fake news. That’s not what I want, as I’ve clearly said ‘rarest and most extreme’ example. But agree, probably wasn’t clear in the initial comment.
-
This is and was exactly my point. Using them as the rarest and most extreme example, they’ve not gone into oblivion and have found themselves a stable owner who isn’t bankrolling them through the leagues, but will level them out lower end of the championship... I’d take that for a cup win all day long.
-
Fair enough, probably my use of words not portraying my point clearly enough. Happy to admit that. But ownership wise, they are in a better situation, in my opinion. That’s not horseshit, it’s purely because of how bad Gao is.
-
Criteria is the fact that not 1 penny has been invested into the club to grow us as a business. We don’t have any money for him to take out. We need everything we make to muster up some ‘rough diamond’. Bolton aren’t in this league, but assume you mean Burnley? That’s a fair comment, although we have just taken a huge loan out, so yes, we are riddled with debt. West Ham and Newcastle fans are just a bunch of cry babies. I think Ralph would love the backing they’ve given their recent years. It not the money that’s the issue, it’s the way it’s been spent. I don’t think anything could be worse, we’re very fortunate to have survived the past 3 seasons. Continued lack of investment and ending in the championship would be a disaster.
-
Always, you’re obsessed pal. If you actually had the intelligence to read and understand people’s comments, you’d see that I said their owner is better than ours, not that they’re a better team or club.
-
Yes correct. I’ve always maintained that i wouldn’t sack Ralph whilst were still in the FA cup. That doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t be under pressure from recent form though, does it. As it’s been said many times, he’s very lucky to survive 1 let alone 2 9-0 defeats. How many other clubs would stick by their man in that situation?
-
100% agree with you. Just to clarify, not sure if I put the point across well enough. Im not saying they are a bigger club or are in a better position than us on the pitch. It was purely to show that even in the worse case, you are very unlikely to go bust and will still attract a wealthy owner. I maintain that I’d swap owner with them tomorrow. Gao is the worst owner in the league by a very long way. He’s pointless, just a head figure who offers absolutely nothing. The only positive I can think is that he’s not having a day to day input into the club, thankfully.
-
Hugely debatable. Norwich are a very good championship side who added little to no quality when they came up and didn’t lose it when they went down. Buendia is a top 6 player. Some teams yo-yo, but predominantly those who’ve been in the PL for a sustained period of time don’t (Stoke, Swansea, Sunderland in recent years). We’d effectively rely on going up within the first season or 2. After that, we’d be in trouble given the lack of investment from the owner, lack of PL funds and a big old loan with silly interest + players on PL wages.
