  1. Because as a saints fan I want better. I’m not convinced that it won’t happen again, to be honest.
  2. Got us to the top of the league for 1 day and then a relegation battle and a record equalling defeat in the same season 😄 Most points thrown away from winning position as well, isn’t it?
  3. My god, are you really that dense. Clearly we are not worse than San Marino in any way shape or form. However, their manager, sets them up to not concede a hatful better than ours does. They conceded a hatful, because they’re fucking useless players. If they set up the way we do, they’d lose 20-30-0 I’d guess. im not suggesting we should stick 10 men behind the ball from the get go, but at 6/7-0 down, that’s exactly what we should do, but Ralph is too stubborn to do that.
  4. It’s a valid criticism of the manager. or because it doesn’t fit the narrative, it’s not allowed?
  5. Clearly not. But could Ralph learn a thing or 2 on how to shut up shop from a part time postman or whatever he is? Yes. How embarrassing is that.
  6. For someone who gets hard over XG, I find it amazing he cannot grasp a simple tactical set up 😂
  7. League one!? National league at very best. I’ve not said they’re better, that’s clear. But they are better coached and set up better defensively than we do. That’s not stupid, it’s a fact.
  8. Why do the commentators mention it every game? Perhaps because it’s absolutely fucking appalling that it happened once.. let alone twice 😂😂
  9. The difference is they’re expected to concede 12 when they’re playing players who are miles ahead of them in terms of ability. 2 teams of relative equal ability, should be sticking 9 past you.
  10. Which is exactly what we should have done at 5/6/7-0. But we didn’t. We lost 9-0, they didn’t. That, to me, would suggest that they are set up better defensively than we are. clearly (amazing we’re having to explain this), a part time plumber, isn’t as good at defending as a premier league footballer. So it’s absolutely pointless comparing how they’d as a team do in the premier league. What we’re trying to get at is, They made themselves as hard as possible to break down, we don’t seem to have the ability to do that.
  11. Not what I’m saying, but it’s shocking that Ralph could actually learn a thing or 2 from him.
  12. Because to be Frank it’s absolutely embarrassing that it’s happened twice and the manager is under no pressure at all. The relevance here is that, this game highlights how bad it actually is to lose 9-0.
  13. No, what I’m saying as that they’re coached and organised better defensively than we are. You’d have thought that at 6/7-0 we’d realise were shit and would try the same... but we don’t. That is down to the manager.
  14. Of course they wouldn’t. They’re fucking awful footballers. Not one of those players would get into a premier league team. That still doesn’t mean that they tactically, are set up defensively better than we are. Chuck our players into that system and they don’t lose 9-0 once, let alone twice.
  15. They are. Their player quite obviously aren’t as good, but they are more organised defensively than we are. No team loses 9-0 twice if they’re defensively set up well.
  16. Yes, I think every single one of those starting tonight in the England team will have tried their hardest, wanting to impress.
  17. Nonsense. Of course they try and especially tonight given that the euros is around the corner. Every single one of those England players would be desperate to impress. the difference is that they set up and know how to be as hard as possible to break down, we don’t. People on here won’t like it, but that is on the manager.
  18. Christ, some statistic that. Sort of puts the United one into perspective as well, doesn’t it. Even with 10 men and many injuries. That side was stronger than San Marino’s.
  19. 3-0 up in a cup game with 5 subs, against championship team (who were poor), would have been the perfect time to bed him in again.
  20. Kind of goes to show how bad and embarrassing those 2 9-0 defeats are if even this San Marino team avoid it...
  21. Chomp chomp chomp. Far too easy always 🎣
  22. Unfortunately not. It’d probably improve us if he did.
  23. Sadly I think you’re right. Surely even Ralph’s little arse lick crew in TWar and Always can’t defend the way he’s treated him. Appalling.
  24. Which proves it’s not sustainable then, doesn’t it. Relying on a transfer strategy that has to be spot on every single window, is in itself not sustainable. Football is slightly different to every other business in that 1 bad year can have catastrophic ramifications to revenue for the foreseeable future. And generally speaking, football clubs don’t make money. But I do agree that Gao is taking the flack for previous years. Kat is equally to blame. In answer to your question, sustainability is having a steady business model that isn’t solely reliant on staying in an elite league and spending as little as possible to do so.
  25. Leicester have just built a state of the art training facility and have also assembled a squad which is competing with the top 4. Meanwhile, we’ve been left with no back up full backs, going to lose our star player, to possibly Leicester and will be priced out of a replacement from the championship. Leicester aren’t the ideal comparison to support your argument buddy. My concept of being well run is doing whatever feasibly possible to improve the business. If that means dipping into your pocket a bit (which I appreciate Gao can’t do anyway) to improve performance and in turn improve value of the club, then yes, we should be doing that. Relying on player sales & PL revenue to stay afloat each season is a terrible business model and one that isn’t at all sustainable. Leicester are a similar sized club, but can outperform us in every single way at the minute. Their record transfer is almost double ours. Their owners may not have deeper pockets (again, not privy to how much they’ve invested), but they certainly have more ambition.
